Instead, they simply made it a felony offense to own gold coins, notwithstanding the fact that under the U.S. Constitution gold coins had been the official money of the United States for more than a century. Once that law was enacted, American citizens had a choice to make: (1) continue holding the gold coins and risk getting caught and prosecuted for a felony offense, or (2) comply with the law by delivering their gold coins to the government as the law required.

Some Americans decided to take the risk and keep their gold, believing their coins would enable them to protect their wealth against the oncoming monetary debasement (i.e., inflation) at the hands of the Federal Reserve. Others decided that avoiding confiscation of their assets through inflation wasn’t worth the risk of serving several years in a federal penitentiary."

Of course once it’s passed and folks want to exercise due process over being on the terrorist watch list, we’ll all be told that national security trumps any legal protections.

And both sides will continue their fund raising. Republicans to get into office to “fix the bill” (kind of like repealing Obamacare) and Democrats to keep control in place.

There will be much posturing by both parties regarding the shootings.

The Democrats will cry for more legislation, but of course they will beg for money and tell folks that they just need more of them to be voted into office.

The Republicans will cry for more members and reelection so that they can protect gun rights.

This is the con."

I haven't said much about the Mass Murder event in Orlando because it sickens me and we don't have all of the FACTS as of yet.

Washington Post Reports Bloomberg Group Planned Deceptive Racially-Charged Attack Ads

"A hallmark of NRA, and one of the reasons we garner significant support from Americans across the political spectrum, is our sole dedication to issues pertaining to the right to keep and bear arms. To be sure, there are plenty of facets to our mission (hunting, Right-to-Carry, self-defense laws), but it is all connected to the American peoples' right to possess and use arms. NRA-ILA - Reduce Firearm Ownership, Say Anti-Gun Researchers

"A new “study” by David Swedler, trained at the (gun control crusader Michael) Bloomberg School of Public Health, and co-authored by longtime anti-gun researcher David Hemenway, of the Harvard School of Public Health, uses rigged methodology to conclude that law enforcement officers are more likely to be murdered in states that have higher levels of gun ownership. As a result, Swedler and Hemenway say, “States could consider methods for reducing firearm ownership as a way to reduce occupational deaths of LEOs.”

In what may be the understatement of the century, Swedler and Hemenway concede that it’s “possible” that law enforcement officers are more likely to be murdered than other Americans because they have “more frequent encounters with motivated violent offenders.” To say the least. According to the FBI, from 2004 to 2013, 46 percent of officer murderers had prior arrests for crimes of violence, 63 percent had been convicted on prior criminal charges, 50 percent had received probation or parole for prior criminal charges, and 26 percent were under judicial supervision, including probation, parole, and conditional release, at the time of the officers’ murders.

On the other hand, Swedler and Hemenway say, law enforcement officers are able to defend themselves because they carry handguns, an argument that on its face endorses the carrying of handguns by private citizens, which is certainly not what the anti-gunners intended."

Concealed Carry =/= Open Carry

A friend of mine who lives in Maine posted this new story about the reaction of a local politician when the idea of lessening restrictions of Concealed Carry passed the Legislature.  The Politician in question is a Democrat.

"Another numb statement from a Democrat.. "Obviously, carrying a firearm in the open alerts the public — and law enforcement — of the gun’s presence. But if someone is going to be allowed to carry a deadly weapon in secret, Dion said, that person should have to demonstrate he or she is responsible and knows how to use a gun safely." #1. A citizen doesn't need to be "allowed" to do anything...it's called a right. Read the US and state Constitutions. Also nowhere in either does it say that only government and police should have guns and the manner to which they may be carried. #2. Laws have never prevented criminals from committing crimes. You would think a former sheriff would know that. If laws were that effective we really wouldn't need cops, jails and prisons. #3. So by his statement if you carry a gun openly (100% legal and has been for years) you don't have to demonstrate that you are responsible and know how to use a gun safely...because people can see it. However if you carry a gun concealed for whatever reason then you should have to prove those things. Yea....he's a smart one. The way the law is written now, you can't have a loaded handgun in a vehicle (goes for ATV's and snowmobiles too) unless you go through the process of getting a permit. It's for safety reasons they say...bullcrap. A gun is a gun and it's not any less safe because of a fee paid and a piece of paper. I hope this goes through this time and becomes law. Of course even if it does, down the road somebody can fight to get rid of it."

The story he is referring to is the following from the Bangor Daily News:

"Rep. Mark Dion, D-Portland, is a former Cumberland County sheriff and Portland police officer. He said Friday that open carry and concealed carry are fundamentally different acts.

Obviously, carrying a firearm in the open alerts the public — and law enforcement — of the gun’s presence. But if someone is going to be allowed to carry a deadly weapon in secret, Dion said, that person should have to demonstrate he or she is responsible and knows how to use a gun safely.

“If you open carry down Congress Street into Monument Square [in Portland], it’s going to cause some alarm with some individuals. But at the very least, you’re announcing the fact and there’s an opportunity for the police or others to react accordingly if you do anything that should cause concern,” he said. “I think it’s a bit flip to say, ‘This is just about throwing a coat on.’”

How many laws did they break?

Democrat wants to ban ALL Centerfire Rifle Ammunition

Sebastian over at Shall Not Be Questioned has the news.

"After ATF’s capitulation, the Democrats were quick to show their true colors and wave the gun control flag proudly. First out was Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY) with H.R. 1358 “To enact into law a framework for deciding whether certain projectiles are primarily intended for sporting purposes for purposes of determining whether the projectiles are armor piercing ammunition.” It looks like we’re going to have another bill later this week, introduced by Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA). Unlike Engel’s bill, who we do not have language for yet, Speier has introduced her bill in previous Congresses. Her bill would ban all centerfire rifle ammunition, because it changes the standard to apply to any ammunition capable of penetrating body armor typically worn by police officers, and which is designed to stop handgun rounds, not rifle rounds."

M855 Ban - BATFEIEIO B. Todd Jones Ain't Done Yet

"Virtually all rifle rounds (except .22LR and .22 WMR) will penetrate soft body armor because kevlar is specified to 9 mm rounds (as regards mass and velocity).

Jones knows that. The ATF at large knows that. What Jones is telling the Congress is that he wants their help in banning rifle ammunition. Rifle ammunition. All of it. They will start with 5.56 mm ammunition, green tip, lead ball, pointed soft point – all of it. Then they will make it clear that all other rifle ammunition is as lethal as 5.56 mm ammunition, so they need a ban on that too.

Here’s a warning flag to all the Elmer Fudds out there who only care about your bolt action hunting rifles, and think this stuff about AR-15s is all just a bunch of made up theater to bother pampered folk like you. They want your rifles and ammunition too. You do understand that, don’t you?"

They are after ALL of our rifle rounds. Never mind that rifles account for so little of the violent crime compared to hands/fists/blunt objects.

The vast majority of homicides were committed with HANDGUNS.  And almost all soft body armor will resist almost any handgun round in common use.

And why would a criminal want to carry a "Handgun" that weighs over 5 lbs, is almost impossible to conceal, and attempts to conceal are more apt to draw attention to the fact that they have something to hide.

No, this whole attempt to ban M855 is an attempt to make ammunition less available, make it harder for people to shoot.  If they can't shoot, why would they want to purchase a rifle to shoot it?

Back door Gun Control.  That is ALL this attempt was.

CNN's distorted rifle comparison

In May, 2003, CNN disingenuously demonizes so-called "assault weapons," with then Broward County (FL) Sheriff Ken Jenne first firing a then-banned semi-auto AK-47 copy into cinder blocks, showing the damage, and then shooting an AWB compliant AK copy, but not mentioning the fact that he was shooting into the ground, rather than the blocks, in order to give the impression that the banned gun was vastly more destructive than the legal one.


This is just how LOW the Media and Law Enforcement will go to, to try to force something down our throats.  They are relying on the lack of knowledge and gullibility of the general populace.

And I just heard from Miguel The proprietor of gunfreezone.net over on Book of Facehe told me that the Lying Sheriff who made this video is now an Convicted Felon.


"Former Florida senator and Broward County sheriff Ken Jenne's long fall from grace hit a low point on Nov. 16, 2007, when a judge sentenced him to a year and a day in prison.  At least now we know that HE can no longer own or posses firearms.

Anti-Gun Kalifornia at it again

"The California state Senate sees their share of interesting and controversial legislation proposals. One of the most recent bills, Assembly Bill No. 1014, is one which, if passed, would permit the secret seizure of a California state resident’s guns, after just one complaint that they pose a risk of committing an act of violence."

Even if no crime or actually threat has been committed or issued, the law would make it that one complaint and the person suspected would lose all of their firearms.

Personally I think someone should complain about Diane Feinstein.
