Choices tie into responsibility

Over at Blue's there is a post that you really should go read.

Choices

That ties into responsibilities.  All the choices you made through your life and the responsibilities you take for your actions.  There are thousands of people if not millions of people in this world who will not take responsibility for their actions.  It is always someone elses fault.

They didn't do the job they were hired to do, so when they don't get that promotion and raise, it's someone elses fault.  They didn't bother to study in school, so it's someone elses fault they are unprepared to get and hold on to a job that requires knowledge.  They decide the law doesn't apply to them so they drive drunk or under the influence of drugs and have an accident, but it's someone elses fault, they were raised in a bad family, or peer pressure or anything other than their fault.

Everyone makes choices, some people choose to to favor one group over another because of some perceive slight, and others pay the price for those choices.

Everyone should be held to the same standard for the most part.  For some things there can be extenuating circumstances, how ever those extenuating circumstances should be the exception, not the rule.

When I was a child, you were held to the same standard as everyone else.  I had problems in school, and it wasn't until junior high it was found that I had a mild form of Dyslexia and Dyscalculia.  But during elementary school I had a half day of normal classes and a half day of special education classes as the teachers knew I had problems with some subjects.  However I had to pass the same tests that everyone else did.  And I did, just barely in some cases but I did pass them.

Now there are separate tests for these students because of the color of their skin or some other factor and others are held to a higher or different standard.

So now we see the consequences of those different choices. In our schools, our job market and in our jails.
