ATF’s Hidden Gun Registry: How a ‘Tracing System’ Became a Billion-Record Database - Ammoland.com

Washington, D.C. — A new report from Reason confirms what AmmoLand has been warning American gun owners about for years: the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has quietly built what amounts to a backdoor gun registry — in violation of federal law.

On February 3, Rep. Michael Cloud (R-TX) and 26 colleagues demanded answers from ATF about the scale and legality of this database after being stonewalled for more than a year. The concern? A digital trove of hundreds of millions — possibly over a billion — firearm transaction records that the agency has digitized from former dealer files.

The Law Forbid a National Registry — and the ATF Built One Anyway

Federal law has banned the creation of a national firearms registry since 1986 under the Firearms Owners’ Protection Act. It states clearly that “no…system of registration of firearms, firearms owners, or firearms transactions or dispositions may be established.”

Yet the ATF, using a Biden-era rule that requires FFLs to retain transaction records indefinitely, has been digitizing Form 4473s — the very forms that list your name, address, and what firearm you bought — and storing them at its National Tracing Center in Martinsburg, WV. In 2021 alone, ATF admitted processing more than 54 million out-of-business dealer records.

EU Chat Control Got Worse - CYBER WAFFLE

Th reason I keep posting stories from the UK and the EU, is because, that is where they "START" with their violations of our rights. If it shows promise over there, then they try to export it to the US. These posts are a heads up, so you can keep an eye out for them trying to bring it here.

ATF Reverses Course After Denying NFA Applications for Wanting to “Exercise God-Given Rights” - Ammoland.com

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has finally done what common sense and the Constitution demanded all along: approve the previously denied or voided Form 1 applications that sparked outrage in the gun community. NFA applications have been denied for answers to box 4 I with language that referenced constitutionally protected activity as a legitimate reason for possessing NFA items. In a stunning reversal, the agency has now approved the forms, including those rejected for constitutionally grounded purpose statements such as “exercise my God-given rights” and “for all lawful purposes, including justifiable homicide.” According to reports, the ATF has acknowledged they “should have never been denied” in the first place.

This development comes amid the post-tax era ushered in by the One Big Beautiful Bill, which zeroed out the $200 NFA tax on suppressors, short-barreled rifles (SBRs), short-barreled shotguns (SBSs), and any other weapons (AOWs) effective January 1, 2026. With the revenue justification gutted, the ATF’s remaining registration regime was already on shaky ground, considering ongoing litigation like Silencer Shop Foundation v. Bondi (the “One Big Beautiful Lawsuit” backed by Gun Owners Foundation (GOF), Gun Owners of America (GOA), and allies). These approvals signal a retreat from the arbitrary enforcement that plagued early 2026 submissions.

Seriously, if they would make a vehicle like this as a hybrid, with 2 cycle/2 cylinder diesel engine, even if they made it smaller to fit US and European roads and Highways, I would buy one.  I would a small cargo area/pickup bed in the rear, and room for at least 2 passengers though.  Plus AIR CONDITIONING!!!!  I live in Texas, so A/C is a MUST!!.

CCRKBA Blasts Sweeping New Mexico Gun Control Legislation - Ammoland.com

Anti-gun-rights Democrats—this time in New Mexico—are once again trying to reduce violent gun-related crime by penalizing people who aren’t responsible, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms says in response.

“Senate Bill 17, which was passed by state Senate Democrats over the weekend, would ban semi-automatic firearms and original capacity magazines,” said CCRKBA Managing Director Andrew Gottlieb, “but it’s not going to prevent criminals from committing crimes. All this does s create the false impression that Democrats are doing something, when in reality they’re not accomplishing anything at all, except for adding burdens to firearms retailers and the law-abiding gun owners they serve.

“Proponents of this legislation have resorted to the usual inflammatory rhetoric we’ve come to expect, by calling these firearms and magazines ‘weapons of war,’” Gottlieb stated. “Tens of millions of law-abiding American citizens, including many New Mexicans, own such firearms and magazines, and they’re not a danger to anyone.”
The legislation, which may be read here, spans 17 pages. It passed on a 22-17 vote, with two Democrats crossing the aisle to vote against it.

Committed Gun-Grabbers Claim to Support the Second Amendment - Ammoland.com

During the recent unpleasantness in Minneapolis, a surprising number of prominent gun-grabbers claimed they supported the Second Amendment. Admittedly, they did this to lash out at President Trump and ICE, but they actually said it.

Gabrielle Giffords claimed to support the right of the people to be armed. “ …(T)he Trump administration has attacked the First and Second Amendments. Every legal gun owner should be horrified.”

Giffords burnished her credentials by reminding everyone she owns a gun. “As a gun owner myself and the leader of Giffords Gun Owners for Safety, I am alarmed by how brazenly the Trump administration is threatening our rights.”

However, in April 2023, it was Giffords who said, “Guns, guns, guns. No more guns. Gone.”

California Governor Gavin Newsom used a January 27, 2026, press release to announce his support for the Second Amendment. “We should all be outraged not only by the senseless deaths at the hands of federal officials, but also by the erosion of our rights. We must act fast to protect them and prevent any further tragic loss of life.”

Back in 2023, Newsom introduced a 28th Amendment. Intended to replace the Second Amendment, it would have eviscerated the right to keep and bear arms, turning it into a government-controlled privilege.

My answer? I shouldn't HAVE to expose my information like a child asking permission to play with toys, or to read a book. It is no one's business but my own, what I do or when I do it.
