As long as they are not dinging users who are sharing files that are not copyrighted, such as the Defense Distributed Files, the CD3WD Files and a whole host of other types of files that are legal for sharing, I really don't see a problem with this. My only quibble would be the possibility of false positives, and people getting dinged for that.

ISP's stepping up to stop illegal P2P File Sharing
As long as they are not dinging users who are sharing files that are not copyrighted, such as the Defense Distributed Files, the CD3WD Files and a whole host of other types of files that are legal for sharing, I really don't see a problem with this. My only quibble would be the possibility of false positives, and people getting dinged for that.
