Feds Threaten To Arrest Lavabit Founder For Shutting Down His Service
The article states that the owner of Lavabit had to install a backdoor to allow the Feds to obtain not just the
Meta Data but the contents of the messages themselves. And by his shutting down his service rather than comply with the secret court order he is now facing criminal prosecution.
I'm sorry but if I ran a business built on protecting my customers privacy and you tried to make me give you a back door, I'd shut it down also.
