I've written about this several times in the past. Here is the newest entry.
"COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Several courts in Ohio are illegally jailing people because they are too poor to pay their debts and often deny defendants a hearing to determine if they're financially capable of paying what they owe, according to an investigation released Thursday by the Ohio chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union."
How are people supposed to pay their fines if you have them locked up? Especially when that person may be the only income source for an entire family? Did you guys think this through? Did you bother to study the colonial history of this country? People being locked up because they couldn't pay their bill, then being forced to become "Indentured" to pay their bills, which in some cases was slavery in all but name.
What are you people thinking?
