Forgotten Weapons - Should Guns be in Museums or Private Collections?

This is just my opinion, but unless it is an extremely, extremely rare firearm, I"d much rather see it being shot and used than tucked away into a museum somewhere.

Plus if the firearm IS extremely rare, it needs to be properly examined and copies need to be made for handling and study. Study means shooting the copy every once in awhile.
