That was fun
That was the storm front that came through earlier. Literally 3 minutes after I took and edited this screen shot a bolt of lighting struck VERY close as in the thunder and the lightning were almost simultaneous, then my power went out. Also power for half of the my county according to the police bands.
Well after the power went out, I had to shut down my computer because the battery back can only run a "Server" like mine for about 4 minutes before the battery dies. MY battery bank for my solar power backup system is crapped out, the GC-2 batteries are all almost 8 years old, when they normally are only good for 5-6 years. So we spent the time in the dark.
Uhh no we didn't.
Between candles, flashlights and lanterns we were good. I even listened to the police bands some more on my 2m HT which is a Baofeng UV-5R Power finally came back up around 2317 that's 11:17 pm for those who don't use 24 hour format aka Military or European time.
So I've still got some video's to post.

My Daughter has Graduated
She has Graduated with a Bachelors of Music Cum Laude and a member of a National Honor Society for Foreign Language
Proud Papa is VERY Proud. And YES I know I look like Karl Marx. I need a hair cut.
I got home at 02112 and I'm transferring all of my files to the hard drive to ensure I can get the cropped and resized to e-mail to family members this week. I"m also recharging camera batteries before I put the cameras away.

Sprog #2 Daughter #2 Graduates today
From Texas Lutheran University. She has her Bachelors AND her Teaching Certificate. She told me she just got her results from her Certifications exams and she passed both of them.
She hopes to teach Middle School Band. I just hope she doesn't get hired in or near Houston. San antonio is not bad as I have friends close by in case she needs help. I DON'T have that in the Near Houston area.
Posting will probably be light the entire weekend. We're moving her stuff back down here, and putting some of it in storage.

Bob Owens of Bearing Arms
Monday, Bob Owens a very visible 2A writer and supporter died in an apparent suicide. [LINK]
I first read about it Tuesday evening over at Kenny's, and it blew my mind. I literally couldn't, COULD NOT accept it.
And then at midnight, I turned 49.
That is why I was basically shut down for a day.
I simply had my mind overloaded and I couldn't process or accept any new information.
I'm still having issues with the whole situation.
However, Bob died, whether it was a suicide or not, he still has a wife and 2 children who need OUR support and our prayers.
