China's Weird Attack Gyrocopter is Worse Than You Think - Task & Purpose

My observations:

Ok a few additions. IF, China is using a pre-rotator, to spin up the rotors, (and most current A/G's do) if they had at least a 15-20 mph headwind, they can take off in less than 20 feet and get up to 50+ feet of altitude in less than 100 feet. A autogyro can literally land on a dime, just shut off the engine and autorotate down, an experienced pilot can bring one down to land it's front wheel on to a 12 inch by 12 inch square. (I've personally seen this at a few air shows in Missouri/Illinois. Once at Whiteman AFB the two other times at Scott AFB) It was like a gymnast sticking a landing without even a hop. There have been versions of autogyros that CAN carry heavier loads. There was an experimental version of the "Carter Copter" that could carry up to 1,500 lbs in addition to it's own fueled weight. It had a fully enclosed cabin and could carry the pilot plus 5 passengers and some cargo. So if they stripped it down they could have a semi-armored cabin and still carry a useful weapons payload. So this isn't quite the joke it may seem. It could be used for "Police" duties, or it could be used as a low observable throwaway strike platform in advance of troops.
