The confrontation is a perfect illustration of just how wide the gulf in attitudes is between the Beltway and the rest of the country — and how viciously Capitol Hill denizens will fight for their privileges."
There was a Constitutional Amendment floated around that basically said, Congress will be bound by the same laws as every other American. IOW no perk or privilege. If they passed a law they were not exempt from it.
