HEY!!! I used to own a Gremlin. Mine had the inline 6 with a 4 speed transmission. My only real complaint was the top hinge pin on the driver's door kept wearing out. The bushing for it was evidently made out of paper, as it seemed everytime it rained, the thing started to corrode like it was hit with battery acid. And it ONLY hapened to THAT pin and bushing. I had to replace both the pin and the bushing at least twice a year for the 3 years I owned that car.
