It's taken me months to wean myself off the pain and neuro meds, and I can say I've gone 13 months WITHOUT needing any prescription pain meds. Until now. I have gall stones in addition to all the herniated discs, pinched nerves and other damage to my spine and joints. Right now the gall stones have had me throwing up so badly I think I gave myself an abdominal hernia. Up until now I've been dealing with my pain with a combination of aspirin, acetaminophen, ibuprofen and benedryl. This is the first time since I quit taking narcotic pain meds that I seriously wish I had some. I got tired of how after taking my meds, I would check out mentally for 30-90 minutes because it felt like I was looking at the world through a frosted glass window. After dealing with that for for over 10 years and the time it took for my brain to get clear was taking longer, I finally said enough, and quit taking all of the pain meds. I think I slept more for the 2 months after I quit taking those meds, than I did in the previous 6 months. The pain was and is debilitating at times, but my mind is clear. I no longer wake up in the morning and having it take 20-30 minutes for me to be properly oriented. Before, while taking those meds, when I woke up it could take up to an hour for my brain to properly click in to the point I could be fully functional, mentally and physically.
Saying all that, I REALLY wish I had something a little stronger than OTC meds, because if I took the amount truly needed to cut down the pain, I would seriously damage my liver and kidneys.
So posting may or may not be light, it depends on my pain level and how well my brain is functioning.
I already have several posts pre-scheduled, and I am scheduling this to go live at 0645 on the 2nd.
I am half tempted to have a glass of rum or scotch. I haven't had any alcohol since Independence Day, when I had a beer. The problem is acetaminophen and alcohol don't play nice together. I happen to like my liver, I don't need to torture it with a combination of those 2.
But please be aware, that posting may be light until this gall stone attack has been recovered from. It could take 8-12 hours, it could take 3-4 days. I have no idea what causes them, other than I think the casserole I had may have had a lot of cheese in it. Dairy, in particular cheese, has been known cause my gall bladder to do stupid stuff.
Also I am still paying off the repair for my air conditioning. I still owe $275. If you can spare any funds yourself, you can send me a donation by using either of the QR codes over on the right, or the links below.
