"House Speaker John A. Boehner announced on Wednesday that members will no longer be allowed to travel by military aircraft on Congressional delegation trips.

The Ohio Republican told members that because of the spending cuts mandated by sequestration, he will cut the costs of the taxpayer funded trips by suspending the standard military aircraft and making members fly commercial."

I have to fly commercial when I fly.  I haven't won the lottery yet so I cannot afford my own private plane.  So why not make all the Government employees fly commercial?  Yes, congressmen and Congresswomen and Senators are Government Employees.  they just seem to forget that they are.

We need to remind them.  Often.

Alternative Energy is good, but it does have limitations

I currently have 250 Watts of solar panels here at Casa De GreyLocke, and I have the parts to build 3 Wind Generators which would give me an additional 900 Watts.  However like everything there are limitations to them.

Such as cloudy days, windless days, stormy days, days with wind so high that wind generators would be destroyed.  Plus their cost and return on investment.

Like I said Limitations.

Solar Panels that I can afford on my very limited budget are running between 6 and 7 dollars a Watt.  Then you add in shipping, and the high cost of tie-in hardware and electronics, and my final cost runs about 12 dollars a Watt.  Large Energy Companies can amortize their purchases of wind turbines and solar panels, I cannot.  Therefore, for them once you add in Federal Subsidies, they can get prices of about 1.50 to 2.30 a Watt.

So for me to add more panels or to finish up my Wind Generators it is very cost prohibitive.

Now lets discuss the many states which have a very high investment in Alternative/Green Energy.

"The epidemic of power outages and “rolling blackouts” which nearly shut down California in the early 2000s may be returning. Back then, the culprits were unscrupulous energy providers like Enron and a poorly-thought out process of deregulation. This time, renewable energy would be to blame, as the state has pushed to increase the use of solar and wind energy without ensuring that there is enough traditional power generation to keep the grid stable on cloudy, windless days."

See.  No wind, no sun equals NO ELECTRICITY.

And many states which are embracing Alt-E/Green Energy are finding out that they still need to have backup generation, and they don't have it.  With the closing of many older coal burning plants, there is less and less generation capacity available.  Which means that even with bright cloud free days, our energy prices will HAVE to go up.

Something to think about.

Obama wants the Federal Government to overstep

it's Constitutional Authority AGAIN!!!

"Today, according to reports, Obama may continue his evolution on gay marriage and fight to deny California voters the right to settle this issue at the ballot box. NBC's Pete Williams reports that Obama's Justice Department will file a brief arguing that California's constitutional amendment establishing marriage as a union between one man and one woman violates the federal constitution. "Specifics — including the breadth of the administration's argument — remain unknown, although a brief should be filed later Thursday," reports Buzzfeed's Chris Geidner."

Flip flopping from his previous statements say that the matter of Same sex marriage is a States Rights issue.  Now he is having his DOJ interfere in a State's Law, which has been voted upon by the voters of that state.

Just one more tie that binds the Constitution.

A  commentary out of none other than the Washington Post.
Finally, the Washington Post speaks out on Obama! This is very brutal, timely though. As I'm sure you know, the Washington Post newspaper has a reputation for being extremely liberal. So the fact that its editor saw fit to print the following article about Obama in its newspaper makes this a truly amazing event and a news story in and of itself. At last, the truth about our President and his obvious socialist agenda are starting to trickle through the "protective wall" built around him by our liberal media.
I too have become disillusioned
By Matt Patterson (columnist - Washington Post, New York Post, San Francisco Examiner)
Years from now, historians may regard the 2008 election of Barack Obama as an inscrutable and disturbing phenomenon, the result of a baffling breed of mass hysteria akin perhaps to the witch craze of the Middle Ages. How, they will wonder, did a man so devoid of professional accomplishment beguile so many into thinking he could manage the world's largest economy, direct the world's most powerful military, execute the world's most consequential job? Imagine a future historian examining Obama's pre-presidential life: ushered into and through the Ivy League despite unremarkable grades and test scores along the way; a cushy non-job as a "community organizer"; a brief career as a state legislator devoid of legislative achievement (and in fact nearly devoid of his attention, so often did he vote "present"); and finally an unaccomplished single term in the United States Senate, the entirety of which was devoted to his presidential ambitions.
He left no academic legacy in academia, authored no signature legislation as a legislator. And then there is the matter of his troubling associations: the white-hating, America-loathing preacher who for decades served as Obama's "spiritual mentor"; a real-life, actual terrorist who served as Obama's colleague and political sponsor. It is easy to imagine a future historian looking at it all and asking: how on Earth was such a man elected president?
Not content to wait for history, the incomparable Norman Podhoretz addressed the question recently in the Wall Street Journal: To be sure, no white candidate who had close associations with an outspoken hater of America like Jeremiah Wright and an unrepentant terrorist like Bill Ayers, would have lasted a single day. But because Mr. Obama was black, and therefore entitled in the eyes of liberal Dom to have hung out with protesters against various American injustices, even if they were a bit extreme, he was given a pass. Let that sink in: Obama was given a pass - held to a lower standard - because of the color of his skin.
Podhoretz continues: And in any case, what did such ancient history matter when he was also so articulate and elegant and (as he himself had said) "non-threatening," all of which gave him a fighting chance to become the first black president and thereby to lay the curse of racism to rest?
Podhoretz puts his finger, I think, on the animating pulse of the Obama phenomenon - affirmative action. Not in the legal sense, of course. But certainly in the motivating sentiment behind all affirmative action laws and regulations, which are designed primarily to make white people, and especially white liberals, feel good about themselves.
Unfortunately, minorities often suffer so that whites can pat themselves on the back. Liberals routinely admit minorities to schools for which they are not qualified, yet take no responsibility for the inevitable poor performance and high drop-out rates which follow. Liberals don't care if these minority students fail; liberals aren't around to witness the emotional devastation and deflated self-esteem resulting from the racist policy that is affirmative action. Yes, racist. Holding someone to a separate standard merely because of the color of his skin - that's affirmative action in a nutshell, and if that isn't racism, then nothing is.
And that is what America did to Obama. True, Obama himself was never troubled by his lack of achievements, but why would he be? As many have noted, Obama was told he was good enough for Columbia despite undistinguished grades at Occidental; he was told he was good enough for the US Senate despite a mediocre record in Illinois; he was told he was good enough to be president despite no record at all in the Senate. All his life, every step of the way, Obama was told he was good enough for the next step, in spite of ample evidence to the contrary.
What could this breed if not the sort of empty narcissism on display every time Obama speaks? In 2008, many who agreed that he lacked executive qualifications nonetheless raved about Obama's oratory skills, intellect, and cool character. Those people - conservatives included - ought now to be deeply embarrassed.
The man thinks and speaks in the hoariest of clichés, and that's when he has his Teleprompters in front of him; when the prompter is absent he can barely think or speak at all. Not one original idea has ever issued from his mouth - it's all warmed-over Marxism of the kind that has failed over and over again for 100 years.
And what about his character? Obama is constantly blaming anything and everything else for his troubles. Bush did it; it was bad luck; I inherited this mess. It is embarrassing to see a president so willing to advertise his own powerlessness, so comfortable with his own incompetence. But really, what were we to expect? The man has never been responsible for anything, so how do we expect him to act responsibly?
In short: our president is a small and small-minded man, with neither the temperament nor the intellect to handle his job. When you understand that, and only when you understand that, will the current erosion of liberty and prosperity make sense. It could not have gone otherwise with such a man in the Oval Office.
Please pass this on after you read this one. Suddenly people are getting wise to this enemy of our USA

The Obama Administration is making threats to reporters

"Former Obama campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith also opined: "Woodward deserves a lot of credit for taking a macro story about DC dysfunction, competing econ theories & making it all about him," she said.

In the column at the center of the storm, Woodward writes the White House has been deliberately disingenuous about its role in the sequester, and accused Obama of "moving the goal posts" by insisting Republicans agree to new tax revenue as part of any substitute for the sequester. "That was not the deal he made," he says."

Bob Woodward writes the truth and the Obama Administration is throwing a hissy fit about getting fact checked by a real reporter.

Scottish three-kick rule-from the inbox

Three SCOTTISH Kick Rule'
A Glasgow lawyer went duck hunting in rural Aberdeenshire . He shot and dropped a bird, but it fell into a farmer's field on the other side of a fence.

As the lawyer climbed over the fence, an elderly farmer drove up on his tractor and asked him what he was doing. The litigator responded, "I shot a duck and it fell in this field, and now I'm going to retrieve it."

The old farmer Peter replied, "This is my property, and you are not coming over here."

The indignant lawyer said, "I am one of the best trial lawyers in Scotlandand, if you don't let me get that duck, I'll sue you and take everything you own."

The old farmer smiled and said, "Apparently, you don't know how we settle disputes in Mintlaw. We settle small disagreements like this with the 'Three Kick Rule.'

The lawyer asked, "What is the 'Three Kick Rule'?"

The Farmer replied, "Well, because the dispute occurs on my land, I get to go first. I kick you three times and then you kick me three times and so on back and forth until someone gives up."

The lawyer quickly thought about the proposed contest and decided that he could easily take the old codger. He agreed to abide by the local custom.

The old farmer slowly climbed down from the tractor and walked up to the attorney. His first kick planted the toe of his heavy steel-toed work boot into the lawyer's groin and dropped him to his knees!

His second kick to the midriff sent the lawyer's last meal gushing from his mouth. The lawyer was on all fours when the farmer's third kick to his rear end, sent him face-first into a fresh cow pie.

Summoning every bit of his will and remaining strength the lawyer very slowly managed to get to his feet. Wiping his face with the arm of his jacket, he said, "Okay, you old fart. Now it's my turn."

(I love this part)

The old farmer smiled and said, "Nah, I give up. You can have the duck."

Some Pearl Harbor Facts -great read! - from the inbox

Tour boats ferry people out to the USS Arizona Memorial in Hawaii every thirty minutes.  We just missed a ferry and had to wait thirty minutes.. I went into a small gift shop to kill time. In the gift shop, I purchased a small book entitled, "Reflections on Pearl Harbor" by Admiral Chester Nimitz.

Sunday, December 7th, 1941--Admiral Chester Nimitz was attending a concert in Washington D.C.  He was paged and told there was a phone call for him.  When he answered the phone, it was President Franklin Delano Roosevelt on the phone.  He told Admiral Nimitz that he (Nimitz) would now be the Commander of the Pacific Fleet.
Admiral Nimitz flew to Hawaii to assume command of the Pacific Fleet.  He landed at Pearl Harbor on Christmas Eve, 1941.  There was such a spirit of despair, dejection and defeat--you would have thought the Japanese had already won the war.  On Christmas Day, 1941, Adm. Nimitz was given a boat tour of the destruction wrought on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese.. Big sunken battleships and navy vessels cluttered the waters every where you looked.

As the tour boat returned to dock, the young helmsman of the boat asked, "Well Admiral, what do you think after seeing all this destruction?"  Admiral Nimitz's reply shocked everyone within the sound of his voice. Admiral Nimitz said, "The Japanese made three of the biggest mistakes an attack force could ever make, or God was taking care of America. Which do you think it was?"

Shocked and surprised, the young helmsman asked, "What do mean by saying the Japanese made the three biggest mistakes an attack force ever made?"

Nimitz explained:

Mistake number one: the Japanese attacked on Sunday morning.  Nine out of every ten crewmen of those ships were ashore on leave.  If those same ships had been lured to sea and been sunk--we would have lost 38,000 men instead of 3,800.

Mistake number two: when the Japanese saw all those battleships lined in a row, they got so carried away sinking those battleships, they never once bombed our dry docks opposite those ships.  If they had destroyed our dry docks, we would have had to tow every one of those ships to America to be repaired.  As it is now, the ships are in shallow water and can be raised.  One tug can pull them over to the dry docks, and we can have them repaired and at sea by the time we could have towed them to America.  And I already have crews ashore anxious to man those ships.

Mistake number three: every drop of fuel in the Pacific theater of war is in top of the ground storage tanks five miles away over that hill. One attack plane could have strafed those tanks and destroyed our fuel supply.  That's why I say the Japanese made three of the biggest mistakes an attack force could make or God was taking care of America.

I've never forgotten what I read in that little book.  It is still an inspiration as I reflect upon it.  In jest, I might suggest that because Admiral Nimitz was a Texan, born and raised in Fredricksburg, Texas --he was a born optimist.  But anyway you look at it--Admiral Nimitz was able to see a silver lining in a situation and circumstance where everyone else saw only despair and defeatism.

President Roosevelt had chosen the right man for the right job.  We desperately needed a leader that could see silver linings in the midst of the clouds of dejection, despair and defeat.
There is a reason that our national motto is,    IN GOD WE TRUST  .

New York Boycott Update

In my earlier post HERE I discussed about going after the suppliers of companies that were on the "Naughty" list and not boycotting the State that restricted the rights of all Americans.  Sean sent me a link to a post that gives me and should give everyone else food for thought.

"So I’m beginning to wonder if this whole “boycott” is going to turn into our own worst enemy.  We’ve known for a while that the civilian market for firearms has some serious muscle behind it, but I’m beginning to wonder if some are trying to flex it when in the grand scheme we really shouldn’t be."

Please click that and go RTWT.  We need to figure a way which will make our displeasure known, but at the same time we need to consider all the ramifications.

Are you looking for an AR-15?

I was at one of the largest guns stores in the Corpus Christi Texas area earlier today and they had 14 AR-15's in their racks when I was there.

If you are interested in getting one here is the store information.

If you do wind up giving them a call please tell them, that a local blogger and customer sent ya.

They are the only gunstore I've found locally to me so far who carries a decent selection of stuff for muzzleloaders.  Now if I can just convince them to order a sleeve of the RWS #11 caps, I'll buy 'em.

And for the FTC, I'm not being paid for this.  I am a customer of several local gunstores including Academy Sporting goods, several Pawn Shops and others.  I'm am posting this for my readers benefit not mine.

Court Finds Sea Shepherd anti-Whaling Group is PIRATES

Late Monday, the United States' largest federal court labeled them pirates."

Remember them?  I talked about those I.D.10T.'s in THIS POST.

Now a Federal Judge has found them to be a Pirate Organization.  However Sea Shepherd seems to be insisting they are trying to enforce an Australian Judgement against the Japanese Whalers.

Since when does a "PRIVATE" Organization enforce other countries laws and judgements?  And what authority do they do so?

Paul Watson is going to get someone killed with his actions, but he doesn't care.  If one of his member gets killed or seriously injured he will raise them up as a "Martyr" to the cause.

If someone does get seriously hurt or killed, he, Paul Watson, need to be charged in their injury or death.

Paul Watson's leadership brought his organization members there.  If one of them gets hurt or dies "HE" is respnsible.

If a Japanese sailor gets hurt or killed, Paul Watson and all the people on the boat or craft, (They have a helicopter which they used to throw glass jars filled with acids, urine and feces on to the Japanese ships) need to be criminally charged for their actions.

In short Paul Watson and his organization should be held accountable for their actions.  Yes the whaling should stop.  However that is what the "Courts" are for.  Not his idiotic crusade that WILL wind up getting someone seriously injured or killed.

Something to think about-very scary-from the inbox

Something to think about-very scary

Do you know who Juval Aviv is? He was Golda Meir's bodyguard and the Israeli Agent upon whom the movie '  Munich ' was based. Golda Meir appointed him to track down and bring to justice the Palestinian terrorists who took the Israeli athletes hostage and killed them during the Munich Olympic Games. In a lecture in  New York City a few weeks ago, Aviv shared information that EVERY American needs to know,   but that our government has not yet shared with us.

A little background: Aviv predicted the  London subway bombing on the Bill O'Reilly show on Fox News, stating publicly that it would happen within a week. At the time, O'Reilly laughed and mocked him, saying that in a week he wanted Aviv back on the show. Unfortunately, within a week the terrorist attack had occurred. Juval Aviv also gave intelligence to the Bush Administration about 9/11 a month before it occurred. His report specifically said that they would use planes as bombs and target high profile buildings and monuments... I think we all know what happened, right? Congress has since hired him as a security consultant.

Aviv predicts that the next terrorist attack on the  U.S. will occur within the next few months. Forget hijacking airplanes, because he says terrorists will NEVER try hijacking a plane again as they know the people on board will never go down quietly again. Aviv says that our airport security is a joke – that we have been reactionary rather than proactive in developing strategies that are truly effective. For example, because an idiot tried to light his shoe on fire, now everyone has to take off their shoes. Example 2: a group of idiots tried to bring aboard liquid explosives, and now we can't bring liquids on board. He says he's waiting for some suicidal maniac to pour liquid explosive on his underwear; government security will then have us all traveling naked! Last but not least, our airport security looks for metal, but the new explosives are made of plastic!

Currently, our government only focuses on security when people are heading to the gates. Aviv says that if a terrorist attack targets airports in the future, they will target busy times on the front end of the airport when/where people are checking in. For example, it would be easy for someone to take two suitcases of explosives, walk up to a busy check-in line, ask a person next to them to watch their bags for a minute while they run to the restroom, and then detonate the bags BEFORE security even gets involved. In  Israel , security checks bags BEFORE people can even ENTER the airport.

Aviv says the next terrorist attack here in America is imminent and will involve suicide bombers and non-suicide bombers in places where large groups of people congregate, such as Disneyland, Las Vegas casinos, shopping malls, subways in rush hour, train stations, etc., as well as in rural America this time (Wyoming, Montana, etc.). The attack will be characterized by simultaneous detonations around the country involving at least 5-8 cities, including rural areas. Aviv says terrorists won't need to use suicide bombers in many of the larger cities, because at places like the MGM Grand in  Las Vegas , they can simply valet park a car loaded with explosives and walk away.

Aviv says all of the above is well known in intelligence circles, but that our U.S. Government does not want to 'alarm American citizens' with the facts. The world, however, is soon going to become 'a different place', Aviv says, where issues like 'global warming' and political correctness will have become totally irrelevant.

On an encouraging note, Aviv says that Americans don't have to be concerned about being nuked. He says the terrorists who want to destroy  America will not use sophisticated weapons. Instead, they like to use suicide, as it's cheap, it's easy, and it's effective – and they have an infinite abundance of young, ignorant, fanatic militants more than willing to 'go see Allah'.

Aviv also says the next level of terrorists over which  America should be most concerned will not be coming from abroad. They will instead be 'home grown' – meaning they will have attended and been educated in our own schools and universities right here in the  U.S.    These young terrorists will be most dangerous because they will know our language and will fully understand the habits of Americans; but that we Americans won't know/understand a thing about them.

So, what can  America do to protect itself? From an intelligence perspective, Aviv says the  U.S. needs to stop relying on satellites and technology for its intelligence. Instead, we need to follow  Israel 's,  Ireland 's and  England 's hands-on examples of human intelligence, both from an infiltration perspective as well as to trust 'aware' citizens to help. We need to engage and educate ourselves as citizens; however, our U.S. Government continues to treat us, its citizens, 'like babies'. Our government thinks we can't handle the truth' and are concerned that we'll panic if we understand the realities of terrorism. Aviv says this is a deadly mistake.

Aviv recently created/executed a security test for Congress by placing an empty briefcase in five well-traveled spots in five major cities. The results? Not one person called 911 or sought a policeman to check it out. In fact, in  Chicago , someone tried to steal the briefcase!

In comparison, Aviv says that citizens of  Israel are so well 'trained' that an unattended bag or package would be reported in seconds by citizen(s) who know to publicly shout, 'Unattended Bag!' The area would be quickly & calmly cleared by the citizens themselves. But, unfortunately,  America hasn't been 'hurt enough' yet by terrorism for their government to fully understand the need to educate its citizens or for the government to understand that it's the citizens who are, inevitably, the best first-line of defense against terrorism.

Aviv also was concerned about the high number of children who were in preschool and kindergarten after 9/11, children who were basically 'lost' without parents being able to pick them up, and schools that had no plan in place to best care for the students until their parents could get there. (In  New York City , in some cases this was days!) He stresses the importance of having a plan that's agreed upon within your family, to respond to in the event of a terrorist emergency. He urges parents to contact their children's schools and demand that the schools, too, develop plans of actions, as they do in  Israel . He says we should all have a plan that is easy enough for even our youngest children to remember and follow.

Does your family know what to do if you can't contact one another by phone? Where would you gather in an emergency? Aviv says that the U.S. Government has in force a plan that, in the event of another terrorist attack, will immediately cut-off EVERYONE's ability to use cell phones, as this is the preferred communication source used by terrorists and is often the way that their bombs are detonated. How will you communicate with your loved ones in the event you cannot use phones, internet? Bottom line, you need to have a plan!

If you believe what you have just read, then you must feel compelled to send it to every concerned parent or guardian, grandparents, uncles, aunts, whatever and whomever. Nothing will happen if you choose not to do so, but in the event it does happen, I promise this particular email will haunt you -- "I should have sent this to...", but I didn't believe it and just deleted it as so much trash.

WALKING THE DOG

Reportedly, a woman was flying from Seattle to San Francisco.Unexpectedly,
The plane was diverted to Sacramento along the way.
The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft the plane would re-board in 50 minutes..
Everybody got off the
plane except one lady Who was blind.
A man had noticed her as he walked by and could tell the lady was blind because her guide dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of her throughout the entire flight..
He could also tell she had flown this very flight before because the pilot approached her, and calling her by name, said, "Kathy, we are in Sacramento for almost an hour. Would you like to get off and stretch your legs?"
The blind lady said,
"No thanks, but maybe Buddy Would like to stretch
his legs."
All the people in the gate area came to a complete stand still when they looked up and saw the pilot walk off the plane with a guide dog for the blind!
Even worse, the pilot was wearing sunglasses !
People scattered.
They not only tried to change planes, But they were trying to change airlines!
True story.....
Have a great day

President Transparency denied Senate Sequester Compromise

"I received word from a source who works with the “other side” on the Hill that a handful of Senators was preparing a sequester compromise to be worked up and presented to Reid’s office by today. Word of that compromise got out and reached the White House. I am guessing it was someone working for Reid who relayed that information. Regardless, it was the very next day that a staffer for one of the Senators working the compromise deal received word from Legislative Affairs to not under any circumstances continue to produce a compromise, or publicize any such deal."

Now we KNOW that Obama is trying to use the Sequester to "Punish" Republicans.  He doesn't care about anything else, just that he has to beat down on the Republicans and destroy any integrity they have.

Interesting reading.

Economy News you NEED to read

"We know from a body of scholarship that fiscal belt-tightening in countries with a debt above 80pc to 90pc of GDP is painful and typically self-defeating unless offset by loose money. The evidence is before our eyes in Greece, Portugal, and Spain. Tight money has led to self-feeding downward spirals. If bondyields are higher thannominal GDP growth, the compound effects are deadly.

America may soon get a first taste of this, carrying out the epic fiscal squeeze needed to bring its debt trajectory back under control with less and less Fed help. Gross public debt will hit 107pc of GDP by next year, and higher if the recovery falters as pessimists fear."

Texas gets it right, runs a budget surplus

"Add another notch to Texas’s growing list of achievements: The Lone Star State is projected to run an $8.8 billion dollar surplus at a time when other states are struggling to pay the bills. The surplus comes thanks to a mix of spending cuts, increased tax revenue, economic recovery, and the shale gas boom. As the Economist reports, this has given lawmakers the opportunity to fund new spending priorities during a slow national recovery:"

Maybe we need Texas Legislature to fix the problem in D.C.

As long as they are not dinging users who are sharing files that are not copyrighted, such as the Defense Distributed Files, the CD3WD Files and a whole host of other types of files that are legal for sharing, I really don't see a problem with this.  My only quibble would be the possibility of false positives, and people getting dinged for that.

Get raped speak up about it get expelled for it?

"A University of North Carolina sexual assault victim has been charged with violating the school's honor code and creating a hostile environment for her attacker, according to Jezebel.com.

The charge came approximately a month after Landen Gambill, a sophomore at UNC—who last spring reported being raped by a student she says is still on campus—filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights. She, as well as others who filed with her—including current and former students, and Melinda Manning, the school's former assistant dean of students—allege that the school had pressured Manning into underreporting sex offense cases.

An email sent by the school last week to Gambill—who says she's facing possible expulsion for speaking out about her ordeal— reads in part:

I.C.1.c. - Disruptive or intimidating behavior that willfully abuses, disparages, or otherwise interferes with another (other than on the basis of protected classifications identified and addressed in the University's Policy on Prohibited Harassment and Discrimination) so as to adversely affect their academic pursuits, opportunities for University employment, participation in University-sponsored extracurricular activities, or opportunities to benefit from other aspects of University Life.

The matter has been turned over to UNC's Honor Court. If found guilty, Gambill could be subject to a range of sanctions, including probation, suspension or even expulsion."

Please click the above and go RTWT, but the University of North Carolina needs to quit worrying about their image and start worrying about the safety of their students.  You know the students who are also your CUSTOMERS....  They are paying you to get an education, and you are more worried about your public image than you are about the safety of your customers?

WOW!!! And I thought Institutions of Higher Education were supposed to be bastions of virtue.

If you have an NFA Trust you need to read this

"The New York Times reports that gun trusts are intended to allow the owner of a firearm to pass down his or her weapons to family members in a responsible way. But a loophole in the federal law has other benefits, some of them potentially troubling to gun control advocates.

The Times explains that when trust members buy "restricted firearms through a trust," they are exempt from rules that would apply to individual buyers. Things like "being fingerprinted, obtaining the approval of a chief local law enforcement officer and undergoing a background check" are not required."

Contact your Representative NOW!  This could have very far reaching implications.

But I didn't find this on my own it was in one of the multitude of blogs over on the right in one of my 3 blogrolls

That;s ok Roberta.  I have a similar problem with Planters Nutty Bars.

As if the crime problem in Chicago wasn't bad enough

"Farrakhan told a crowd of more than 7,000 people at the UIC Pavilion that national lawmakers are using Chicago's violence epidemic to push for stronger gun control laws but said the Second Amendment has nothing to do with the spate of shootings in Chicago.

"The guns that every one of our young people have, are they legal? No!" Farrakhan said.

Instead, Farrakhan had a different idea for how to address gun violence. In addition to sending letters to black military leaders, Farrakhan said he planned to contact the city's gang leaders to recruit gang members to "protect" any land the Nation of Islam might buy in the future."

AGENDA: Grinding Down America

H/t Sean Linane

New York Boycott list of Companies that need to be contacted

I'm lifting this from Sean's page so I don't have to type it.

NEW TACTIC: Time to make some phone calls. Glock, SIG, and Smith & Wesson supply all the duty handguns to the NYPD. They haven’t joined the New York Boycott.
All you have to say is “I would like you to join the New York Boycott. Please don’t sell any guns to police that wouldn’t be legal for you to sell to the people.”
Call the following three numbers and ask (politely) that they join.
The first few might have to explain, so tell them that the NY SAFE act made it illegal to buy a magazine with more than 7 rounds. All their police guns have more than 7 rounds, so the residents of New York can’t buy them.
IMPORTANT: Be polite, be courteous, be PROFESSIONAL. The object is to impress upon them how serious we are by the number of phone calls they get, not how mean we can be to them on the phone. The people you will talk to don’t make the decisions. There is every reason to believe that they will agree with you. We want the call takers to tell their bosses that they got hundreds of calls asking them to stop selling to police in  New York and other gun ban states.

The link to Sean's page is :  http://www.ncgunblog.com/new-york-boycott/

Make some calls, and send some e-mails.  BUT REMEMBER!!!!  PLEASE Be Polite, Professional and Courteous.

Ken @ Popehat sticks the Media in the eye

And does their job for them.

"I, an obese fuzzy-slippered blogger, was able to identify the prosecutor in ten minutes using PACER. Eight of those minutes were because I accidentally selected the Western District of Tennessee rather than the Western District of Texas the first time I searched. On PACER, I found the case, found the docket, found the trial transcript, found the list of prosecutors on the case, found the transcript of the day in question, and found the exchange in question:

USA PONDER: Okay.
Q (By Ausa Ponder) I didn't — you're telling
this to this jury.
A I understand.
Q You've got African-Americans, you've got Hispanics, you've
got a bag full of money. Does that tell you — a light bulb
doesn't go off in your head and say, This is a drug deal?
A No, sir.

That's Assistant United States Attorney Sam L. Ponder of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Texas in San Antonio suggesting that African-Americans plus Hispanics plus money means drugs."

After Ken posted the name of the Offensive and Offending Prosecutor, the media played catch up and ammended their coverage.

Ken@Popehat gets my GreyLocke Special Thumbsup

Ok this is weird

both of my battery backups failed at the same time.  And after checking them out, the batteries in both of them are only 6.3 olts instead of the 12v nominal they should be.  They were also swollen and it took me a few minutes to get them out of the case with out damaging either the UPS case or the batteries themselves.  What caused them both to fail?

I think it might be the 8 or 9 dead scorpions I shook out of the cases had something to do with it.

Eeewwwww.  I sleep next to one of these things, the other is across the room powering the phone and the network, the other keeps my main computer and the scanner going.  They evidently moved into the house when the weather got cold, and my nice warm UPS's were the warmest things around, since I keep the heat to 65 in winter time to save on the electric bill.

UGH!  I'm going to have to buy 2 new batteries now because some insects decided that my electronics would be a nice place to sleep.

So this week I'll be spending some time to take apart my UPS's and cleaning out the cases.  Hopefully there are no more scorpions in there.  Just in case I'll do it outside and I'll have a can of bug spray handy.  Plus I think it's time I got at least one newer one, and hook it into the 4 DC2 batteries that are part of the Alt-E system here at Casa de GreyLocke for the microwave in the kitchen.

Whoever keeps trying to hack my accounts

please stop it.  It's annoying having to go through and re verify my information and change passwords.  I've already got 18 different passwords I have to remember, now I just needed to add a nineteenth.  It will take me a few days to get used to using now.

So please STOP.  If you are so curious about my various accounts send me an e-mail.  I'll answer any reasonable questions.

Teh Stoopid IT BURNZ!!!

"The first line item on page 121 of the OMB's September 2012 report says that under sequestration the National Drug Intelligence Center would lose $2 million of its $20 million budget. While that's slightly more than 8.2 percent (rounding error or scare tactic?), the bigger problem is that the National Drug Intelligence Center shuttered its doors on June 15, 2012--three months before the OMB issued its report to Congress"

As the article points out.  I wonder what ELSE is wrong in the report...

The media is still not doing their job

"When mixed with cough syrup, Skittles and this watermelon fruit cocktail formed “purple drank” which appeared to be Trayvon Martin’s favorite way to get high. Taken in high concentrations, the Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide (DHM) is compared to ketamin or PCP."

When will they actually do their job?  Oh, I'm sorry I forgot.  They ARE doing their job.  To confuse the issue in favor of the "Narrative " desired by their political masters.

Blood Pressure Alert

Texas, yes TEXAS! Students forced to dress in burqas, then taught to call Muslim terrorists “freedom fighters”

I think it's time the CSCOPE Program needs to be gone through completely.  Find out WHY certain subjects are receiving short shrift and others seem to be taking the majority of the instruction.

Also I"d like to know who created the lesson plans for CSCOPE.  And who pays them.

A Day in the Life's current project list

Or to be more precise Mark aka GreyLocke's project list.

The KTD Project is at about 93% done.  I am still working on some issue with the HTML for the Extra Files.

The UTD 1A Project, is about 20%, I need some legal help, some Ubuntu Linux help and 3D printer help with it.

The Preparedness Videos Project is stalled.  Evidently no one wishes to get their visage or name out there and I am the only person making videos for it at the time.

My "Stick it in Vice President Biden's Eye Project" is ongoing.  I have found a female volunteer and I may have found someone local to me to help with filming the video.  I'm hoping that I may be able to find someone with an AR-15 M4gery who would be willing to donate the use of their rifle and 1 mag full of ammo for the video and also someone with any decent 9mm with a 15 round or higher magazine and I'd be willing to pay for 2 mag fulls of ammo if it can even be found.  As it is I'm crying a little bit about using my .45 ACP as it is nowhere to be found here locally and I'm dipping into my stash.  If everything goes right I may be able to film the video this week and get it edited together and posted to youtube by this weekend.

There is a continuation of the Stick in Biden's eye video that I'm thinking about, but I would need someone with an apartment.  No shooting would be done, just weapons handling in the confines of a smaller setting.  My house is rather open with only 1 real hallway and it's more than wide enough for my wheelchair, so it's not the best for explaining maneuvering through tight space with a honking long double barrel shotgun.  If anyone local to the Corpus Christi area wouldn't mind us waving safed weapons in their home for about 30 minutes for filming please hit the GreyLocke e-mail over there on the right.  ------------------>
