‘Fudd for Chipman’ Democrat Ploy to Manipulate Low-Information Gun Owners - Ammoland.com

U.S.A. – -(Ammoland.com)- “Guest view: David Chipman can unite us on Second Amendment issues,” an August 5 testimonial appearing in, among other outlets, the Montana Standard, declares. The author is Dave Stalling, a self-described “past president of the Montana Wildlife Federation, … gun owner, former Force Recon Marine and avid hunter who lives in Missoula.”

The only surprise is that such a piece hasn’t appeared earlier. Gun owners have long been subjected to sudden appearances of Democrat citizen disarmament enablers trying to pass themselves off as fellow “tribe” members when there is a political goal to be attained. In the last presidential election, two groups tried to make their mark, “Sportsmen and Sportswomen for Biden — a coalition of more than 50 prominent hunters and anglers from across the country, who have come together to endorse Joe Biden for President of the United States,” and the Giffords’-bankrolled Gun Owners for Safety.

Yeah, they’re Fudds for Biden. If you’re inclined to take offense at that word, hold on a second: It’s not a pejorative for all hunters and sport shooters – just the ones who throw their fellow gun owners under the bus and support citizen disarmament edicts that don’t impact their hobbies. But a Fudd is what Stalling proves himself to be, particularly when he accuses Donald Trump Jr. of lying when he says Montana Sen. Jon Tester is not “staunchly pro-Second Amendment.” He’s not.

UNITED STATES ARMY 1980s COLD WAR ERA / EUROPE SURVIVAL TRAINING FILM 78994 - Periscope Films

I actually was shown this video in Basic Training back in 1985. Or one very similar to it. We were told, that war with the Soviet Union, was, "Inevitable". And wherever we were assigned, Germany, Korea, Italy, Guam, ANYWHERE, we would probably get wiped. And yet we would be the "Trip wire", and would have to survive and resist as long as we could. To allow the US Mainland Forces time to get up to speed and come recover us and kick the Soviets and their proxies back out.

Imagine, being 17 years old, which I was, and hearing that the Army EXPECTED most of us to get killed if the Soviets launched a first strike.

Couple that with growing up with "Duck and Cover" and other films and cartoon features about the coming Nuclear War and how to survive it. And what our Nation and Government expects of us. We had "Tornado Drills" in elementary school which were nothing more that duck and cover drills, emergency sirens, that were for warning for any attacks, but were also used as severe weather sirens as well. "Civil Defense" placards everywhere. Some denoting, "Fallout Shelters", others denoting "Bomb Shelters". Other placards denoting storage rooms full of Civil Defense supplies such as water, "Hard Tack Crackers", cots, blankets, "geiger counters", "HAM Radios", our car radios having a "Civil Defense" symbol on the dial, and almost ANY other portable radio having the same symbols.

So many of us grew up with this over looming shadow.  This spectre of death and destruction.  And I read an article I cannot find now, but it was a Psychiatrist who had researched, just what two generations of people growing up under that type of constant threat awareness.  And his conclusion?

People born before 1977-1978 were most likely suffering from their own version of PTSD.

I'll let you make your own determination.

Gun Control Frustrated as Chipman Nomination Sputters - Ammoland.com

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- President Joe Biden’s nominee to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), David Chipman, has become embroiled in yet another controversy. The Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is digging for answers. Chipman’s Democratic defenders, though, are suspiciously quiet. He’s a forgotten man hung out to dry like Sunday’s laundry.

If Chipman’s confirmation wasn’t already on rocky ground, new revelations did the gun control lobbyist no favors. It may be only a matter of time before Chipman’s nomination is withdrawn, as U.S. Sens. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) and Angus King (I-Maine) have suggested.

One thing’s certain – the more time that passes with no movement from U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Chipman’s confirmation floor vote, the less likely he’ll win confirmation. The clock’s ticking.

Racist Allegations

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman and Majority Whip, the chief senate Democrat vote counter, Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) painted a bleak picture for Chipman’s confirmation when he let slide the ATF nominee had “a lot of issues.” At that time, those “issues” included a troubling nomination hearing in which he couldn’t define what an “assault weapon” was even though he wanted them banned, his past work as a paid gun control lobbyist, and his many statements demonstrating his contempt for first-time gun owners. In politics, a couple of weeks is a lifetime, and Chipman’s getting old.

The Reload then brought to light corroborated reports that while an ATF agent, Chipman made racially disparaging remarks about his African-American colleagues. One current ATF agent stated, “He made some comments that he was surprised by the number of African Americans who have made it onto a specific promotional list. So, his insinuation was that they had to have cheated. Which is kind of despicable.”

Another agent said the racist remarks led to Chipman’s reassignment from the Detroit ATF office. “He left Detroit because of that,” the agent told The Reload. That reporting led to the 11 Judiciary Committee Republicans, led by ranking member Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), signing a letter demanding a follow-up hearing. Sen. Durbin refused.

FPC Sues New Jersey To Restore Right-To-Carry Guns in Public for Self-Defense - Ammoland.com

U.S.A.-(AmmoLand.com)- Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) and its FPC Law team announced the filing of a new federal Second Amendment lawsuit, Francisco v. Cooke, challenging New Jersey’s unconstitutional restrictions and local practices that prevent residents from exercising their right to carry loaded handguns in public for self-defense. The complaint can be found at FPCLegal.org.

The lawsuit was filed by New York-based firm Joshpe Mooney Paltzik LLP on behalf of Daniel Francisco, the president of advocacy organization Blue Star Union, a councilman for Englishtown, New Jersey and former Executive Director at Project Veritas, as well as Ori Katzin, the co-owner of a local interior design firm, a former member of the Israeli Defense Forces, and a certified firearms instructor. Katzin alleges in the complaint that he was attacked in an assault caught on camera and documented with police authorities. In spite of their legal eligibility to possess firearms and desire to carry handguns for self-defense, Francisco and Katzin were both denied a permit by New Jersey local police officials and judges, who are named as defendants in the case, along with state officials.

Edward Paltzik, an attorney for the firm representing FPC, said, “For far too long, New Jersey has systematically denied law-abiding citizens their Second Amendment right to protect themselves outside of their homes by imposing arbitrary and unconstitutional requirements. Especially with violent crime on the rise, this scheme allowing government officials to deny people the right to self-defense must end.”

ATF Determines That The Rare Breed FRT-15 Trigger is A Machine Gun - Ammoland.com

ORLANDO, FL-(Ammoland.com)- Rare Breed Triggers received a letter from the Tampa branch of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) stating its FRT-15 trigger is a machine gun.

The Rare Breed Triggers FRT-15 is a force reset trigger. When a trigger is pulled, the FRT-15 trigger’s sear forces the trigger to reset. The trigger dramatically speeds up the rate of fire of an AR15 style of firearm. A machinegun is a gun that fires more than one bullet with a single function of the trigger. The shooter has to pull the trigger for every round that is fired, the company correctly believes that the FRT-15 trigger is not a machine gun. But much like the bump stocks, the ATF disagreed with the company’s assertion.

From Rare Breed Triggers current lawsuit:

23. In other words, ATF may promulgate and enforce rules under this section of the United States Code, but ATF has no authority to change the Code or the Code’s definition of what constitutes a “machinegun”.

Rare Breed Trigger LLC did not submit a trigger to the ATF for an opinion letter, the company relied on the legal opinions of attorneys and experts outside of the ATF. The company has several videos on its website with these experts explaining why the Rare Breed FRT-15 trigger is not a machine gun. Even if the company had an opinion letter from the ATF, it could have just reversed its decision much as it did with bump stocks.

Anti-gun Lobby Push Biden to Lean On Senators for Chipman Confirmation - Ammoland.com

U.S.A.-(AmmoLand.com)- Politico is reporting that “gun violence survivors and activists are going public with their long-simmering private frustrations, saying President Joe Biden could have done more” to push for confirmation of gun control advocate David Chipman as head of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as opposition to the nominee increases.

In recent Senate floor remarks, Alaska Sen. Dan Sullivan called Chipman “another extreme activist, this time against the Second Amendment and Second Amendment rights,” according to mustreadalaska.com. Sullivan argued that his Senate colleagues would not support Chipman’s nomination if they believe the Second Amendment is as important as other tenets of the Bill of Rights.

Anti-gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety lobbying group has been filling email Inboxes with this message: “Getting David Chipman confirmed is crucial to stopping the rise in violent crime and enforcing our gun laws. As a decorated law enforcement officer with 30 years of experience combating violent crime and a former senior adviser to Mayors Against Illegal Guns, he is the right person for the job and will be committed on day one to ending the country’s gun violence crisis.”

Everytown calls Chipman “a gun safety expert.” Everytown disguises itself as a “gun safety organization,” too, and the media goes along with that.

According to Politico, Igor Volsky, executive director of Guns Down America, a gun control lobbying group, declared, “The White House has really dropped the ball here and if Chipman is not confirmed that will be a significant letdown to survivors of gun violence across the country — and will have the effect of undermining their effort to reduce gun homicides… Biden told us during the campaign trail that this is a priority and the administration insists that he is in charge of driving this issue. He needs to step on the accelerator.”

Bloomberg’s Gun Control Dropping Down Payment on 2022 Midterms - Ammoland.com

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Antigun billionaire Michael Bloomberg is at it again. He’s throwing around money and demanding things, not even noticing that Americans aren’t listening to gun control mantras. Instead, they’re arming themselves at historic rates.

Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund is dropping $3 million to recruit “grassroots volunteers” to run for elected offices ranging from school boards to Congress in the 2021-2022 election cycle in a new program called Demand a Seat. That’s in addition to the gun control work of Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action.

That’s a lot of demanding. It’s also a lot of money. It looks like Bloomberg’s getting an early down payment on buying himself potted plants in public offices instead of grassroots. It’s a strategy that Bloomberg likes. Everything looks green when it’s papered over with piles of cash.

Look at the last election cycle. Bloomberg’s Everytown pledged $60 million in the 2020 Congressional and Presidential races. He raised the stakes when he burned $500 million on his own flirtation with buying the presidential ticket for himself. He also sprinkled in $100 million into Florida as insurance money to make sure President Joe Biden delivers on an antigun agenda.

US District Court in CT: Gun Permit not Valid Cause for Arrest and Search - Ammoland.com

U.S.A.-(AmmoLand.com)- On 12 November 2018, at about 8:34 pm, Basel Soukaneh was driving in Waterbury, Connecticut. He was not familiar with the area and was attempting to find a house he was considering purchasing. The GPS on his cellphone had frozen. The cell phone was on a holder on the dash, so he pulled over to adjust it. Shortly after he pulled over, with the engine running, an officer knocked on his window and demanded his license.  The interior lights on the vehicle were turned on.

According to the complaint, Soukaneh rolled down his window and said “Hi” to the officer. The officer yelled “Your driver’s license!”. Soukaneh then took the driver’s license and his pistol permit from the visor of his vehicle and gave them to the officer, while telling the officer he had a pistol in the car.

The officer opened the door, grabbed Soukaneh, and attempted to force him from the vehicle. Soukaneh had his seat belt on but was pulled half out of the car before he was able to turn off the ignition and release the seat belt.

Soukaneh suffers from two herniated discs, so this action caused significant pain.

The officer handcuffed Soukaneh and placed him in the back of the police car, in an awkward and painful position. The officer searched Soukaneh’s pockets and took $320 and a flash drive, which contained pictures of his deceased father.

The officer or other officers (other officers had arrived) then searched Soukaneh’s car passenger compartment and trunk. The incident is claimed to have lasted longer than 30 minutes. Eventually, Soukaneh was given a traffic citation and released.

GOA FOIA Shows The Inner Workings of The ATF’s Evidence Handling - Ammoland.com

MARTINSBURG, WV-(Ammoland.com)- For the second part of AmmoLand’s and Gun Owners of America’s joint project to shed light on the inner workings of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Firearms and Ammunition Technology Division (FATD), we will look at how the division handles and processes evidence in criminal cases.

Gun Owners of America received an unredacted FOIA response with the FATD standard operating procedures (SOP). One of the received SOPs is titled “Evidence Handling and Processing.” That SOP deals with how the Firearms Technology Branch (FTB) approaches to evidence in criminal cases. Having a copy of this SOP can help criminal defense attorneys defend their clients against criminal prosecutions since FATD is the group that determines if a firearm breaks federal law. FATD officers are experts in federal law in the eyes of the government and court system.

Firearms Enforcement Specialist (FES) is a FATD officer assigned to handle criminal evidence when it arrives at the FTB.

The FES is the person that logs in the evidence before it is examined by the Firearms Enforcement Officers (FEOs). The evidence can originate from cases on the federal or state level. The FES could find themselves in control of evidence submitted by the FBI of a local Sheriff’s Department.

The chain of custody is critical to the FES’s job, and that chain is laid out in the Evidence Handling and Processing SOP. The evidence in a criminal case is sent to the FATD officer through common couriers (UPS, USPS, FedEx) to the ATF mailroom in Martinsburg, WV. The mailroom will notify the FES that the evidence has arrived and is ready for pick up. The FES will go to the mailroom and sign out the evidence. From here, FTB assumes control of the received items.

Gun Grabbers Collaborate with Foreign Regime to Undermine Constitution - Ammoland.com

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Anyone tempted to think the gun control lobby couldn’t sink any further into disreputable tactics should sit down before reading any further.

Last week, Brady – one of the older, gun prohibition advocacy groups in the U.S. – teamed up with the government of Mexico to launch an assault against the American firearms manufacturing and distribution industry.

The move came in the form of a lawsuit that seeks to hold lawful and federally licensed companies in these industries responsible for the crimes of violent Mexican gangs and drug cartels, to the tune of $10 billion, according to media reports.

Not only that, the suit argues that the U.S. federal court in which it was filed should ignore both United States law and the Second Amendment and instead rule against the defendants under the laws of Mexico.

This breathtakingly audacious move shows not just the desperation of the gun control lobby to advance their anti-freedom agenda by any means necessary, it underscores their contempt for the uniquely American freedoms that set our country apart from the rest of the world. That Brady would ally itself with a foreign government that has become virtually synonymous with corruption proves just how detached the gun control movement has become from the values and traditions that define America.

New Mexico Bans Gun Shows from State Facilities - Ammoland.com

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- The State of New Mexico will no longer allow gun shows at state-run facilities.  The New Mexico Gun Collectors Association, which had been holding shows at EXPO New Mexico at the State Fairgrounds in Albuquerque for more than 40 years, was given verbal notice that their October show has been canceled for that reason.  Rocky Mountain Gun Shows has been told that their November show at the same facility is a no-go as well.  After months of cancellations ostensibly due to COVID-related issues, the gun control boom was finally lowered on promoters of these legal events where honest citizens have lawfully exercised their Second Amendment right to purchase and own firearms for decades. Gun shows are no longer welcome on state property, nor are their customers, their rights, and the boost they provide to the state and local economy.

EXPO New Mexico is a state agency that, according to its website, works closely with the State Fair Commission to carry out day-to-day operations and host and produce events at the facility.  Governor Lujan Grisham appointed all seven members of the State Fair Commission back in September of 2019.  From the Commission’s website, it appears that the last time the Commission gave notice about a meeting when it actually met, and the last meeting for which minutes are available, was January of 2020.  Nothing in those minutes mentions EXPO staff or the Commission taking action to end gun shows at the State Fairgrounds.  Further, the New Mexico Legislature has not adopted legislation prohibiting such events on state property.  So where does this sudden misguided policy change come from?

All signs point to Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham.  Not to be outdone by her Left Coast recall colleague Gavin Newsom and anti-gun extremist lawmakers in the California Legislature who are considering a similar ban, she appears to have wildly wielded her executive power to use a state agency to target gun owners and throw a pre-election year bone to radical gun control activists.  This is in spite of the fact that just two years ago, she signed into law NRA-opposed Senate Bill 8, the so-called “universal background check” bill, which supposedly closed the non-existent “gun show loophole” and required criminal records checks on private firearms sales at such events.

Oregon Activists Launch Effort to Derail Gun Law as Portland Murders Climb - Ammoland.com

U.S.A.-(AmmoLand.com)- As homicides in Portland, Oregon climb toward setting a new record, a group of grassroots gun rights activists have launched a campaign called “Responsible Response” to possibly reverse a new restrictive gun control law scheduled to take effect late next month by putting it on the ballot in November 2022.

According to a recent guest column in the Blue Mountain Eagle, Senate Bill 554—signed by anti-gun Democrat Gov. Kate Brown in June—requires that guns be locked up at all times they are not being carried or under the control of the owner. Beaver State activist gun owners are not happy about this, and the Responsible Response effort is their attempt to derail the law. They filed Referendum Petition 301 with the Oregon Secretary of State. It requires 74,680 signatures of registered voters by Sept. 25 to qualify, and according to guest columnist Richard F. LaMountain, if they get those signatures “the bill’s enactment will be delayed pending the vote’s outcome.”

“To sign the petition,” LaMountain wrote, “go to responsibleresponse.com and print, sign and mail a single-signature petition to the listed address. Or come to the Grant County Fair between Aug. 11 and Aug. 14 and sign a petition at the Responsible Response booth in the Trowbridge Pavilion.”

It may be possible to gather the required signatures, considering the bad publicity Portland’s body count is receiving. The Rose City appears in chaos. According to the Portland Oregonian, as of Sunday, the city had logged 58 homicides, surpassing the number posted for the entire year of 2020, which ended with 55 slayings.

“Wrong Man for the Job” ATF Nominee Chipman Facing Fresh Allegations - Ammoland.com

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- April may be the cruelest month, but August isn’t looking so great for David Chipman, President Biden’s nominee to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

Your NRA-ILA recently published an alert on Chipman’s work promoting ShotSpotter, Inc., a surveillance tool for local governments that critics call “useless, expensive, racist technology.”

Since then, reports have emerged that Chipman failed to disclose in his Senate questionnaire his interview with a Chinese state-run network, CCTV, and broadcast by CGTN (China Global Television Network) America – a network described as “an arm of China’s propaganda machine… controlled by the Communist Party.”

Among other things, the questionnaire requires the nominee to “[l]ist all interviews you have given to newspapers, magazines or other publications, or radio or television stations, providing the dates of these interviews and four (4) copies of the clips or transcripts of these interviews where they are available to you.” Chipman notes, at page 18, that the list represents his best efforts “to identify all interviews given, including through a review of my personal files, and searches of publicly available electronic databases” but that the list might fail to include material that he was “unable to identify, find, or remember.”

The December 15, 2012 interview, still posted on YouTube at the time of writing, is titled “David Chipman on Connecticut School Shooting: What Can Be Done Now?

During the interview, Chipman discusses the Sandy Hook shootings and the need to “find meaning” in the killings by enacting gun control legislation. Chipman claims that “right now, in the U.S., 40 % of gun sales occur in this country without any background check,” a claim that has been thoroughly debunked – in fact, shortly after Chipman’s interview, the Washington Post’s fact-checker gave then-President Obama three “Pinocchios” for claiming that 40 percent of firearms are sold without a background check. Chipman follows up by ignoring the federal law that prohibits persons who have been adjudicated as mentally ill, asking, “shouldn’t we check to make sure someone doesn’t have a mental health history before acquiring a gun?”

Time Is Running Out to Comment on the ATF's Receiver Rule - Firearms Policy Coalition

Friend --

I know you have probably received an email from me before encouraging you to take some time to add your comment on the ATF's proposed "receiver" rule.  If you have already submitted your comment, please share this email with those who you believe may be willing to help out by submitting their own comments. If you haven't, you better get moving! The deadline to submit your comment on the ATF's proposed "receiver" rule is August 19th. That's less than two weeks away!

We, at Firearms Policy Coalition, need YOUR help to stop the ATF's unconstitutional and dangerous proposed "receiver" rule that could radically and unnecessarily expand their powers. Let's face it, none of us want that to happen.

What exactly would this proposed rule do if adopted? To start with, the ATF's proposed rule, ATF 2021R-05, would broadly redefine "firearm" and "frame or receiver" to expand the number and types of items that ATF would consider regulated firearms. This would be a disaster for the firearms industry and individual gun owners who enjoy building their own firearms. It is also an unconstitutional attempt to legislate via regulation! Adding insult to injury, the proposed rule seems almost intentionally vague and unclear, making it a nightmare to determine what would be legal or not.

Here's where you come in. Take a few minutes to write a unique and personalized message so that they can hear from FPC supporters on this important matter! To comment on the proposed "receiver" rule, simply click the red "ATF Receiver Rule Comment" button below.

FPC is incredibly fortunate to have so many informed and active members/supporters in our Grassroots Army. Help us run up the number of comments on the ATF's proposed "receiver" rule in these final few days, so that there is not the slightest doubt where gun owners sit on this issue.  Thanks in advance for taking action and for your continued support of FPC!

Doctor Destroys the Entire COVID Narrative - Gab.com

There are two very important videos that are being heavily censored this week on Big Tech platforms. The first is a video from Dr. Dan Stock who explains how the current measures to combat COVID-19 do not work. He spoke at the Mt. Vernon school board meeting and it's the most important and powerful video you will watch today. I encourage you not only to watch it yourself, but to also share the uncensored Gab TV link with a friend.

Click Here To Watch The Video

The second video is from Senator (and Doctor) Rand Paul who has been one of the lone voices fighting back against the Oligarch false narratives about Covid since the pandemic began. In the video Senator Paul has one clear message: it's time for us to resist against this madness and he's absolutely right. I urge you to take a few minutes to watch his powerful and inspiring message. They can't arrest us all, but we all must stand together in unity against this madness.

Click Here To Watch The Video

These two videos, along with several more that I will link below, are critically important to watch and share. Today the Pentagon announced that they will be requiring all Military service members to get the Covid vaccine. This confirms my reporting from last week, which beat every mainstream media outlet to the story, from the dozens of messages I received on Gab from Military service members who told me that they were being forced to take the vaccine.

For those of you who missed it, the New York Times and Facebook-funded "fact checkers" defamed me claiming that I was spreading "misinformation" for reporting these facts. Fast forward to today and they are all now reporting what I was reporting last week: Military service members are being forced to give up their bodily autonomy and go against their religious beliefs.

Perhaps the "journalists" at the New York Times are jealous that I am better at their job than they are and I do it in my spare time to keep people informed. Gun Control and the Elastic Meaning of “Transfer”- Colorado Court Moves the Needle - Ammoland.com - READ THE WHOLE ARTICLE!!!

U.S.A.-(AmmoLand.com)- One of the laws championed by the gun-grabbing crowd is the so-called universal background check, in which private sales of firearms are subjected to a criminal background check, fees, and paperwork. What gun control advocates fail to make clear, though, is that their concept of “sale” extends to firearm “transfers,” being gifts, loans and any other transaction, regardless of how temporary, where possession but not ownership of the firearm changes.

A failed background check initiative in Maine adopted a definition of “transfer” that meant “to sell, furnish, give, lend, deliver or otherwise provide with or without consideration.” The Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility (WAGR), which drafted the law in Washington State, defined a “transfer” as the “intended delivery of a firearm to another person without consideration of payment or promise of payment including, but not limited to, gifts and loans.” The proponents of the Maine law misleadingly packaged the initiative as one that applied “to private sales.” WAGR likewise maintained that “simply handing someone your gun … is not a transfer” under their language, and scoffed that concerns about the law applying to temporary transfers between law-abiding gun owners were farfetched fear-mongering over “invented scenarios.” After the WAGR-drafted law was passed, it became obvious that opponents were correct and it did apply to “simply handing someone” a gun, as instructors and students in hunter safety classes for the state’s fish and wildlife department quickly learned.

The elastic concept of “transfer” was stretched even further in a Colorado criminal case, People v. Johnson, No. 18CA1212, 2021 COA 102 (Colo. Ct. App. July 29, 2021).

A state law on straw purchasing, Colo. Rev. Stat. § 18-12-111(1), provides that “[a]ny person who knowingly purchases or otherwise obtains a firearm on behalf of or for transfer to a person who the transferor knows or reasonably should know is ineligible to possess a firearm” commits a felony.

Biden Administration Already Weaponizing ATF, Not Waiting for Chipman - Ammoland.com

U.S.A.-(AmmoLand.com)- Even though Joe Biden’s nomination of David Chipman to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has “issues” according to one senior Democrat, and is stalled in a Senate committee, the Biden/Harris Administration has started weaponizing the ATF without waiting for the president’s embattled nominee to take over.

As expected, their target is the firearms industry.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation recently received a copy of an internal ATF memo, which was written by Acting Assistant Director George Lauder and sent to ATF’s senior management.

The memo mentions Biden’s five-point strategy to reduce gun violence, which was announced at a press conference June 23.

“ATF’s role in the Strategy is essential, and includes refocusing our FFL inspection and administration action policies,” Lauder wrote.

The memo calls on field agents to prioritize their gun shop inspections by using a data tool that tracks the number of firearms sold by a gun dealer that are later used in crimes. It also tracks the time period between the sale and the crime.

When they saw the memo, the NSSF immediately alerted their members, because of the impact it might have on a gun dealer’s ability to conduct business.

State Opportunities to Repeal Bans on Gun Mufflers - Ammoland.com

U.S.A.-(AmmoLand.com)- The same person who invented the muffler for the automobile invented them for guns.  Hiram Maxim, the inventor, called them “Silencers”.  An obvious reason they were not invented earlier is the inside of a gun muffler is more complex than a gun barrel. Early silencer designs were made of mild steel, making them subject to corrosion. A silencer for a gun using black powder would require a significant effort to clean after each use.

Smokeless/non-corrosive gunpowder did not become common until about 1900. At that point, gun mufflers became more practical. Increasing prosperity in society, brought about by technical innovation and the use of fossil fuels, made target shooting more economical for more people.

Hiram Maxim invented the gun muffler in 1902. It was moderately popular. President Theodore Roosevelt owned several and found them useful for target shooting and pest control.

The Progressive regime of Franklin Delano Roosevelt was able to make the interstate transportation and marketing of silencers prohibitively expensive in 1934.   There was no clear reason to do so in the legislative record. Placing prohibitive taxes on machine guns, silencers, and short-barreled rifles and shotguns was the booby prize in 1934. The main aim of the proponents of the law had been to require registration and licensing of all pistols.

Mexican Suit Threatens Second Amendment - Ammoland.com

Massachusetts/Mexico – -(AmmoLand.com)- If there is one thing Second Amendment supporters have to remember, it’s that anti-Second Amendment extremists are willing to take any shot they can at our rights. The suit in a federal court in Massachusetts by Mexico against six firearms manufacturers and one wholesaler is one classic example of this.

Like big-city mayors a quarter-century ago, the Mexican government has been unable or unwilling to address serious criminal activity.

In one sense, Mexico has it much tougher than American cities: The drug cartels are a for-real insurgency of sorts. But rather than actually get serious about dealing with the cartels, who get weapons you don’t find at your local FFL, they’re blaming law-abiding Americans who wish to exercise their Second Amendment rights.

Now it is clear that some guns do get run from the United States to cartels, and not just from Operation Fast and Furious. As the Second Amendment Foundation reported, the Mexican government doesn’t trace all the guns they seize for the reasons stated above: The type of firepower Mexican authorities are facing isn’t legally available on the civilian market in the United States.

That being said, such trafficking violates various provisions of 18 USC 922 and can also trigger versions of 18 USC 924.  If there is blame to be assessed in America for Mexico’s problem, not prosecuting those violations is a place to look.

But the involvement of the Brady Campaign in this suit is a dead giveaway to the real objective of this suit. This is about targeting six gun manufacturers: Glock, Ruger, Smith and Wesson, Century Arms, Beretta, and Colt. All sell popular firearms to the public, and each newly manufactured gun is sold to a member of the public in accordance with federal, state, and local firearms laws through an FFL.

What the Brady Campaign wants is what they wanted two decades ago when cities were suing gun manufacturers: They want to either drive the manufacturers into bankruptcy, or they want them to accept terms that have been rejected by the bulk of state legislatures (not to mention Congress), often due to the grassroots efforts of Second Amendment supporters and groups like the NRA and GOA.

It goes without saying that this lawsuit needs to be thrown out with prejudice. But that won’t be enough. Congress will need to strengthen the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, to include sanctions against this type of suit. Second Amendment supporters should contact their Representative and Senators to urge that, but they also need to contact the Mexican government to register their objection to this suit – if common sense can’t get Mexico to back off, maybe the threat of losing tourism will.

GOA & AmmoLand Acquire ATF Technology Division’s S.O.P. Manual ~ VIDEO - Ammoland.com

U.S.A.-(Ammoland.com)- Gun Owners of America & AmmoLand News are in possession of the complete Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.) Manual for the ATF’s Firearms & Ammunition Technology Division (FATD).

Recently Gun Owners of America filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request asking the ATF to supply FATD’s “Standard Operating Procedures.” For years gun rights activists and firearms journalists speculated that the document existed. The ATF has always been tight-lipped about the existence of the document and what it could contain. GOA was able to determine the exact name of the document and requested it from the ATF.

GOA has shown the will follow through and sue the ATF and other government organizations over denied or delayed FOIA requests.

The ATF could have forced GOA’s hands but, to their credit, turned over the document to the gun rights organization for publication as required under Freedom of Information Act law. If GOA did have to sue the ATF, the group could have forced the ATF to pay the legal fees if the government lost in court.

Now GOA & AmmoLand News now have the complete Firearms & Ammunition Technology Division (FATD) “Standard Operating Procedures” document.

The amount of information in the ATF FOIA release is vast. Some of the information given by the ATF to GOA was already released but buried deep inside the ATF’s FOIA response was FATD’s “Standard Operating Procedures.” That document gives us a deep insight into the shadowy division of the ATF responsible for deciding what is and isn’t a stock and what is and isn’t a firearm.

GOA approached AmmoLand News and asked if we would be interested and digging through the document and analyze the inner workings of FATD. AmmoLand News agreed to the offer because we believe that this information should be publicly available for anyone to view. Over the coming weeks, AmmoLand News journalists will be highlighting some of the information locked inside the documents. AmmoLand News and GOA will make the complete document available for the industry, defense attorneys, and the public at the end of our reporting.

Fwd: Anti-Gun TX State Legislator Introduces Two Gun Control Bills

It's bad enough when one gun control bill is introduced in a state legislature.  It's worse when there are two gun control bills introduced by the same state legislator.  The cherry on top of this anti-gun legislative fantasy is that the state legislator introducing these bills isn't even physically in the Lone Star State. Texas State Rep. Ron Reynolds (D-27) has been all over the news lately for fleeing Texas, but he still has his eye on his gun control priorities, as he has introduced HB 54 (87-2) and HB 55 (87-2) for consideration in the second special legislative session.

HB 54 (87-2) focuses on the creation of certain criminal offenses concerning firearm sales at gun shows. It is well established that if you are an FFL and vending at a gun show, you are already required to perform a National Instant Background Check System (NICS) background check in order to complete the sale of a firearm.  So this bill's intent seems to be an attempt to go after those interested in a private sale of their personal property. Additionally, there are more protocols (and thus more potential penalties) for the actual gun show organizers as well.

HB 55 (87-2) creates a criminal offense for the unlawful possession or transfer of an "assault weapon".  What is the definition of an "assault weapon" in this bill, you ask? Well, it could be a litany of things since Rep. Reynolds' definition is about as broad as you can imagine.

I know that a lot of these Texas runaways are having a hard time right now. I mean they took it pretty hard when they were unable to prevent constitutional carry from becoming law.  However, if you can't even show up for your job, how do you expect people to listen to your demands for gun control? Tell your state legislators to OPPOSE these bills by clicking one of the red "No TX Gun Control" buttons in this email. You will be provided with a prewritten email that you are encouraged to edit and personalize prior to sending. The email will go directly to your specific state legislators upon sending!

We are grateful for the continued support and engagement we receive from gun rights advocates across the country.  If you haven't done so already, but would like to become an FPC member, just visit JoinFPC.org to join Firearms Policy Coalition's Grassroots Army! Let's keep up the Texas pro-gun winning streak by knocking these two bills out of consideration.

Fwd: 🚨BREAKING: New bill would massively expand the NFA 🚨

Friend,

FPC has learned of a bill introduced Friday that would massively expand the scope of the National Firearms Act (NFA).

HR 4953 - authored by Rep. Ted Deutch (D-FL) - would subject any semiautomatic rifle that can accept a detachable magazine to the NFA.

That means that nearly all modern sporting rifles would be heavily regulated by the ATF just like suppressors and SBRs.

In other words, even a Ruger 10/22 could be subject to regulation by hostile government bureaucrats.

This is one of the worst gun control bills introduced all year, Friend. And we need your help to stop it RIGHT NOW!

If you own a rifle that meets the criteria stated above - and most gun owners do - you need to get in this fight IMMEDIATELY.

This legislation is so insane that it goes even further than wildly-despotic clowns like David Chipman in its assault on liberty.

After all, Chipman testified before Congress that the ATF currently defines an "assault rifle" as:

"Any semiautomatic rifle capable of accepting a detachable magazine above the caliber of .22, which would include a .223..."

HR 4953 would go EVEN FURTHER and subject even .22 caliber rifles to the NFA. That's why we need to act NOW!

Although full bill text is not yet available, our legislative team is currently analyzing this bill and preparing a take action campaign.

But in order to make sure our opposition push has maximum impact, we need to secure additional funding ASAP.

You may be wondering if this bill only regulates the sale of future rifles, or if there is some kind of grandfathering provision.

HR 4953 doesn't say, but it's safe to assume its provisions would also apply to existing property.

After all, the bill's author hates guns so much that he thinks YOU should have to pay a tax stamp and beg the ATF for a permission slip to own guns.

Indeed, if this insane bill is signed into law by our current anti-gun administration, here's what could happen:

The ATF learns you have purchased or are in possession of a semiauto rifle that accepts a detachable magazine...

But you invoke your constitutional rights and refuse to submit to the government's fascistic extortion scheme, and then...

  • You are ARRESTED
  • You ARE IMPRISONED
  • You are HEAVILY FINED
  • You have your firearms SEIZED
  • And you LOSE your right to keep and bear arms
