Ok, my daughter has now had her eyes checked, she did need glasses. However, the Eye Dr informed her she has a higher risk for disorders of the retina, such as detached retina and retinopathy, due to her family history and some blood vessels which are not looking too good. So we have to get her through college and into a job that has health insurance so she can see a specialist to confirm or deny.
She also has 2 new pairs of glasses, and while we waited for the lab to make her glasses, her brothers Sprog #3 and Sprog #7 and I walked over to H.E.B. and got a veggie platter and some sushi for lunch. I also got some sliced cantaloupe for my dinner.
I'm tired and sore.
On the way back we stopped so I could pick up some more .40 S&W. I got 250 rounds of the Barnaul 180 gr FMJ and 60 rounds of the Winchester PDX1 165 gr BJHP.
And as we got hoe I found a surprise in my mail. The Fluted 18" Stainless Steel 1:8 .223 Wylde barrel I ordered from Midway arrived today. THAT is going to be a fun upper to build. I still haven't decided if I'm going to use an A-2 Hook style buttstock or a Carbine Stock on that rifle yet. I'm leaning towards the A-2 Hook with a free float forend and a mid height bipod. I also still haven't decided if I want to use a Red/Green Dot on it or go ahead and buy a dedicated 4X for it.
I also picked up 60 rounds of CCI .38 Special/.357 Magnum Shotshells.
It's going to take me MONTHS to pay down the credit card bill, but with everything going on, I feel it is necessary.
What are you doing to get ready for the troubles ahead?
