How many days can you survive if there is no power?

This is just part of my food storage, in my house.  There is also my two freezers full of meats and vegetables, and my refrigerator full of fresh fruits and vegetables.  There is food at my Ex-wife's house, my mothers house, at our family's property up by San Antonio.  We have between everything almost 6 -8 months worth of food stored for 14 people.  I have several ways of cooking, from camping stoves and ovens to propane and charcoal grills.  I have small generators to keep my freezers and refrigerator going.  Solar panels and batteries with an inverter to also power the freezers and refrigerator and other things such as my HAM radio's and a couple of the laptops, with some power left over to power one of the TV's and the gaming/entertainment system.

Our Power Generation Grid is susceptible to natural attack from solar storms and even hurricanes and severe thunderstorms to terrorist attack and simple human error.  Our current economic situation is such that food prices are getting ready to sky rocket, through drought and the current administrations miscues to speculators and the cost of fuel.

What are you doing to prepare in case the power goes out?  What are you doing in case there is no food on the grocery store's shelves?  What are you doing if there is food, but you don't have enough money to buy it?

What are you going to tell your family about why you don't have food in the pantry or some way to cook what food you do have?

The government can't help you if they are more concerned with dealing with the situation that caused the problem.  You and people like you are just small little leftover cogs.  Not necessary to the running of the machine.

Do you think the government will fill your pantry when they can't even pay the bills?

Do you think the electric companies are going to drop everything to run a special power line direct to your house?

Do you think the oil companies are going to cut their prices just for you?

You aren't special.  You aren't more important than anyone else.  And if you come to my house thinking you will just beg borrow or take from me and mine, I have news for you.  I own firearms, and I know how to use them.  To protect me and mine, I WILL use them.

So make your own preparations so I don't have to do something I really don't want to do anyway.  But I will if I am forced.

Think about it......

And Prepare
