Back in 1993 I was in school for radiologic technology. My father gave me a book on bullet wound ballistics. In 2 years I had read it so much it was falling apart. The main thing it stressed was that EVERY single bullet hit was different due to the myriad conditions that existed due to the unlimited amount of variables that existed at the time of the shooting. I could go on forever, but the point is that it is a fascinating subject that very few people ever bother to study or understand- especially doctors. LOL.
