"We are currently unaware of a practical solution to this problem," the Department of Homeland Security's Computer Emergency Readiness Team said in a posting on its website late on Thursday.
I only use Firefox so I can't tell you how to disable Java on any other platform, but in Firefox click on Tools, then Ad ons, then go to Plugins. Look and see if you have Java or Java tools. If you do click on Disable and close your tab.
Now you have Java Script also, however many cloud E-mail accounts REQUIRE Javascript to load, so if you turn Java "Script" off you may not be able to access your e-mail.

You know, it's really too bad the hackers don't actually use their hacking capabilities for GOOD, like building GOOD security tools... sigh...
