Women in Combat Arms

Stormbringer has it:

"This was inevitable - the Department of the Army is seriously considering allowing women to attend Ranger School.

Anybody who has ever attended that hellhole will know this is beyond a bad idea, this is insane.

The hero named Grim over at BlackFive has a great analysis of this PC-gone crazy:

A better argument: women are structurally at least four times as likely to be seriously injured in this kind of intense physical training, and possibly -- if the British army's experience is telling -- as much as eight times as likely.
This leaves three options for implementation, all of them bad."

I don't want anyone to think I'm bashing female soldiers, I am not, but except for a small minority of women, there is NO WAY they can meet the same physical standards as male soldiers. That is a certifiable incontrovertible FACT. Not a guess not a conjecture a FACT. And for the current administration to try to force this on the armed forces shows me that they are more concerned with "Looking Good" than in actually doing their jobs.

And most of the brass in the pentagon...who will never have to rely on those women who made it through on gender related gimmies.

It'll be the same as the PT test; separate "fair" standards. For those who view the Army as a career rather than a calling, this is just another punch in the promotion ticket.
