25 Forgotten Sandwiches That Have FADED Into History! - Old Glory Days
How many of these do you remember?
I remember the Mock Chicken, the spam sandwhich, sloppy joes, monte cristo, deviled ham, potted meat, creamed corn, although my grandmother usually also added green peas, cucumber, pimento cheese, olive loaf, I haven't seen olive loaf in years, has anyone else? Fish sticks, I love making those to this day, 8 baked fish sticks, with tartar sauce, cheese, lettuce and tomato, maybe some sliced red onion if we have any. There were some I've heard about but never tried and there are also other sandwhiches I'm surprised they didn't mention. Pigs feet, fried grits on toast with cream cheese, do you have any sandwhiches that used to be everywhere while you grew up, that you don't see any more?

US Virgin Islands to Ease Unconstitutional Gun Restrictions? - Ammoland.com
On January 30, 2025, Governor Albert Bryan Jr. stated a new policy of restoring Second Amendment rights should be attempted in the United States Virgin Islands. If it happens, it will be an extraordinary reversal in policy. The United States Virgin Islands have the most restrictive firearms laws in the United States. They are more restrictive than Hawaii or the District of Columbia. From the viconsortium.com:
“I think the Virgin Islands gun policy has totally failed,” said Governor Albert Bryan Jr., speaking during Wednesday’s exclusive interview with the Consortium.
He was responding to a question about how the territory could possibly stem the influx of unlicensed, unregistered firearms into the territory.
“What happens is – when you tell somebody no, the temptation is more,” Governor Bryan argued, referring to the territory’s strict gun ownership regulations. “The states with the toughest gun laws get the highest homicide rates,” he declared.
“I think we should move to a place where we open gun ranges that are legal and we make it easier for people to license and carry firearms,” Governor Bryan stated. He argued that the percentage of Virgin Islanders who carry unregistered weapons for reasons of ill-intent is very small, while the majority of residents carry firearms because “they’re trying to protect themselves, or feel protected.”

PA Supreme Court Agrees to Hear Case Challenging Philadelphia’s “Ghost Gun” Ban - Ammoland.com
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has granted a petition for allowance of appeal in a case that challenges a Philadelphia ordinance banning privately manufactured firearms (PMF).
The case was filed in state court by Gun Owners of America (GOA) and Gun Owners Foundation (GOF) after the City of Philadelphia passed a city ordinance that restricted the manufacturing of firearms, components, and attachments for personal use by residents. Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker and former Mayor Jim Kennedy both claimed that so-called “ghost guns” were flooding the streets of the City of Brotherly Love, leading to an epidemic of gun violence, even though the raw data doesn’t back that conclusion.
The ordinance doesn’t just ban building guns from 80% frame kits such as those sold by the now defunct Polymer80, but it also forbids the making of firearms via additive manufacturing such as 3D printing. Nowhere else in the state is this practice banned, and state law doesn’t say you can’t 3D print a gun. In fact, Pennsylvania is the home of the Makers Match, which is a shooting competition that uses 3D-printed firearms.

Debate Over Nassau ‘Militia’ Focuses on Wrong Understanding of Founding Intent - Ammoland.com
“Democrats in suburban New York are suing a Republican county executive over his creation of an armed unit of volunteer residents, saying it amounts to an illegal, taxpayer-funded civilian militia,’” the Associated Press reported in early February. “Nassau County Democratic lawmakers argue in their complaint filed Wednesday that Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman lacked the legal authority to form a cadre of special sheriff’s deputies with ‘authority to use deadly force and make arrests under color of law.’”
The objection to what they’re calling a “militia” is curious because Democrats are the ones who always scream, “It says ‘well-regulated!’” whenever some gun owner asks, “What part of ‘shall not be infringed’ don’t you understand?”
The volunteer program, intended to supplement police forces and help out in emergencies when regular first responders are overwhelmed, would require classroom instruction and practical firing range training, and “deputies would be assigned to protect government buildings, hospitals and critical infrastructure, and not be used to quell protests or patrol streets,” Blakeman counters, calling the complaint “frivolous” and defamatory to “the 26 volunteers sworn in to date, many of whom are retired military and law enforcement officers.”
