Because those who get arrested for violating firearms laws don't get prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,
from SCC
"Mousheh bought a Glock pistol and reported it stolen, police said. It was later recovered from a juvenile in the 10th District. Mousheh called a Firearms Investigation Team sergeant and asked how to get her stolen gun back.
The team investigated and found that Mousheh had bought four Glocks in the last six months, police said. Each cost about $600.
She also made a $1,000 cash deposit on a firearm designed for the military that is capable of firing a round that can pierce a bulletproof vest, though she works in a chocolate factory with no additional source of income, according to police.
But according to sources, she'll get.....probation! For violations of Federal firearms laws. When ten years per count is the norm and might actually deter others from, you know, dealing in firearms."
Remember how many people LIED on their 4473's and DID NOT get prosecuted?
Lying on a 4473 is a FEDERAL OFFENSE. NOT State. FEDERAL. And the DOJ Declined to prosecute -(PDF of DOJ's OWN STATS).

Another 4th Amendment violation
"Police to begin checking bags for explosives at CTA stations
The newest Chicago Police counterterrorism effort will involve assigning officers to high-traffic CTA train stations to randomly check riders’ bags for explosives.
Starting the week of Nov. 3, officers will ask “randomly selected” individuals if they are willing to have their bags screened before they pay to enter a station, police said in a statement Friday. If someone declines the screening, they will not be allowed to ride the train."
Excuse me. If I don't want to submit to their intrusive screening, I CANNOT ride the train?
Under what section of the Law or the Constitution are they performing these checks?

It's the Chicago Way
"CHICAGO (CBS) – A trade newspaper for the city’s taxi industry has threatened to out five aldermen who it claims are “secretly gay,” unless the City Council bans ride-sharing services like Uber, Lyft, and SideCar.
In an editorial in The Chicago Dispatcher, publisher George Lutfallah said the trade publication “has learned that five of the city’s 50 aldermen are closeted homosexuals. In the next issue of this newspaper, set to be published early next month, we will disclose their names unless our demands are met.”
Nothing like blackmail published in a national publication to show just how lawless Chicago actually is.
The the Taxi publication and association thinks it can use this threat to get their way, and it leads me to believe that such means have succeeded in the past.
So if you ever want the definition of corruption and graft, look up Chicago in the encyclopedia.
And just where does our Current President come from?

As if the crime problem in Chicago wasn't bad enough
"Farrakhan told a crowd of more than 7,000 people at the UIC Pavilion that national lawmakers are using Chicago's violence epidemic to push for stronger gun control laws but said the Second Amendment has nothing to do with the spate of shootings in Chicago.
"The guns that every one of our young people have, are they legal? No!" Farrakhan said.
Instead, Farrakhan had a different idea for how to address gun violence. In addition to sending letters to black military leaders, Farrakhan said he planned to contact the city's gang leaders to recruit gang members to "protect" any land the Nation of Islam might buy in the future."

Chicago Police Superintendent evidently is illiterate
"The Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA), thinks Chicago’s embattled police superintendent dug himself deeper into a pit of controversy today by claiming that lawful firearm owners are agents of political corruption. Appearing on a Chicago Sunday morning talk show, superintendent Garry McCarthy expressed his conviction that firearm owners who lobby their elected representatives or who donate money to political campaigns are engaged in corruption that endangers public safety."
and is either unable to read or comprehend the Constitution. I find myself wondering how he was actually able to graduate from elementary school with his publicly apparent lack of reading comprehension. And his seemingly total lack of knowledge of the law his position requires.
In other words a typical Democrat Appointee who only has his job for how well he sticks his proboscis up the nether regions of his political masters. For him the fact that the laws in his jurisdiction are proven ineffective EVERY DAY is a falsehood and the fault of everyone else. Instead of it being the fault of him and his political masters.

In Chicago? UNPOSSIBLE!
"A 17-year-old parolee who led police on a chase early this morning that injured three officers has been arrested and charged, according to officials.
Eric Samuels, of the 600 block of East 131st Street, was wearing an electronic monitoring bracelet at the time of this morning's chase. He also had been wanted on a parole violation warrant stemming from a gun-related arrest in February of 2012, police said.
He was arrested after police spotted a black 2001 Dodge Intrepid with a broken taillight at about 2:25 a.m. driving near the 400 block of East 69th Street and pulled the car over, police said."
17 years old. Already on Parole for a Firearms related offense. Driving a stolen car. Carrying another firearm. Flees police. Injures 3 officers.
And wearing an electronic monitoring device.

GPS Tracking of firearms. - Uhhh how is that going to work?
"CHICAGO (CBS) — A South Side alderman is asking for City Council hearings on an unorthodox gun control measure that would allow for GPS tracking of firearms."
Uhmmm, is it my imagination or are these leftist idjits ideas getting more and more outlandish?

I tried to think up a title
but this just so disgusts me I couldn't.
I really really tried to think up something that could express my disgust and horror for this man's words. And to think his job is to PROTECT AND TO SERVE, instead he is just going to tell his officers to kill anyone with a weapon.
You will note that this is in the People's Republic of Illinois. If you would go back in my archives and compare it to the St. Louis County Police Chief's words.
I'm sick, I can't even.
Enough.
Chicago Police Chief: We’ll Shoot Licensed Civilians With Guns
“You put more guns on the street expect more shootings,” McCarthy said. “I don’t care if they’re licensed legal firearms, people who are not highly trained… putting guns in their hands is a recipe for disaster. So I’ll train our officers that there is a concealed carry law, but when somebody turns with a firearm in their hand the officer does not have an obligation to wait to get shot to return fire and we’re going to have tragedies as a result of that. I’m telling you right up front.”

"Illinois prisons are preparing to introduce a more restrictive early-release program to replace one that was halted three years ago amid public outcry over inmates serving just fractions of their sentences.
Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn shut down the former program after The Associated Press reported that 1,745 inmates -- some convicted of violent crimes -- had been released within weeks or even days of their arrival at the penitentiary."

Crimes and Punishment in Chicago
From Second City Cop who I believe is a "Peace Officer" and not a "Police Officer" (If you don't know the difference between the two you're lost), we have the following.
At the time of his arrest, Guerra was on parole in a 2010 robbery for which he was sentenced to 6 years in prison, but for which he was released on parole in December 2011, according to state Department of Corrections records.
That isn't 85% of a sentence, that isn't even day-for-day credit. He's out in ONE YEAR for a SIX YEAR SENTENCE, and now someone is going to be dead because of it. How many times did we cover this last year alone? Two? Three times? And that's only the ones we know about. How many more are there? Dozens? Hundreds?
Once again, click the above to RTWT
a minor side note, if you want to know more of what goes on in the Chicago police department read Second city Cop especially the comments. There are many tid bits of information posted by Chicago officers in the comments that don't make the front page of the blog.

Why isn't this getting more headlines
"So in a gun-control-utopia such as this, you'd expect school-age children to be safe from all harm, if you buy into the theories of Sens. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Chuck Schumer (D-NY).
Yet the truth is more than 440 school-age children have been shot in Chicago in 2012. This is not to say that 440 school-age children died, simply that more than 440 school-age children were at least wounded. The number of school-age children killed is reported at approximately 60.
These numbers are well above those for the 2011-2012 school year, in which 319 Chicago students were wounded and another 24 were killed."

11th hour voting
While reading a comment to a post about moonbats acting moonbattish when Obummer loses the election, I remembered something. The comment particularly mentioned the idea of democrats stealing elections. And it reminded me of actually seeing that when I lived in Missouri. Jim over at Gateway Pundit can probably back me up on this, but on every election of a hotly contested statewide or federal issue, St. Louis City and Kansas City were ALWAYS the last to tun in their vote totals. It seemed like they had to wait to find out the way the rest of the state had voted before they turned in their totals for some reason. And I noticed the same thing about Cook County :ie Chicago, in Illinois always being the last to report it's totals as well. In particularly I remember during the first vote for Concealed Carry in Missouri, St. Louis City and Kansas City didn't even START to report their totals until several hours after the polls had closed. Whereas St. Louis County with a larger population of registered voters posted it's totals in time for the 10:00 O'clock news. And both St. Louis City and Kansas City always had almost 100% voter turn out, every time., but they wouldn't report vote totals until after midnight.
So watch out for these same shenanigans in your neck of the woods. If a particular area is always late turning in their totals on election night, the fix might be in.

Chicago crime is getting out of hand.
It has already been out of hand for years, but this is taking it over the top.
"The Villaruel brothers hopped on the yellow school bus Friday morning as usual. Their mom, Rosana Villaruel, was watching from the front door when everyone heard something snap"
How do the citizens of Chicago accept this? With more and more shootings and deaths every day, still they sit at home and say nothing.
It has gotten so bad Rahm Emmanuel has asked for Federal Agents to help police his city. And yet it evidently isn't so bad that he cannot send 50 Chicago Police Officers to the Democratic National Convention. Which is it Rahm? So ad you need help from the Federal Government or not so bad you actually sent 50 officers who are needed on the street of your city to a convention several states away.
And the residents of your city do nothing.
They don't march on city hall demanding that you do your job and secure their children's lives.
They don't protest in the streets about your fiscal mismanagement and the police manpower reductions you implemented.
Your city and you yourselves the so called leaders of Chicago are fools.
And you all deserve each other.
