Well Washington State evidently has started up their own version of it.
"WA Goes After Pre-Crime: Gun Confiscation Proposed For Those "Likely To Commit Violence In The Near Future"
by Tyler Durden
Sep 27, 2016 9:10 PM
A new ballot measure being considered by voters in Washington State, officially referred to a Initiative Measure 1491, would allow authorities to seize guns from people considered "significantly more likely to commit violence toward themselves or others in the near future." The legislation would allow authorities with a court order to seize an individual's guns for a period of up to 1 year. Under the measure, gun owners would have the right to appeal a court order to have their guns returned but would have no ability to block the upfront confiscation.
The full text of Initiative Measure 1491 is included at the end of this post but below are a couple of key excerpts:
This act is designed to temporarily prevent individuals who are at high risk of harming themselves or others from accessing firearms by allowing family, household members, and police to obtain a court order when there is demonstrated evidence that the person poses a significant danger, including danger as a result of a dangerous mental health crisis or violent behavior.
Studies show that individuals who engage in certain dangerous behaviors are significantly more likely to commit violence toward themselves or others in the near future. These behaviors, which can include other acts or threats of violence, self-harm, or the abuse of drugs or alcohol, are warning signs that the person may soon commit an act of violence.
Individuals who pose a danger to themselves or others often exhibit signs that alert family, household members, or law enforcement to the threat. Many mass shooters displayed warning signs prior to their killings, but federal and state laws provided no clear legal process to suspend the shooters' access to guns, even temporarily."
I'd like to know what is bar for removal? And who decides? Is it a Psychiatrist? Or some person in an office with no training or certifications?

Commit a Misdemeanor banned from owning a gun?
"Democratic U.S. Sen. Bob Casey announced he will introduce legislation to keep guns out of the hands of those who commit criminal acts based on hate. The Hate Crimes Prevention Act would prohibit the purchase, possession or shipment of a firearm by anyone convicted of a misdemeanor hate crime or who received a hate crime sentence enhancement, according to a statement from Casey’s office on Monday. It would also prohibit the sale of firearms to anyone reasonably suspected to be guilty of a misdemeanor hate crime."

Remember how when the "Lautenberg Amendment" went into affect? When you could be convicted of a Misdemeanor Domestic Violence charge for and lose your Rights to own a firearm?
Do you know how many Law Enforcement officers, deputies and agents got caught in that? And what about the people who got wrongly convicted? And there have been MANY of them. So many that there has been a petition to get Congress to act.
Well NOW, Democratic U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, wants to make it if you so much as speak your mind about how they ways things are going, you can be banned from owning a firearm. THEY get to decide what is and isn't a "Hate Crime". Remember those college students getting "Traumatized" by someone writing "Trump 2016" in chalk on a sidewalk? Yeah if you had doe that, they want you "Convicted" of a "Hate Crime" and ban you from exercising your "Constitutional Rights"

Saw this yesterday
I was on my way home from my mechanic's after getting the brakes on my Dakota fixed and I saw a truck pulled over, with several Border Patrol vehicles, several sheriff's deputies, 3 different police departments and a tow truck. I turned around and got out my cell to record them. According to a friend who heard the chase on the scanner, 2 illegals were arrested and 4 to 6 bailed and haven't been captured as of yet.
This is only 9 miles from my house.
And people ask why I own firearms. And why I have 8 dogs.

The Second Amendment only covers Muskets
As an early type of multiple barrel firearm, the ribauldequin is sometimes considered the predecessor of the 19th century mitrailleuse.[1]
The first known ribauldequin was used by the army of Edward III of England in 1339 in France during the Hundred Years’ War
Over 400 years BEFORE the Constitution was even drafted, there were rapid firing, multi-barrel weapons.
And I've yet to have any Anti-Rightist's to explain if we were only intended to use muskets, how can they justify using anything more advanced than movable type and messengers.

Infringing a Right
Over on the Gunners Blog, Kendall Black has posted an interesting treatise about infringements of the Second Amendment. I shan't excerpt it here, but I beg you to go read it for yourself.
What is infringement?
And please excuse my somewhat florid language. I was reading his post on Saber Fencing and it took me back in time a bit.
Also further down he has an old ABC video about the Second Amendment which I think you will find interesting as well.

Gun Control Proponents seek Ballot Initiative
"OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) -- After struggling to sway both state and federal lawmakers, proponents of expanding background checks for gun sales are now exploring whether they will have more success by taking the issue directly to voters.
While advocates generally prefer that new gun laws be passed through the legislative process, especially at the national level, they are also concerned about how much sway the National Rifle Association has with lawmakers.
Washington Rep. Jamie Pedersen, a Democrat who had sponsored unsuccessful legislation on background checks at the state level, said a winning ballot initiative would make a statement with broad implications.
"It's more powerful if the voters do it — as opposed to our doing it," Pedersen said. "And it would make it easier for the Legislature to do even more."
Can the Pro Second Amendment Groups come up with a counter ballot initiative that will protect and possibly expand the protection of our rights under the Constitution?
With the Leftists proclivity for voter fraud I think that Pro-2A proponents would need to get out and have a counter initiative with even more signatures. And knowing how the media muddies issues they need to make sure the initiative is clearly worded with no possibility for confusion as to what it says or does.

NY Gun Confiscation for Mental Health part Duex
"In a surprising turnaround, New York State Police have admitted that they made a mistake when they confiscated the guns and suspended the permit of an Erie County resident on the grounds of mental health.
Late Wednesday, Erie County, NY, released a statement (posted below) blaming the New York State Police for giving them bad information regarding the suspension of a pistol permit and demand to surrender firearms sent to Amherst resident David Lewis."
I first posted on this in THIS post.
So the Police screwed up, and pass the blame to the New York State Police. Who gave the NY State Police the information? All they are saying is that they made a "mistake" and gave out the wrong name. Uhhmmm, there is something not quite right here. Mr. Lewis was taking anti-anxiety medications in the past, that was the supposed reason for the Police to take his firearms. If it was a mistake, how would the police know of Mr. Lewis' medication use? Who told them?
I hope Mr. Lewis and his attorney have a field day with discovery on their lawsuit. Because someone, somewhere divulged private health information to the State. And THAT is a crime under the current laws.

This new Backround check they are talking about?
"The proposal will allow a doctor to add a patient to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) without ever telling the patient he or she has been added.
There would be no due process requirement. Not all doctors will be able to do it with the same ease, but many will. Knowing a doctor could add him to a federal database as mentally ill without his knowledge could potentially dissuade a patient from going to the doctor in the first place to get help.
Worse, if the doctor does so and makes a mistake, the patient would have to actively work through the system to get himself removed — guilty before being proven innocent. In some states, should a doctor flag you as having mental illness without your knowledge, you may very well see the state come collect your previously purchased guns"
So you can be added to a list by the whims of a doctor who doesn't know you, isn't trained in psychiatry and may have his or her own preconceptions or prejudices, and you can LOSE your Second Amendment Rights.
I'm sorry, but if some Doctor or Medical Professional wants to add me to a list, I want to be able to FACE them, which IS one of our Constitutional Rights, you know the 6th Amendment and 14th Amendment.
Until such time as those protections can be guaranteed, this bill shouldn't even be brought up for ANY vote.
So Senator Toomey, how are you going to reconcile your bill with the Constitution?

KTD Project
I asked Chris Muir of the Day By Day Web Comic which is there at the top of the blog, if he could post a link to the KTD Project. Well it is now live over there at DayByDay.Com Scroll down until you see the Red And Black thumbdrive with the words "Get Ready". That is the link back to the KTD Project page.
Thank you Chris for the link. I hope this will help more people get some information which can help them in case of emergency.
I am also still working on the UTD 1A Project, and I hope to have a preliminary release by this weekend.
