Put barrier on "Suicide" Bridge, or put the money in mental health

Last month, in the middle of the night, a 40-year-old man did the same. Last week, yet another person — a 15-year-old girl — plunged from the span."

A group wants to spend $2.5 Million dollars on a barrier to keep people from killing themselves.  That money would be better spent on opening mental health facilities and hiring trained staff.  And trying to remove the social stigma that persons with mental health issues face.

Instead lets spend money to "Protect" people from themselves, not lets spend money to help "Heal" people of their mental health.problems.

That is the type of thinking that makes everything illegal and stuff that's already illegal, let's make it MORE illegal.

Just so some people can assuage their own guilt about NOT helping others and removing that stigma I talked about earlier in this posting.

DO you know the saying, "If you are not a part of the solution, you are part of the problem"?  Well these people are NOT a part of the solution, therefore, draw your own conclusions.

This is how we get Aurora, Newtown, the shooting at the Portland Mall, Tuscon, Columbine, Virginia Tech and others.  Putting money into things that don't FIX the problem.

The problem isn't guns isn't suicide isn't violence.  It's the lack of mental health facilities and funding for same.

So quit doing the "feel-good" measures and fix the problem.

I posted earlier about how politicians and special interest groups use tragedies such as Newtown and Aurora to force through laws that WOULDN'T have stopped those tragedies.


And this would have stopped the Newtown Massacre how?

That link at the top is about how the Aurora Shooter who I will not name, his own Psychologist, reported him to the police and wait for it, The Police DIDN'T FOLLOW THROUGH, on their investigation.

So now the Prosecutor is trying to get that information tossed out.  Click the link to Ace's and read for yourself.

Once again Those were were SUPPOSED to do something didn't follow the law, and people died.

How is the fult of the firearms?  How is the fault of millions of law-abiding firearms owners?  So why are law abiding firearms owners the ones who are targeted by all these new gun control measures?  And not the Mental Health Professionals and the Law Enforcement Agencies WHO DID NOT FOLLOW THE LAW!

And this would have stopped the Newtown Massacre how?

Malloy signed into law sweeping new restrictions on weapons and large capacity ammunition magazines Thursday in response to the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, a bipartisan deal that gun control proponents hope will spark action in Washington and state legislatures across the country."

How would these restrictions have stopped what happened in Newtown?  They wouldn't have.  Because they are nothing but feel good legislation passed in a hurried manner to force one more tenet of the liberals wish list of legislation on the citizens of this country.

It does NOTHING to address the real issue which could stop any more Newtowns, Auroras, Virgina Techs or the others.

Forcing the Doctors and other Mental Health professional to do the job they are ALREADY supposed to be doing.  That's right, the various professionals that are supposed to report the fact that their patients have a very loose grasp on reality to the authorities haven't been.  And to prove that all you have to do is to look a the person who I will not name in Colorado.  The University he attended is doing everything they can to get his mental health records and anything else that could point to their own culpability thrown out of court.  Why?

Because they didn't follow the laws, regulations and guidelines for reporting someone who may be a danger to himself or others.  In their particular case it is because if those records aren't thrown out they are more liable for a civil suit.  They already are liable as the rules of evidence are not as strict under civil law than criminal law, however under civil law they can delay and obfuscate to the point of reaching a negotiated settlement without admitting wrongdoing.  Not so in a criminal case.  The judge, if he decides the university was negligent can order the attorney general to start an investigation into the university's conduct.  And they WILL lose out if that happens.

All this law is is a feel good grab, and a push one further step and a check off of the list of things the leftists want to do to this country.
