OSS Spigot Mortar - Revisited

If you don't have or don't want to sign up for a Scribd account, you can download this file HERE.

If you remember THIS post, you saw a video of how the "OSS Tree Spigot Mortar" was used.  Now you can learn a little bit more about it.

Especially about it's inventor, who invented some other cool stuff during WWII.

Spigot Mortar

Cecil Vandepeer Clarke Who invented the Tree Spigot Mortar and also some very unique Limpet Mines.  That link goes to the Tree Spigot Mortar.

The Tree Spigot Mortar used a HESH warhead, although it could have had other types as well.

A Tree Spigot Gun was one of the issued weapons for Operation Anthropoid - The Assassination of Reinhard Heydrich.

You can also find it described in this VERY interesting book called "Miscellaneous Weapons"  Which is about various OSS Weapons from WWII.  That link should open directly to page 39/Chapter 5 on the Tree Spigot Mortar.  Save a copy of the whole document for your own reference, I did.
