While browsing the innertubes I came upon a blog that has a lot of information from back in the day. The height of the Cold War was up on us, and the threat of a Soviet nuclear attack was very real and many time it was imminent. The Federal, State and Local Governments took various measures to protect the citizenry of our nation. From the various accidents and failures to the Cuban Missile Crisis, you will find entries about them at the below link.
