YOU can wait, let the police find your ravaged body, if breath remains, subject you to the indignity of examination, the pain and humiliation of having your damaged, violated private bits swabbed, photographed and documented, have your love life called into question, and wait to see what lovely and possibly fatal contagions you may have contracted- BUT YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO LEAVE ANOTHER TO SUFFER THAT FATE TO MAKE YOU FEEL SAFE.
