Hickok45 - Henry AR 7 Survival Rifle
I have one of these. I also used to have one of the Charter Arms AR-7's. Does anyone else remember the RamLine 25 round magazines for the AR-7? I had 3 of them, one worked perfectly everytime, another would only work perfectly with CCI ammo, and the third was a piece of fecal material. A lot of the Charter Arms AR-7's problems could be traced to the chamber. The cut for the rim of the case was a little too sharp and needed to be relieved just a millionth or so to obtain better reliability. The Charter Arms AR-7 also could be very ammunition sensitive. And ammo that would work reliably in one rifle wouldn't work for spit in a different one. CCI's work in almost ANY .22 LR, except a friends AR-7. They would work in mine and mine seemed to prefer them over all others. In my friend's AR-7 however, it would not run CCI's reliably no matter what. His AR-7 believe it or not preferred Winchester Super X's. The only firearms of mine the Super X's work reliably in are the single shot's and the pump, and they don't always work right in my pump action .22, I've had a few feeding issues, but in my friends AR-7, that was ALL it would feed reliably.
Now I have a new Henry US Survival AR-7. And do you want to know what is bad about it? I've had it for almost 6 months and I STILL haven't had a chance to take it to the range.
Which I hope to change this week. I also have to take my Glenfield 60 .22, and a Chiappa Little Badger .22.
I should just make it a .22 caliber day.
