Memphis City Council Votes to Dig Up Grave of Confederate General, Sell His Statue
There was the following answer:
Ok, people wash off that "White Privilege" guilt it is History time and it is here to save the day. Ok What was the war about? Lincoln's popularity Period. On November 6, 1860, Lincoln won the presidential election without the support of a single Southern state. Talk of secession, bandied about since the 1830s, took on a serious new tone. The Civil War was not entirely caused by Lincoln’s election, but the election was one of the primary reasons the war broke out the following year. OK now who owned more blacks? The Blacks did!!!!!! The fact is large numbers of free Negroes owned black slaves; in fact, in numbers disproportionate to their representation in society at large. In 1860 only a small minority of whites owned slaves. According to the U.S. census report for that last year before the Civil War, there were nearly 27 million whites in the country. Some eight million of them lived in the slaveholding states.
The census also determined that there were fewer than 385,000 individuals who owned slaves (1). Even if all slaveholders had been white, that would amount to only 1.4 percent of whites in the country (or 4.8 percent of southern whites owning one or more slaves) Ok now if only six percent in the south owned slave what was the reast fighting for? Representation... U.S. Grant also had several slaves, who were only freed after the 13th amendment in December of 1865. When asked why he didn’t free his slaves earlier, Grant stated “Good help is so hard to come by these days.”
Contrarily, Confederate General Robert E. Lee freed his slaves (which he never purchased — they were inherited) in 1862! Lee freed his slaves several years before the war was over, and considerably earlier than his Northern counterparts. And during the fierce early days of the war when the South was obliterating the Yankee armies!
Lastly, and most importantly, why did NORTHERN States outlaw slavery only AFTER the war was over? The so-called “Emancipation Proclamation” of Lincoln only gave freedom to slaves in the SOUTH! NOT in the North! This pecksniffery even went so far as to find the state of Delaware rejecting the 13th Amendment in December of 1865 and did not ratify it (13th Amendment / free the slaves) until 1901!

All this is, is a desire to DESTROY real history, so someone can write their own narrative. And then force that narrative to be taught in all of the schools.
The TRUTH doesn't matter. Only the Narrative.
So when you see or hear people caling for the take down of a lfag or the destruction of a grave or a memorial, ask yourself this. "Who really doesn't know the history? And who has an Agenda?"
