Not going to mention civility for it is so obvious as the basis of communication. My initial reaction to this video is it is utter rot. I enhanced my calm then was able to become more specific; rather than people becoming more confident in themselves (growing a spine), the video suggests the sender alter his transmission. The while it is mentioned the 'culture of words', the irony is missed or ignored that the transmission can become so altered that original intent is garbled. Yay for society! The implication is that society become ever more obedient to new think so to avoid allegedly offending the recipient(s).
I choose Option A: grow a spine, venture out of one's comfort on a regular basis. It is entirely probably that one can maintain a high level of civility while expressing thoughts which slithering thin skins may find objectionable.
