Many people don't understand what people of my generation grew up with. Fire Drills that weren't, Attack Drills that were. The fear of the Soviet Union, the threat of a possible attack.
Young people of today, fail to understand why many people are resistant to things like "Democratic Socialism". We had to live in fear of being attacked, killed, dying under nuclear incineration or dying from radiation poisoning or even possibly biological or germ warfare.
I was a kid when the Soviets invaded Afghanistan. I remember Iran Contra, the Iran Hostage Crises. I remember people trying to escape from East Germany, from behind the Iron Curtain.
I remember the gas crises and the OPEC Oil Embargo.
And these young people who are being taught the "Socialism" is so great and everyone gets treated the same way. They all get treated like human cattle.
They need to open their eyes, and see that "Socialism" has been tried, doing it harder won't make it work any better than it has in the past. If you want to see just what real socialism is, look to North Korea or Venezuela. where all the power is concentrated into ONE person. Not the masses like they believe.
