| Fairfax, Va.— The National Rifle Association today issued the following statement from Chris W. Cox, executive director of the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA), applauding the U.S. Senate's confirmation of Sen. Jeff Sessions as the 84th attorney general of the United States: "The NRA and our five million members would like to congratulate Jeff Sessions on his confirmation as attorney general. He will make America a safer place by prosecuting violent criminals while protecting the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding gun owners." The U.S. Senate confirmed Attorney General Sessions by a bi-partisan 52 to 47 vote. | |
