Common Core Backlash

"A school in Sacramento, California, has suspended a mom over her stance against Common Core.

You read that correctly, the Mark Twain School in Sacramento has told the mother of a 12-year-old student that she has been suspended for two weeks. Police in Sacramento served the 14-day suspension to Katherine Duran in her home following a disagreement with the school over the soon-to-be enacted Common Core standards."

I'm sorry, but the school principal and his immediate staff who collected the forms need to be suspended or fired.  Evidently as educators they are not familiar enough with something called The First Amendment".  As such they are obviously not qualified to hold their positions and employment.

This is troubling

"A student in Bryant School District in Arkansas brought home a worksheet that presented her with a scenario that referred to the Bill of Rights as “outdated” and that as part of a special committee she would need to throw out two of the Amendments. "

Without any previous discussion of how the Bill of Rights came into being, without any discussion as to how the Constitution and Bill or Rights are to be Amended, the kids are to figure out how to "Change" it.

Change it.

Why does that word sound so familiar?

Hmmm maybe Hope and Change?

My reading on this is the Common core Curriculum is about brainwashing our kids into believing that things are not what they are and a simple majority should rule.

There is much much more to my argument, but that is the complete break down.

Brainwashing our children to accept that which is unacceptable and illegal under our Constitution.

Are they also going to teach the correct way to say "Do you want fries with that?"

Because that will be about the only job our kids will ever be able to get.
