Taxes and Penalties

New York which has one of the highest Tax rates alon with California has a new way to compel you to pay their high taxes.


"New York is known as an aggressive state when it comes to tax collection. And it's about to get tougher still.

The state is creating a driver's license suspension program aimed at those who owe at least $10,000 in back taxes and who have exhausted all appeals."

Now New York  is waiting until all other options and appeals have been exhausted, however other states with lower taxes have shown higher tax receipts with those lower taxes.

And in California, they are going back on on their own legislation as I understand it.


"CBS Sacramento reports the state promised the tax breaks for opening certain kinds of businesses five years ago, but a court ruled the practice unconstitutional in December.

Now, the California Franchise Tax Board wants their money. The station reports an estimated 2,000 small businesses will be forced to pay up their retroactive taxes, totaling as much as $120 million. Some businesses will face a bill of as much as $200,000."

And New York and California wonder why they are losing businesses other than their insane anti-business laws.

More companies need to stand up as well

"In response to the law, a number of firearms industry companies have taken steps to ensure that the State of New York and other states have to live by the same standards it would impose upon it’s own citizens. Larue Tactical, Olympic Arms, Templar Custom and Extreme Firepower have all created policies that exclude New York State government agencies, including law enforcement, from purchasing firearms or firearm accessories not available to NY citizens due to this draconian law."

As Bob wrote in his post.  If Glock, Smith & Wesson, Colt and all the other Firearms manufacturers refused to do business with the State of New York and any of it's entities, I have a feeling all politicians would start to get a clue about trying to restrict the Rights of the populace.

Plants?

I'm starting to wonder if maybe someone is starting to plant firearms and assorted errata on kids in an effort to whip up a hysteria.

But then again, maybe that my conspiracy voice talking to me....

I don't think New York's tax revenues will be up to snuff after this fiasco perpetrated on honest New York residents.

Remember the New York couple

who had High Explosives and banned weapons in their New York City apartment?

The woman has given birth to a daughter while in police custody, and her boyfriend/baby daddy has pleaded "Not Guilty"

I don't have an issue with the couple being arrested for having the explosives or the weapons.  I DO have a problem with the police department and the media continually putting out the type of explosive and the name of certain text's the couple had in their home.

It took me a 5 second google search to find 3 videos on youtube on how to make the explosive in question, and over 100 links to the documents in question.

You don't want advertise this information, because you have other young, stupid mental defectives who are going to search that info out, either for (Pardon my language please) shits and giggles, or to actually try to make that stuff for nefarious ends.

When I worked in L.E. in St. Louis the policy was you got up you said "So and so was arrested for such and such a charge, any questions you have direct them to the Prosecuting Attorney"  END OF PRESS BRIEFING!

You DO NOT give out information which might contaminate the potential jury pool, you do NOT give out information which is prejudicial to the investigation.

In a natural disaster, this could be you and your family.

OCEANPORT, New Jersey (Reuters) - It is hard to sleep at night inside the tent city at Oceanport, New Jersey. A few hundred Superstorm Sandy refugees have been living here since Wednesday - a muddy camp that is a sprawling anomaly amidst Mercedes Benz dealerships and country clubs in this town near the state's devastated coastal region.

Inside the giant billowy white tents, the massive klieg lights glare down from the ceiling all night long. The air is loud with the buzz of generators pumping out power. The post-storm housing — a refugee camp on the grounds of the Monmouth Park racetrack - is in lockdown, with security guards at every door, including the showers.

No one is allowed to go anywhere without showing their I.D. Even to use the bathroom, "you have to show your badge," said Amber Decamp, a 22-year-old whose rental was washed away in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.

The mini city has no cigarettes, no books, no magazines, no board games, no TVs, and no newspapers or radios. On Friday night, in front of the mess hall, which was serving fried chicken and out-of-the-box, just-add-water potatoes, a child was dancing and dancing — to nothing. "We're starting to lose it," said Decamp. "But we have nowhere else to go."

Unless you have the means and the knowledge to ensure it's NOT you and your family.
