Grant Thompson - The King of Random - QC#95 - Matchbox Primers



I know this has been done with strike anywhere matches.  Heck the US Military actually puts this in their Improvised Munitions Manual - TM-311-210.  (Page 17 of the PDF, marked page 297 at the top)  Read some of the comments left on that file.  You will REALLY get a kick of how indignant some of the commenters are.

Anyway, in the manual, they show how you can use the tips of strike anywhere matches for ignition purposes of reloaded cartridges.

This is the first time I've seen safety matches used for that purpose though.

He'll need to clean his Glock barrel very good with hot soapy water though.  The Chemical compounds in the safety matches are corrosive, just like the older surplus military rounds.
