Teacher informs students of the Fifth Amendment Rights gets in trouble

"A Batavia High School teacher's fans are rallying to support him as he faces possible discipline for advising students of their Constitutional rights before taking a school survey on their behavior."

These are EDUCATORS, Shouldn't THEY know what the Constitution and the Rights Guaranteed under it are?  Shouldn't a teacher who informs his students of that  be applauded?  Instead of censured?
