I'm listening to a discussion on Fox News this morning, and they are discussing the country's need for security, versus the citizens rights to privacy. And the obvious Democrat operative is saying that if we want security, we need to give up our right to privacy.
Uhhh no. The US Government HAD a program that was already tracking the mosque where the husband (I won't name either of those two terrorist murderers), and it was shut down by the Obama Administration State Department under Hillary Clinton, citing that it might be interpreted as "Profiling".
They were already keeping an eye on the members of that particular mosque, when they were shut down because of "Political Correctness". They didn't NEED to collect all of the private communications or metadata of EVERY citizen in this nation to prevent the attack. They just needed to follow established protocols that were already in place and have been proven to work in the past.
However, the US State Department, under Hillary Clinton, and Barrack Obama, shut the program down.
So you tell me what we need.
The ability to use existing programs that have a proven track record, or the violation of the privacy rights of EVERY CITIZEN in this nation, which allows a Government which has a proven record of the misuse and over reach of such information.
There are many people saying that Rand Paul and Ted Cruz when they voted to shut down the bulk collection of metadata made our country less safe, nope. It's it's Obama, Clinton, Kerry, Holder, Lynch and all the rest of those bureaucrats, that have made us less safe.
And they are continuing to try to make us less safe and more open to attack, so they can have their way with our rights.
I will make a prediction.
The next attack will come within the next 90 days, it will be in the midwest, possibly Chicago, St. Louis, or Memphis, with a small possibility of Kansas City, Indianapolis, Scott Air Force Base, Whiteman Air Force Base, Fort Leonard Wood, or Detroit being hit.
How do I choose those particular targets?
Democrat controlled civil governments, problems with the police departments, high value targets, symbolic value targets, evidence of preparations already being made in those areas.
According to friends still in Law Enforcement up in the Missouri/Illinois area, there have been some unusual thefts and attempts at theft in and around the Metropolitan areas of St. Louis, Kansas City, Memphis, and Cook County Illinois.
Delivery company vehicles, uniforms from those same companies have been stolen/are missing. Large numbers of pre-paid cell phones being purchased/stolen, large numbers of propane tanks being stolen, several attempts of theft at mining and road construction sites. People going to gun stores and guns shows trying to purchase large quantities of firearms without going through the NICS background checks or filling out Form 4473, offering more than the firearms are worth to buy "Under the table". Increases in home burglaries of homes that DO have firearms in them. According to a friend who is a detective with a police department in the St. Louis area, handguns which are normally the weapon of choice for being stolen and sold on the street are being surpassed with more and more rifles being stolen, and they don't know where they are going. They aren't showing up on the streets, at pawn shops or anywhere else.
Take all this evidence in, and something is going on.
And STILL the government is saying they need to be able to read all of our private communications. When ordinary police work and surveillance will tell them what is going on.
So for that reason alone, I don't trust them.
