HELP US RESCUE A HUP RETRIEVER HELICOPTER TO DISPLAY ON OUR DECK

IOWA BATTLESHIP
Help us preserve this amazing artifact and preserve the memories of our Korean War veterans before it is too late. History MUST not be forgotten! The story of the Korean War MUST not fade away!
This Korean War-era Piasecki HUP Retriever will be proudly displayed on the historic decks of Battleship IOWA. As an invaluable artifact, which tells the important story of battleship-based helicopter aviation, it is a moving memorial to rotary-wing aviators of that period chronicling helicopter aviation during the Korean War. It is also a perfect addition to our public education programs, such as Day of Discovery and Camp Battleship.

The Battleship IOWA Museum is operated by the Pacific Battleship Center (PBC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Over the course of 70 years, from the Second World War through the Cold War, the USS Iowa (BB-61) has served the country by safeguarding democracy and promoting American diplomacy. As one of the last surviving battleships of her kind (the most powerful naval vessels ever to sail) and as the West Coast's only battleship museum, Battleship IOWA continues her service as a museum and a tribute to America's enduring legacy.

The mission of the PBC is to celebrate the American spirit through the preservation and interpretation of the Battleship IOWA, to educate the public on the accomplishments and sacrifices of American patriots, and to engage our guests in unique and exciting ways that bring the ship to life by connecting the past with the future.

TAOFLEDERMAUS - Magnesium in a shotgun shell - Poor man's Dragons Breath

AR builder Gurus... I need your opinion/assistance

As you might know, Sprog #4 and I are building her her own custom AR-15, using a GWACS Armory Cav-15 lower.

I am also building myself a new upper.

Her upper will have a 16" 1:7 twist .750 M-4 Profile barrel with a carbine gas tube.

My Upper will have an 18" Fluted Stainless Steel barrel with 1:8 twist and a .223 Wylde Chamber and take a mid-length gas tube.

I've been looking for free float forends that I can afford. As such, I've been hitting E-bay, CTD, amazon, PSA, and others.

I'm thinking to get her a 7" forend and myself a 10" forend.

The inexpensive e-bay forends I've been looking at off of E-bay match the same ones that CTD has listed for $7 to $15 less.

What is your opinions on the following forends?

7" Free Float

10" Free Float

I'd like to get these built up before Christmas so Sprog #4 and I can take them to the range and start getting them dialed in.

These match the XTS forends listed on CTD's site but cost considerably less, plus I won't have to pay sales tax and shipping on them like I would if I ordered them from CTD.

Buffalo's Outdoors - Maverick 88 - Bang For Your Buck

I have a Maverick 88. Mine is a 5+1 for 6 round capacity and came with a 28" barrel with a Modified choke. I have installed an ATI Folding Pistol Gripped buttstock and I used to have an 18.25" cylinder bore barrel with a standard brass bead. It now has a vent ribbed 20" barrel with a Carlson's screw in rifled choke and Williams vent rib rifle sights. I have it set up specifically for shooting slugs, I haven't had the opportunity to see how the rifled choke affects the patterning of buckshot.

If anyone would be willing to send me a variety of shotshells, I'd be glad to set aside the time for it. However right now, 00 buck and #4 buck is running over $1.20 a shell here locally. I can't fit that in to my monthly budget.

Sootch00 - Why buy a 9mm Conversion barrel for a Glock 40 Pistol?

I have a Gen 2 Glock 23 and I bought it specifically because I saw Sootch's video on the Wheaton Arms 9mm Conversion barrel for the Glock 23. My intention was to have the capability being able to use both .40 S&W and 9mm. Up until that point I had no intention of owning any .40 S&W firearms. I didn't feel the need to add yet ANOTHER caliber I would need to purchase and stock up on.

However after I purchased my Glock 23 I found that Wheaton Arms was out of stock on the extended and threaded 9mm conversion barrels. I was a little crushed by that, so i looked around and found that Lone Wolf Distributors had the barrel I wanted in stock and on sale. So I ordered one of them plus some other replacement parts to improve the trigger and functionality of my my Glock.

Robbie at Wheaton Arms has sent me an e-mail telling me that in December, they plan on doing a run of the extended and threaded 9mm Conversion barrels. If I can fit one into the budget, I will order one and compare the Lone Wolf and the Wheaton Arms barrels.
