I've done some reading on this and the amount of methane being held in our ocean's floor is frightening. If we had 2 or 3 underwater earthquakes in the right area or an underwater volcanic eruption in the right place, the amount of methane that would be released would make so called global warming look like a minor heat wave.
"The worst mass extinction in Earth's history - long before dinosaurs roamed the planet - was caused by microbes, according to a new study. The tiny organisms suddenly began belching out the greenhouse gas methane - which is about 20 per cent more potent than carbon dioxide - some 250 million years ago.Fumes spurted from the oceans wiping out 90 per cent of all species, from snails and small crustaceans to early forms of lizards and amphibians in less than 20,000 years. The 'Great Dying' occurred more than 252 million years ago - long before dinosaurs lived roamed Earth - at the end of Permian era."
In the Gulf of Mexico, off the coasts of Florida and California there exists billions of tons of methane locked up in the ocean floor.. If even 1/10th of that methane were to be released, there would be a massive die off of the vital plankton that is the base of our oceans aquaculture. With that die off there would soon be the death of all the ocean's vertebrates and the poisoning of our oceans and seas.
Just something for you to think about as more and more earthquakes happen every day.

Sounds like free energy to me.
I agree with the Perfesser- we need to harvest that frozen methane.....for the children you know.
