Ok, that was interesting.

The dogs started alerting me to something going on outside. This time it was the FedEx guy delivering across the street. I was up, had my first grab (FEG AP 765) in hand and was heading for the door. I reached for my bedroom door knob just as a loud crack of thunder happened. I got my bedroom door opened maybe and inch when it got slammed back into my face by the 3 "Big" dogs trying their best to get into "PawPaw's" room.

The door almost knocked me over.  Kyah, Stella and Clay DID knock me over.

So I'm laying splayed out on the floor, with Kyah, Stella, Clay, Layla, Skeeter, Ariel and my cat Ghost ALL trying to climb inside my shirt. And Gemma is outside scratching and barking at the door telling me she wants IN!

First thing, check the FEG, (Safety still on) holster it, (Kind of hard to do while laying under 6 dogs and a cat.), reach for my cane (which somehow wound up on the floor outside my room and almost in the kitchen).  Get myself up after calming down the dogs, crawl to my cane because my back, neck and hip are SCREAMING at me.  Finally get my cane and scramble up to a somewhat upright position.  Hobble over to the door, and Gemma while she wants in ISN'T getting out from underneath the grill to do it.

And there is more thunder.

I'm going to take my meds and lay down until this front has finished moving through.

From the Inbox - 4 Questions. Different versions have been around but worth a second look

Here are 4 Simple questions from an attorney...are there ANY logical answers ?

                   You be the judge……

Here's what I would like to know.  If the TRUTH ever comes out and it is decided that Obama was never eligible to be president, what happens to all the laws he signed into being and all the executive orders?  Should they all be null and void?

Here are 4 Simple questions from a reputable attorney...This really should get your "gray matter" to churning, even if you are an Obama fan.  I wouldn't want my hero to be made out to be a liar, would you?

For all you "anti-Fox News" folks, none of this information came from Fox.  All of it can be verified from legitimate sources (Wikipedia, the Kapiolani hospital website itself, and a good history book, as noted herein).  It is very easy for someone to check out.

4 Simple Questions .....

1. Back in 1961 people of color were called 'Negroes'.  So how can the Obama 'birth certificate' state he is "African-American" when the term wasn't even used at that time ?

2. The birth certificate that the White House released lists Obama's birth as August 4, 1961 & Lists Barack Hussein Obama as his father.  No big deal, Right?  At the time of Obama's birth, it also shows that his father is aged 25 years old,
and that Obama's father was born in " Kenya , East Africa ".

This wouldn't seem like anything of concern, except the fact that Kenya did not even exist until 1963, two whole years after Obama's birth, and 27 years after his father's birth.  How could Obama's father have been born in a country that did not yet Exist ?
Up and until Kenya was formed in 1963, it was known as the "British East Africa Protectorate". (check below)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenya_%28http:/en.wikipedia..org/wiki/Kenya%29

3. On the Birth Certificate released by the White House, the listed place of birth is "Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital".
This cannot be, because the hospital(s) in question in 1961 were called "KauiKeolani Children's Hospital" and "Kapi'olani Maternity Home", Respectively.
The name did not change to Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital until 1978, when these two hospitals merged. How can this particular name of the hospital be on a birth certificate dated 1961 if this name had not yet been applied to it until 1978?

Why hasn't this been discussed in the major media?

4. Perhaps a clue comes from Obama's book on his father. He states how proud he is of his father fighting in WW II. I'm not a math genius, so I may need some help from you. Barack Obama's "birth certificate" says his father was 25 years old in 1961 when Obama was born. That should have put his father's date of birth approximately 1936 - if my math holds (Honest! I did that without a calculator!) Now we need a non-revised history book-one that hasn't been altered to satisfy the author's goals-to verify that WW II was basically between 1939 and 1945. Just how many 3 year olds fight in Wars? Even in the latest stages of WW II his father wouldn't have been more than 9 years old. Does that mean that Mr. Obama is a liar, or simply chooses to alter the facts to satisfy his imagination or political purposes ?

Just who or what, has already taken out EIGHT Security Squads?

To find out, you'll have to go under the fold

Growing Food after an Apocalypse

Kenny posts a letter from a reader about growing you own after a breakdown. I highly recommend reading it, however it does leave out a few things I'll detail after the link.

"Over time there’s been a few posts concerning aspects of survival, post TSHTF beyond beans, bullets and TP, so I thought I would throw out something for your consideration.

Have you ever felt you had something in the bag only to wake up one night at 2 am, in cold sweat, with the realization the bag has a hole in the bottom big enough to drive a Mack truck through?

Or how about recognizing that as far as you went, it wasn’t quite far enough?

Another one that hits home is, You don’t know what you don’t know.

With the three above thoughts in mind the following is a discourse of an overlooked facet of extended (measured in years) survival when you are doing it all, or at least most of it, on your own. I am going to examine a relatively narrow aspect of the act of growing and producing your own food."

One thing left out was that “Organic” farming is extremely labor intensive, requiring twice if not more acreage to be planted for the same yield. So when everything does GTHIHB, once you secure home and hearth, you will need to lay out your garden for at minimum twice as much land area as you may have planned on. This will require also twice as much ground preparation, twice as much, irrigation, and twice as much labor. If not MORE.

Look to the Amish, and how much work they do, and how much arable land they have to use to feed their families.

I'm not saying that I am an expert on farming.  I'm just a kid who spent many many summers on my uncle's farm, visiting other uncle's, aunt's and cousin's who also farmed.  I helped raise cattle, hogs, chickens, horses, mules, and even a couple of emu's and turkey's.  I helped harvest soybeans, sorghum, rape, feed corn, barley and other grains in the field, and fruits and vegetables from the gardens and orchards.  I spent many hours talking to my various relatives, asking questions and learning by doing.  And while they "Industrially" farmed to have product to sell, almost every garden plot, averaged 2-3 acres just to ensure there was enough food to help last through winter until the first harvest.

Several of my relatives farms, had 2 or more large root cellars dug into the earth.  And by large I mean 8 or 10 feet wide by 25 or more feet long.  I remember playing in one root cellar outside of Thayer, Missouri that could have fit 2 or 3 pickup trucks and a couple tractors in.  It belonged to a neighbor of one uncle's, who had 9 kids, and it was being built to replace 3 smaller root cellars that had started to collapse after some really heavy rains.

So if you are making preps, don't just buy a pack or two off seed and think that's all you need to do.  There is a LOT more that you need supply AND knowledge wise.

Mini Review Allpowers 18V 28 Watt Solar Charger

YouTube has me tearing out my hair.  And I don't have that much left to tear out.

This is just a mini review.  I'll be testing this charger more and more to see how it works out for me.  I will be working it up to use with a 12V Charge controller to see both how it handles charging larger batteries plus how well it works with various 12v accessories and charging my various camera batteries and stuff.

If you would like to see more stuff like this, leave me a comment.  I've been thinking about doing a video on some lightweight camping gear and also some more videos on emergency preparedness.

B.O.L. Be On the Lookout!! Gun Theft Corpus Christi Gun Show

These two people are on video of stealing one handgun and possibly a second handgun and a notebook computer. They are also suspected of hitting a friend of mine's pickup truck outside in the parking lot.

"Corpus Christi police detectives need the public's help identifying a couple they believe stole a firearm at a gun show.

The owner of a the gun told police a man and woman collaborated to steal a stainless steel Derringer pistol from a display table at a gun show Sunday at the Al Amin Shrine Temple.

Surveillance video, released Wednesday by police, shows a man walking up to the table while talking on a cellphone, according to a police news release."

In that video the lady in the back right wearing the pink shirt is my friend's wife. They had their own table at the show.

If you know who this people are are having any information about them or their whereabouts call the Corpus Christi Police Criminal Investigations Division at (361) 886-2840.

Or you can call Corpus Christi Crime Stoppers by calling (361) 888-8477 or online at http://www.888TIPS.com

If you blog in the Corpus Area, please consider posting this on your blog.

Ian at Forgotten Weapons needs some help - Fully FUNDED!!

Published on Aug 27, 2015

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/pancor-jackhammer-video-trip/

I have been offered a chance to do a video on a real live example of a Pancor Jackhammer - one of only a couple examples in existence. I would love to do it, but it requires me to fly cross-country for just this video and I simply don't have the budget to do that. So, I am running an IndieGoGo campaign to fund my travel costs. If enough folks are interested in getting a look at this gun, I will be able to make it happen.

I may or may not be able to shoot it - I am still waiting to get confirmation on that one way or the other from the owner. So I can't promise firing footage, but I can promise history and complete disassembly.

I went up over 6000 posts.  Wow.  6000+ posts and I forgot my own anniversary of when I started blogging back in May of 2007.  According to Blogger, I've got over  715k page views in those 8+ years and I've averaging about 23k page views a month.  I screenshotted my all time state for page views, maybe you'll find them intersting.

Prog Rock Day

Progressive Rock 1971 USA
Tracklist:
01. All Of Them Witches (8:56)
02. Done (5:48)
03. Sins (4:47)
04. Look Again (11:05)
05. Wasted Time (4:48)
06. Iceberg (5:13)
bonus tracks
07. Done (mono 45 version) (2:53)
08. Sins (mono 45 version) (2:57)

The sole album from this Levittown (US) quintet is an interesting amalgamation of prog, hard rock and psychedelic.
The lengthy opener, “All of Them Witches” appears to be a thinly-veiled anti-drug song, whose lyrics can be interpreted as a symbolic diatribe about the vocalist’s heroin-ravaged friends. Belsky’s nasty guitar solos are vicious but thankfully don’t succumb to overindulgence. Side One concludes with both sides of the band’s only single, “Done” which are also presented as bonus tracks in their original (tighter and shorter by almost half) mono mixes. Elaborate solo keyboard arrangements may appeal to Yes and Asia fans.
Female vocalist, Lyne Bunn takes the mic on the flip, “Sins” which she co-wrote with Belsky, and which is also a typical early-70s bar band rocker, with Belsky’s guitar runs a little more flamboyant this time around.
The tender, dreamy ballad, “Wasted Time” once again features Belsky’s tasty guitar solos married to Venier’s Pink Floydian, wah-wah keyboard flourishes. It’s easily a winner.
Still, fans of 1970s hard rock may get a few spins out of the epic side two opener, the 11+ minute, “Look Again”, which opens with Venier’s ruminating solo, a la Jethro Tull’s “Locomotive Breath”. The ensuing 5-minute jam is highlighted once again by Belsky’s mouthwatering soloing and drummer, John Fragos’ voracious skinpounding. This is early 1970s hard rock with that “local bar band” feel.
The band was ready to record another album when they had problems with their management and ended up splitting.

- Richard Belsky / lead guitar
- Lyne Bunn (Joey Lyne) / vocals, percussion
- John Fragos / drums, percussion, gong
- Jim Monahan / vocals, guitar
- Tom Rubino / bass
- Paul Venier / vocals, keyboards, percussion
