I would try to ride one that size -- very cautiously.
I'm hoping to work my way up to the "proper" size for my leg length, which is on the order of 48" or 50". But they are getting dangerous at that height and even entry-level versions run right around $1K. So at this point it's a race between adventurousness, disposable income, and the prudence of advancing age.

I understand the advancing age and the financial end. Although I call it impending decrepitude and being broke :o)
