Edited again..... Photos of the Stuffed Bears for Relay for Life.

Megan making the ribbons for the bears

Mary cutting out the bears, Tufts my cat is supervising from the box she claimed.

Melissa sewing the bears

Tufts supervising

Mary holding a sewn bear before it's stuffed

Melissa stuffing a bear

After Stuffing.

You can see we will be doing a lot of white flannel bears. We also have enough materials to do 6 or 7 more of the camo bears. If you would like to buy one of these bears, the white ones are 10.00, plus you can choose which cancer ribbon you want added. If you donate to the above link, then e-mail me with the amount and your name and address. Unfortunately the cheapest way to ship these is with flat rate shipping, the won't fit in the small box, but will fit in the medium size. Flat rate shipping according to usps.com is $10.70, that is the only additional charge which you will have to send via a postal money order to my P.O. Box. But your bear will be shipped out the same day we get your money order.

As I said, the bears are a $10.00 donation plus shipping cost. Flat Rate Priority Mail boxes are free, if you send me the postage label, you don't have to mess with a money order. If you don't want to donate online you can mail me a check or money order payable to the American Cancer Society - Relay for Life, in the memo section please put Team Lifesavers. If you want a bear please let me know, and you will have to send a separate Postal Money Order for 10.70 for domestic Flat rate Priority Mail. You can make the money order payable to USPS or to me Mark Anderson, your choice or you can purchase the postage label yourself and send it with your donation of $10.00 for a bear. Please do NOT combine the donation and the postage. And please do not make out your donation check to me. Make it out to the American Cancer Society. Don't forget to put your return address, either on a separate piece of paper or a filled out Priority Mail address label.

Any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at txfellowship@yahoo.com

I forgot one of my dream cars

When I first saw one of these cars, I was in High School at Normandy Senior High in Normandy Missouri. Wayyyyy back in the 80's. One of my teacher had one he had meticulously restored. I spent many days peering at the car, looking in through the windows while waiting for the bus to pull up so I could get home. Recently a neighbor of mine down at the bottom of the street had one, also restored. The thing that stood out most to me when looking at it was the fact that it only had 3 studs holding on the wheels. I'd love to get one of these.

Following on the post below

I started to put together a list of the cars I'd love to own. A few of them I have owned, a few were owned by friends, neighbors or family.

First cars I personally owned.

a 1986 Saab, of course.

Buick Skyhawk. Mine was a blue 1978 with a 4 speed and a 151 in line 4 cylinder

I had a yellow 1972 Beetle. It's license plate ended in NEZ and my father called it the Yellow Nosed Flying Omelet. Nez is french for nose.

Now for what some family members had that I wished I had.

My aunt Fay and Uncle Russ had a green one of these type 3 VW's.

My cousin Rex had one of these VW Microbuses.

Now for what some friends and neighbors had that I would love to get.

A friends dad had a Morris Minor Mini. I loved to go for a ride with them on the weekends. The car was nimble and fun, but a bit tight in the back seat. what little there was of it.

Another friend of mine, his neighbor had one of these Ford Model A pickup truck. It wasn't in as good shape as this one, but it ran, and got used every weekend.

The same neighbor also had one of these. a 1940 Packard, which was his daily driver. It's paint and upholstery were faded but it ran good.

A girl I used to date many many years ago, had one of these. Hers was a 1974 VW Thing. It's roof leaked, it needed lots of work, but it ALWAYS started.

This last one is one I've only ridden in once when my parents took my brohters and I to the UK for Christmas vacation. I"ve wanted one ever since.

A London taxicab. I can do without the for hire signage. But the "boot" is what made me want one.

What are your dream cars? Let me know in the comment section.

Mark

Ok, Now Jay's post

here made me comment about one of my old cars. A red Saab 900 2 door hatchback with a beige and black interior. Not the Turbo and not the S model. The standard 900 with the standard 8 valve inline 4, 2.0 liter H engine.

It looked a lot like this one except it didn't have a sunroof, and it had stock wheels.

I loved that car. It got premium gas even though money was tight. With premium in the tank though it gave me 32 mpg on the highway versus 25 with regular unleaded. It also ran smoother with premium. It would easily bury the needle which topped out at 120, in 4th gear. It cornered as if it had been glued to the road. The BF Goodrich Touring T/A's were worth the cost in good ride, traction and control. I drove that car over 200 miles with no brakes because the front pads were gone, but the kids and I had to get home. It handled like a dream and with down shifting I saved my rotors. The mechanic asked me several times just how far I had driven and couldn't believe how good the rotors looked.

When the starter went out between paychecks it would pop start in less than 5 feet of rolling. With the rear seat folded down I slept in the back many times. Plus I once took my then 4 kids with3 of their friends to the local pool just by folding down that seat. I hauled 8' 2X4's without having to prop up the hatch, carried 10 80 lb bags of concrete mix without bottoming out the suspension. That car did everything I asked it to and more. However my wife was pregnant with twins, and it was either sell my Saab or my truck, and I used my truck to make money with. So with sad tears, I sold my Saab for 6 times what I paid for it. I had restored the faded and oxidized paint, cleaned up the upholstery, fixed all the little problems and made it a nice looking smooth running car.

The guy I sold it too, impressed with the 120 mph speedometer tried to see just how fast it would go. Well it could and did go fast. But when you run the engine over 8k rpms racing someone in a tricked out mustang, and you're only in 3rd gear bad things happen. My beloved Saab, who I actually named Henrietta, died. She didn't deserve to die that way, after all the good service she gave. But she is gone.

And I want another one just like. Same year, same color, same body style and same engine.

I've been offered 3 Saabs since Henrietta died. But they didn't have what she did. 5 speed manual, 2 doors, hatchback, 2.0 liter 8 valve H Engine, red paint and beige and black interior with stock rims. I don't want a Turbo, I don't want an S with the 16 valve engine I don't want a sunroof or a ground effects kit. I want a plain jane red 1986 Saab 900 2 door hatchback, so I can name her Henrietta.

Need some help....

As I posted below I recorded my two daughters Patriotic Concert last week. Well I'd like to help out the school a little more. One of the band directors and I were talking about putting fixed cameras in the catwalk and the control booth going to a good computer for recording the concerts audio and video. Does anyone know of a system which allows good recording capabilities for both audio and video, which also allows one touch recording? We were talking that we'd like it so you just press one button and all the cameras record and take audio from the existing mic's. Plus I've been using windows movie maker to do all of my editing, and while it works, it is very limited, is there any decent inexpensive software which will allow me to edit upto 4 cameras plus the take from 6 microphones into one track without me going nuts trying to get 100ths of a second to line up right like I do now?

Any suggestions? Idea?

2 new additions to the Blog roll

I found out that the bloggers at Hill Buzz, were being threatened and harassed by the liberal mentards. Being accused of Racism, having their personal information posted and people being encouraged to seek out the blogger and actually physically assault them. I've e-mailed Hill Buzz and offered them to use my show any time they wish to refute the attacks on them, or if they just wish to speak out about what is happening to them.

Cynthia Yockey, who Blogs at A Newly Conservative Lesbian is supporting them, and I'm proud to add both of them to my blogroll as a suggested read.

Please hit the links and go over to both blogs and find out what is happening. and find out just how low the liberals will go to squelch any dissent against the "Anointed One"

What Idiocy is this?

Through Uncle I learned of THIS where in Washington D.C. if you are a female in a so-called Prostitution free zone and you are carrying more than 2 condoms on your person, you can be charged with Prostitution. WHAT!?!?! I can see if the person was carrying a Gross of condoms, (That's 144) but 3, 4 or even 6 you can be charged with a crime? This falls under the proving a negative rule. How can the person so charged prove their innocence? How do you prove an negative? The police say you were carrying 3 condoms you are a prostitute. Uhhhh, most packages come with 3 or more in them. How does that play out to a woman who is stopping at a store to pick up some protection before a date with her boyfriend? When she walks out the door suddenly she is a criminal? What hypocrite came up with this? When they are giving out free condoms to boys and girls in high school, they are now penalizing the same for having them.

What idiocy...

The new school prayer.

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene...
The law is specific, the law is precise..
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks..
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's '..inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen

Something has been niggling at me

Have you seen the commercial for the newest Ford product? The S.H.O. however the voice over guy is calling it SHO. I don't know where he came from, but I'm an old gear head, and it used to be called the S.H.O. for Super High Output. For years the Big Three had special divisions which took the flagship standard and made a High Performance/High Output vehicle or vehicles.

Ford Motor Group had the Taurus S.H.O., Mustang S.H.O., Mercury Marauder, Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, Torino and I'm sure there are others I can't remember.

Chrysler had Mopar, with Vehicles like the Charger T/A, Super Bee, Challenger R/T, Roadrunner, Barracuda, Viper, Prowler and once again I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

GM had the Camaro, Chevelle, The 442, The GTO, Firebird and again I'm sure I'm missing some.

What has happened that even the idea of a high performance has been, pardon my language, bastardized? When did the S.H.O become the SHO? What happened to the Ford Performance Group, FPG? GM? I haven't heard of a real GM Performance vehicle since they gave up the rear wheel drive option. At least Chrysler had the Viper and the Prowler. Our auto manufacturers have been neutered. And at least Ford is starting to regrow it's street cred, but what about Government Motors? What about Chrysler?

I'm going to ask you to post in my comment section or if you have your own blog to write up your stories. If you have a particular vehicle or vehicles that you think exemplifies the Performance Vehicle, write it up if you are writing it on your own blog please post a link over her to me, and I'll edit it in to this post, so readers can link over to read your post.

This HERE burns my butt and chaps my heinie. With the advent of more affordable personal locator beacons, people who are endangering the lives of themselves and their rescuers, through irresponsible behavior and extremely poor judgment. In addition to the mind-set of these individuals, there is "the boy who called wolf" syndrome added on top of that.

I enjoy hiking and camping. However there is no piece of technology that will let me attempt a trail that I am not competent to to take. Only time and experience can allow me to do that. Yes there are some trails that require a certain level of technology to take, such as ropes, climbing harnesses, pitons, nuts and blocks. A PLB can be a good thing to have for just in case. However it doesn't take the place of simple commonsense or experience.

I am the face of the Second Amendment

Many media types seek to paint firearms owners with a broad brush. Painting them as either a hunter who only owns a hunting rifle or shotgun, or as an individual who is a barely restrained homicidal lunatic waiting to snap their leash and explode upon the innocent populace. They have an agenda, a narrative, which reality doesn't fit.

I am the face of the Second Amendment. I am a father, a minister, a former soldier, former Volunteer Auxiliary Police Officer, a former Security Officer, a former Emergency Medical Technician, a former Volunteer Firefighter, a former Real Estate Agent, a former gas station assistant manager, a former auto maintenance shop assistant manager. I am many things. The roles I take most seriously are Father and Minister.

I own firearms. Not for hunting although I have used them for such. Not for self defense, although I have used them for such. Not for target shooting, although I have used them for such. Not for offensive, although I have used them for such when I worked in Law Enforcement. A firearm is many things, and few things. It is an inanimate object which requires my will to function. It has no free will, it has no muscles. It can not intimidate or threaten without my action upon it. It is a hunk of machined parts, of metal, plastic, rubber and other things. Brought together in a form which allows me to do many things with it. I can shoot targets with it. I can hunt with it. I can defend myself and my family with it. I can defend others with it. I can use it to project force if necessary, or to project imminent threat if necessary.

But it is still just a hunk of parts. It requires my will, my actions, my intent to do anything other than sit on the shelf in the safe. I have to make a conscious decision to take it out, to load it, chamber a round and fire it. Until that time it is just a gathering of parts, with no will of it's own.

I own firearms because I enjoy shooting. I enjoy taking my kids out shooting. The same way I enjoy taking my kids out fishing, or camping. I also own firearms because they someday might be needed to project that inherent force to protect my children, others or even myself. In 10 years of working in the law enforcement field, I am quite proud of the fact that I have never had to discharge my weapon at another human being. I did have to draw that weapon many times over that 10 years. Several times at a subject, other times in preparation for an entry into an unknown situation. But I never had to fire it at another human being. I did have to use it to put down a dog which had been almost cut in half by a train. I've had to put down one of my own dogs, miles from the truck and several dozens of miles from the vet. I'm not proud of that fact, and wish there had been another way, but I could not and cannot allow one of God's creatures to suffer that way. Some would say that if it had been a human I wouldn't have done it. And they are right. I wouldn't have done that to a human being. A human being is many orders away from from an dog or a wild animal, but some would equate that dog or wild animal with a human. They are not the same. Because I think that way, I am labeled as a monster a thing. And yet these same people labeling me, throw platitudes about a convicted cop killer, they think that the terrorists would just leave us alone if our country was more understanding, if we would see things from their point of view. I do see things from their point of view, they want to subjugate me and my family and I will not not roll over and play dead for them. I will stand up to them and spit in their eye, and do anything in my power to destroy them if they ever try to hurt my family or my country.

Because I will not sit idly by while the socialists and liberals attempt to take our Constitution and trash it and the freedoms it affirms, I am a racist, a neanderthal, a war-monger.

No I am a Man, a Father, A Minster, and many years ago I took an oath to defend our Constitution no matter the cost to myself. This I shall do and to paraphrase Gandalf the Grey, They Shall Not Pass.

That is one of the main differences between me and others like me and certain ideologues in this country. I want you to make a FULLY INFORMED decision based on facts, not emotion.

A repost of a parable

This is a repost. Rather than changing the post date, I cut and pasted the original post and reposted.

Mark

This is an old parable with a new message at the end.
OLD VERSION:
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.
The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!
************************************************************
MODERN VERSION:
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.
CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast.
How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?
Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody cries when they sing, 'It's Not Easy Being Green.'
Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, 'We shall overcome.' Jesse then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.
Nancy Pelosi & John Kerry exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.
Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity and Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government.
Hillary gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper in a defamation suit against the ant, and the case is tried before a panel of federal judges that Bill Clinton appointed from a list of single-parent welfare recipients.
The ant loses the case. Ted Kennedy, Harry Reid and Dick Durbin say justice has been served.
The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in, which just happens
to be the ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it. The ant has disappeared in the snow. The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote.

The proper use of a firearm

With all the debate in congress and other places about the "Sporting" uses of a particular firearm, I thought I'd give a brief explanation of a proper use of a firearm. But first some thing a firearms proper use is not.

A firearm is not "just" for hunting.

It is not for personal defense.

It is not for plinking.

It is not target shooting.

It is not for the police.

It is not for the military.

It is not for the overthrow of the government.

It is not for criminal use.

It is not for informal shooting.

It is not for organized shooting.

These are just a few of the things the proper use of a Firearm is NOT for.

A firearms proper use is the projection of the threat of injury or death. By it's very existence, it empowers the person holding it. It allows them the ability to stand up to criminals and thugs. And even allows them to stand up to governments if the need arises. For most of firearms owners in the United States, it can be used for hunting, target shooting, and even self defense. But those are not the proper uses for a firearm.

To quote V from the movie V for Vendetta, "People should not be afraid of their government, the Government should be afraid of it's people."

The proper use of a firearm is to keep everyone honest. Especially Governments.

It is governments who fear the idea of weapons in the hands of it's Citizens who usually have a reason to fear their Citizens. For many Governments, if the Citizens knew exactly what their Government is doing, they would be outraged. Therefore those Governments restrict their Citizens access to firearms. What does the Government have to hide? That they do their best to restrict Law abiding Citizens from exercising rights affirmed, not given, but affirmed, in our Constitution. They tell us it's reduce crime and firearm accidents. Yet in the days before the gun control measures were enacted, violent crime involving the use of firearms was very low. Why? Because a vast majority of the citizens of our country were armed in one fashion or another. An armed society is a polite society. Our police officers could count on the support of almost every Citizen. And those Citizens would usually provide their own weapons for the Posse.

And yet with more and more laws limiting and restricting our rights to own firearms, crime has escalated. Trust in our police officers has lessened. And many police forces have developed an "Us versus them" mentality. The Blue Code of Silence has arisen to the detriment of law enforcement. David Codrea has his Only Ones, showing how police officers abuse the public trust through corruption and even breaking the very laws they have sworn to uphold.

As these times progress I see more and more things. More abuses by the officials who are sworn to defend our laws and us, of the very laws they swore to uphold. Members of our legislature to whom their office is more for graft and corruption, than representing the true interests of their constituents. I see law enforcement officers who abuse their authority to punish citizens who dare to speak out against the crimes of their officials. And yet these same officials rely on the old boy system to maintain their authority.

So you tell me. What do you see as the proper use of a firearm? When more and more of our rights to own or posses them is restricted and eroded every day?

Direct from Operation Rooster Headquarters

Here is Tim, the man behind Operation Rooster at his SUPER TOP SECRET HEADQUARTERS. We had to send in a spy fly camera at great expense to get this special shot. Unfortunately his own security systems shot down the camera shortly after this photo was transmitted. And our expense account doesn't cover the replacement yet. So this may be the last photo we try to get of his SUPER TOP SECRET HEADQUARTERS.

I'm going back into the lab to try to get a decent satellite shot of his place. Hopefully he won't shoot down the satellite. :o)

To sleep, perchance to dream.

my sleep schedule is so messed up right now it's ridiculous. I have been laying down for a "nap" and wind up sleeping 12 hours and missing my show, dr's appointments and other stuff. Then I intentionally try to get my sleep schedule normal, by taking a sleeping pill and wind up staying up for 18-20 hours instead. I'm so frustrated with it right now, I'm going to contact my Dr, and ask him to set it up for me to go to the sleep disorder clinic.

My apologies to my readers and listeners. I hope to get back on track shortly.

Political Censorship

When someone disagrees with something you say, they can ignore you, and look elsewhere. Or as some people have done, click on the little "Flag" button here on Blogger. Girl in Shorts has been flagged as "Objectionable", which normally means there is adult content, ie: lots of nudity. Well I have looked at her blog, and there is one, photo of a topless woman seen from the side, and I don't find it objectionable. It was to make a point in her post, and it does. However there are many people who do not agree with her politics, and use any excuse to block people from seeing her views which do not agree with their own. Hence the "Flag" and now she has a label as an "Objectionable" blog.

You saw this same thing during the election last year when certain supporters of certain politicians used the "Flag" button in an attempt to stop the dissemination of information which could harm their candidates campaign. And here it is happening again.

Please don't let it happen. Go to Girl In Shorts and read her post. Then go to the blogger forum and express your opinion.

Open your eyes

For almost 2 weeks, we have been bombarded with all the details of Michael Jacksons life, death, kids, family problems, money problems etcetera ad nauseum.

The MSM has spoon fed us this pap diverting our attention from other things going on. such as, Cap and Trade, which is actually a hidden tax on every person in the country. The possibility of the CIA misleading congress. When in fact it is an attempt by the Democratic party to save Nancy Pelosi from her own lies. What else are they trying to hide from us?

Open your eyes, don't rely on the MSM for your news, seek it out yourself. Make your own determination. Use your own judgment and make your own decisions. Don't let someone else make up your mind for you.

Remember in between white and black there are shades of gray. Be sure you see the subject for what it actually is.

100 Mile CB

This post has been updated a couple of times. See the two following links as well.

100 Mile CB AGAIN!!

Preparedness Video Project Tips and Tricks 100 Mile CB

If you want to have a CB that will reach 100 miles, you will have to break quite a few laws to do that.

First you will have to modify your radio, which voids it type certification and makes illegal for you to use after that. It can only be used legally again if you send it to an authorized repair center and have your modifications reversed.

Then you will have to increase it's power output. By Law a CB is limited to 4 watts forward power. To get a range of 100 miles you will need to amplify that by the use of a linear amplifier which is illegal for use on the CB frequencies. If you are a Licensed Ham Operator you can use an amplifier but not on the CB bands. Only on the bands you are licensed for.

You would then need a very good antenna, not one of those 19.99 mag mount specials. Expect to pay 100 plus just for the antenna the mount and the coax will run you some bux also.

If you do get all of this together, you will need the power to run your radio and your amp. Most automobile batteries will last about 10 minutes powering such a setup. If you run your engine to keep charging the battery, with the amount of power you are putting out, you will probably fry your cars electronics, and you will destroy your battery as well.

Is it worth it?

When you can spend less than 20.00 to get a Technician license, and you can get a decent 2 meter mobile radio with a good antenna, that will only use 6-10 amps of power but will put out anywhere from 40 to 100 watts of power, for less than 250.00. And if you tie in to linked repaeters you can talk for hundredS, that is several hundred miles.

Is it worth possibly getting arrested, losing your car and your radio, and very large fines, just to be "cool"?

If you are interested please click on THIS link and see about getting a HAM license.

More work around the house

Here is my daughter Melissa's clubhouse, I'm building, that I've been twittering about. This started off as 7, 4 inch landscaping timbers, as she tried to make her own place away from her siblings. Well I took those timbers added 3 4 X 8 sheets of OSB, and started to build her a real clubhouse.

These pics only show 2 of the walls and the roof beams

I have the back wall added now, and I"m getting ready to frame in the windows I salvaged from an old camper. I'm also going to build a door for it myself using some leftover paneling from my project of building the wall for the boys room.

I'll post some more pics as I get further along.

Governor Sarah Palin is stepping down

as Governor of Alaska. I'm watching her speech as I type this, and while I admire the woman a lot for what she has done, and much of what she stands for. I cannot understand what the heck she is saying. She is jumping around from point to point and her many breaths make it as if she is trying to get her message out before someone cuts off the microphone.

Ok, now it seems as if she is saying, the reason she is resigning because of the FedGov is trying to force the porkulous dollars on her state.

Ok, now she's talking about the ethics complaints.

Get to the point....

now she's talking about her and her husband's financial issues and false accusations.

Ahhh, it's coming to a point. She doesn't feel that she and her staff cannot do their jobs because of all the idiots making accusations they have to then defend against.

Ok, kinda rambling now..........

uhhh, now she seems kinda whiny. I think... hmmmmm...

ok, reference other governors just taking a paycheck and calling in.

Fox just cut off her off.

I'm done.

I think this is rediculous that the politics as usual has hurt the state of Alaska. I don't think Gov. Palin will be putting herself forth in the national political arena after this.

I somehow ripped the toenail

of my left big toe completely off. I'm not sure how I did it, but I need to quit wearing sandals all the time, and go back to wearing my boots. I would show you a picture of what it looks like but my 15 year old daughter Mary said it's "Nasty" so I won't.

Now normally when someone does something like that, they would be in a LOT of pain. I am not. There is a lot of discomfort, but very little pain. WOW!! you might say. It doesn't deserve a wow though. Because of all my various injuries and accidents through my life I suffer from neuropathy, which means I can severely injure myself in certain parts of my body and I won't even know it or feel it. My feet, my right thigh and forearm, the center of my my back right below the shoulder blades. I have dead spots. I have little or no feeling in those areas. This has come in handy when I've had confrontations in the past when I was working security. People freak out when they stab you in the arm and you don't even flinch, just look at the knife in your arm, then look at them. But when you are trying to get things done around the house, and now you can't because you just hurt yourself and can't risk doing more damage, things like this are a major annoyance.

So tomorrow morning I will be calling the DR, and see if I need to go to a podiatrist for my other toes. I can't risk letting this get out of hand, because I can't FEEL it. This injury untreated or treated improperly could actually cause me to lose my foot.

So if you ever have a small injury, think twice about not seeing your DR. You might be risking more than some discomfort.

Housework today

Well a few months back a friend of mine framed a wall in my house to give my 3 youngest sons their own room. They have been sleeping on couches in the family room for the last 4 years. Well they are getting older and boys being boys, they need to have some privacy, so as to not scandalize any guests I might have over.

My friend Troy framed it for me, last week I put in some shelves, today I started putting up the paneling to back the shelves and close off the boys room.

Even with the air conditioning set to 78 degrees in the house I was burning up. If it weren't for my daughter Melissa's help, I could not have done this. She and her younger brother my oldest son Matthew lugged the panels in for Melissa and I to cut to fit and nail up.

Here you can see into the boys room and see their twin over full bunk beds and one of ther dressers. I put the fan up because I was burning up.

Second panel in place.

A closer look at the shelves which will be filled either with some canned goods or nick-nacks, I haven't decided yet. To bring out the grain in the wood I used my large propane weed burner to burn the wood. When I m done with the wall, I will use the burner on it again, with the fire extinguisher handy to bring out the grain in the panels.

Here you can see the wall is mostly done. I already have a door and frame to install, I just need to go to the hardware store and pick up some wood shims tomorrow, and both of my daughters will have to bring the door and frame in and help me shim it. My large pieces of left over wood paneling will be used on my daughter Melissa's club house and my 2 junked travel trailers for doors.

Tomorrow after I get to he hardware store, I'm taking my ex-wife over to the other piece of property to shoot her new pistol.

Might have a range report if I can remember to bring my camera.

From my friend Kathy in St. Louis, about political correctness

"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Hmmmmm,

I've been watching the news, and listening to the radio. And more and more each day, I wonder just how long we actually have. How long until the United States becomes not a third world nation but a 4th world nation. A 4th world nation where people become nomadic and living in a hunter gatherer lifestyle. How long until we decay to the point that tribal and religious laws take precedence over our established laws and Constitution. Wahabism and Sharia law do not allow for the freedoms we currently are guaranteed under our Constitution and Bill of Rights. How much time do we have? How much more can we afford to erode our rights, and responsibilities in exchange for the so called safety and security of a Democrat controlled country. Where our debt load becomes so high, that my great great grandchildren will be born into a crushing debt that is not theirs. And the government wants to add more to that. By the time my great greats are born, they may as well be Serfs or Slaves. This is the direction our country is running headlong into. The Global warming alarmists, the spread the wealth liberal politicians, and special interest groups and their supporters. It scares me to see this happening. To see our educational system being systematically destroyed by the very government that is supposed to ensure a proper education for our children.

Read my little links, and realize these are my thoughts, and opinions. And I'm allowed to them under our Constitution, at least until the government or others decide I can't say this anymore.

I love my Country, but I am starting to really fear my Government and it's actions and employees.

So until they come knock on my door or kick it down. I will keep posting what wandering thoughts I may have.
