GOA FOIA Shows NICS-Index-Self-Submission Form Was Used Beyond the FBI - Ammoland.com
WASHINGTON, D.C. -(Ammoland.com)- A Gun Owner of America (GOA) Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request has turned up documents that show the use of the NICS-Index-Self-Submission Form goes beyond just the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
In 2019, AmmoLand News published a secret FBI document that allowed American citizens to sign away their Constitutionally protected gun rights. At the time, it was believed that only mental health professionals and the FBI were using the form.
The GOA FOIA request proved that the document was used throughout the government.
Recently there has been a battle in Congress over the forms. A recent hearing over the forms shows that Congress is split on party lines. Republicans have been horrified over the use of the documents, while Democrats have been trying to get the use of the form codified into law. Dueling bills over the forms are expected to be filed over the use of the documents.
The documents, first revealed by the Washington Examiner, show that other government agencies, such as the Secret Service (USSS), Social Security Administration (SSA), and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), all worked hand and hand with the FBI to strip Americans of their gun rights by using the legally dubious form. One form found in 2017 shows that the USSS submitted a document to the FBI to add someone to the NICS indices for being adjudicated as mentally defective, which is legal under the law. Still, the government agency would go beyond what was allowed by Congress.
In 2018, the USSS would start utilizing the FBI’s NICS-Index-Self-Submission Form with subjects of multiple investigations. The Secret Service would continue to use the form to have targets of their investigations sign away their gun rights. The USSS doesn’t tell the FBI how they got the people to sign the documents leading some to believe that the people could have been coerced and pressured to give up their rights.

FBI Hid the NICS-Index-Self-Submission Form from Public Scrutiny - Ammoland.com
WASHINGTON, D.C. -(Ammoland.com)- Why did the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) hide a form that stripped American citizens of their rights? Who was using these forms and to what end?
In 2019, AmmoLand News uncovered secret documents including NICS-Index-Self-Submission Form that the FBI disseminated to the mental health community. The form let American citizens add themselves to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) indices. A person completing the form would then be prohibited from buying a firearm for the rest of their life. Sources inside the FBI said this form was supposed to be kept a secret from the public. Now thanks to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request by Gun Owners of America (GOA), we can confirm the accusations.
The FBI used the NICS-Index-Self-Submission Form to add people to the NICS indices even though they did not meet the definition of a prohibited person by the letter of the law.
A person could fill out the form and mark that they are a danger to themselves or others. They could also mark a box stating that they “Lack the mental capacity adequately to contract or manage details of my life.”
Many wonder how a person could sign away one of their constitutionally protected rights if they cannot even enter into a contract because of their mental state. It seems like the person who would check that box would be unable to consent due to mental deficiencies, yet the FBI has made a form that agrees to the government stripping them of a fundamental right for the remainder of their lives.

Calculated Destruction of ‘Gunwalker’ Evidence Shows ATF Cover-Up Ongoing - Ammoland.com
U.S.A. – -(Ammoland.com)- “Yesterday, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) notified us that it intends to destroy the firearms associated with the botched Operation Fast and Furious,” Rep. Jim Jordan, ranking member of the House Committee on the Judiciary, wrote to ATF Director Steven Dettelbach on Dec. 6. “I strongly urge you to reconsider this decision and request that you preserve this evidence.”
The reasons for Jordan’s letter should be self-evident, but he nonetheless spells them out—not so much for Dettelbach, who knows and is plotting this move because of them – but for the benefit of interested gun owners and for other Americans with open minds still interested in holding accountable those government actors responsible for overseeing a criminally negligent (at best) operation that has resulted in untold deaths to date.
That ongoing legal actions require evidence to be preserved and that ATF, the agency that stonewalled investigations and retaliated against whistleblowers now seeks to be the agent of its destruction, is a good circumstantial indicator that its priority remains one of covering up.
