I do not have a 38 Special but I do have a K frame 357 Mag. I like the 158gr Hydroshock running 1150 fps. This is a sub 357mag load but beyond 38 +p+. The 1150fps is the slowest speed for maximum expansion when shooting through water filled milk jugs.
