"When agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives checked serial numbers of the eight weapons found in his possession, they found one of the two .50-caliber weapons traced back to the ATF program, sources said.
Federal officials told Fox News they are not sure how many of the weapons seized from Guzman’s house actually originated in the U.S. and where they were purchased, but are investigating.
Out of the roughly 2,000 weapons sold through Fast and Furious, 34 were .50-caliber rifles that can take down a helicopter, according to officials."
Personally, any ATF, FBI or DOJ employees who were in any way, shape or form involved in the Operation Gunrunner/Fast and Furious, needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

M855 Ban - BATFEIEIO B. Todd Jones Ain't Done Yet
"Virtually all rifle rounds (except .22LR and .22 WMR) will penetrate soft body armor because kevlar is specified to 9 mm rounds (as regards mass and velocity).
Jones knows that. The ATF at large knows that. What Jones is telling the Congress is that he wants their help in banning rifle ammunition. Rifle ammunition. All of it. They will start with 5.56 mm ammunition, green tip, lead ball, pointed soft point – all of it. Then they will make it clear that all other rifle ammunition is as lethal as 5.56 mm ammunition, so they need a ban on that too.
Here’s a warning flag to all the Elmer Fudds out there who only care about your bolt action hunting rifles, and think this stuff about AR-15s is all just a bunch of made up theater to bother pampered folk like you. They want your rifles and ammunition too. You do understand that, don’t you?"
Read that. And DON'T quit contacting your Representatives.
They are after ALL of our rifle rounds. Never mind that rifles account for so little of the violent crime compared to hands/fists/blunt objects.

The vast majority of homicides were committed with HANDGUNS. And almost all soft body armor will resist almost any handgun round in common use.
And why would a criminal want to carry a "Handgun" that weighs over 5 lbs, is almost impossible to conceal, and attempts to conceal are more apt to draw attention to the fact that they have something to hide.
No, this whole attempt to ban M855 is an attempt to make ammunition less available, make it harder for people to shoot. If they can't shoot, why would they want to purchase a rifle to shoot it?
Back door Gun Control. That is ALL this attempt was.

Uhh why is the FBI manufacturing our own Jihadi when we have ISIS to worry about?

Oppose BATFE's Expansion of the Federal "Armor Piercing" Ammo Ban and Tell Congress to Act
President Obama insisted that if Congress would not enact his gun control agenda, he would do so on his own, through executive action. Whatever else can be said of the president's track record, he is doing his utmost to keep that promise. Having failed to enact a federal ban on the AR-15, America's most popular rifle, he's now using the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) to do the next best thing. BATFE is now proposing to ban a whole class of common rifle ammunition used in that overwhelmingly popular firearm. Unfortunately, that's just the beginning of BATFE's latest move.

Dear Pastor Anderson:
Thank you for contacting me with your concerns over the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) announcement that it intends to ban the manufacturing, importing, or selling of M855 ball ammunition. Like you, I agree that this is just another example of our lawless President who believes he can work around Congress to change laws he does not agree with.
As a Texan, my definition of gun control is hitting what you aim at and nothing else.
I have always been a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. I do not believe that new federal laws and restrictions will do anything to reduce gun violence in America. I agree that those committing violent crimes using guns do not respect the law as it is today and new laws won't help.
The ATF will be accepting comments until March 16, 2015 on this proposed restriction. I will continue to monitor this issue and encourage you to reach out to me to share with me how the new rule affects you. Should congressional action be required, you can rest assured that I will continue to fight for the rights of gun owners who responsibly use firearms.

Another BATFEIEIO Screw up
"Milwaukee County Assistant District Attorney Karen Loebel said in court she was dismissing the cases to protect informants who arranged gun and drug deals for federal agents. She blamed the publicity surrounding the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives sting, saying it made it too dangerous to proceed with the cases.
The ATF is usually keen on getting publicity for its operations, but not the kind the Milwaukee sting has generated."
Again the "Professionals" are show to be idiots. Granted there are quite a few Agents in the BATFEIEIO who are both good at their job and actually follow and respect the laws they are supposed to enforce. However the idiots are making them all look like fools.

"The New York Times reports that gun trusts are intended to allow the owner of a firearm to pass down his or her weapons to family members in a responsible way. But a loophole in the federal law has other benefits, some of them potentially troubling to gun control advocates.
The Times explains that when trust members buy "restricted firearms through a trust," they are exempt from rules that would apply to individual buyers. Things like "being fingerprinted, obtaining the approval of a chief local law enforcement officer and undergoing a background check" are not required."

Going into a so called high crime area with an already declining crime rate, buying firearms for almost twice as much as their current value, lackadaisical records keeping, inept and ill thought operating procedures. Coupled with other incidents, is it any wonder that people don't trust them?
When you can't even properly identify a subject for prosecution, something has gone extremely wrong.
