Is There A HUGE Navy COVERUP Under Missouri? - What Lurks Beneath

I don't know about Carthage, but I DO know that under the St. Louis metro area, there are well over a dozen tunnels and caves under the city.

Running from the riverfront all the way out past Grand Avenue, going from the east to the west, and spread out north and south from Cape Girardeau all the way up north to the Grafton Illinois area.

I know the US Army Corps of Engineers has a tunnel with special barges with rails, designed to carry rail road cars, that can roll on and off.  I have seen with my own eyes special tug boats with US Army markings, inside a large cave/tunnel with rails that run under the steel and concrete doors down a small grade and into the river.

I was part of the security team while the Corps of Engineers were dredging the river in front of those doors.  We were employed by an outside contractor, however all of us on site were prior service.  We were bussed in, and bussed out at shift change, in busses with painted over windows and there was a solid partition between the driver and us in the back once the door closed.

I know approximately where it is/was since I was raised in the area, and I saw on an Urbex website a few years ago, where the explorers had entered a large cave/tunnel on the riverfront.  They found that the rails had mostly been paved over and the buildings held the empty cradles that would have held the tug boats.  They couldn't figure it out, but I knew, once I saw their photos, what it was.

The barges with the rails on them there used to be dozens of them, in their photos you could see the remains of 3 or 4 of them.  As they looked like they had been cut up for disposal.

And there are thousands of other places like that all over the US.  The Corps of Engineers have/had plans and hardware and contingencies in place to try to rebuild after a possible nuclear attack.  That was the 1980's and early 1990's of my life.

Grow up with the possibility of nuclear annihilation constantly being held over your head.  The threat of another world war.  I didn't know it was impossible at the time, but I and several other kids in my school were terrified the Soviets were going to sail a submarine up the Mississippi River and try to take over St. Louis because of Scott Air Force Base and McDonnell Douglas Aircraft. I was a teenager when I was told  that Scott AFB and McD weren't THAT important to the Soviets, HOWEVER, the Defense Mapping Agency WAS, and they were on Gratiot street by Anheuser Busch.

So yeah.  There is a LOT of stuff going on that most people will never ever see or be aware of.  And just because it sounds improbable, or impossible, doesn't mean it is.
