Specialization

I've updated the Specialization page a few more times but I didn't post to let people know about it, so here is ALL of Specialization.

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion,  butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance  accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give  orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem,  pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently,  die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

- Robert A. Heinlein

Any  man who thinks he can be happy  and prosperous by letting the  Government take care of him; better take a  closer look at the American  Indian.

- Henry Ford

I don't want repeat offenders, I want dead offenders

- Ted Nugent

We see, therefore, that war is not merely an act of policy but a true  political instrument, a continuation of political intercourse carried on  with other means. What remains peculiar to war is simply the peculiar  nature of its means.

Life is not a race where you acquire things.
Life is a journey where you acquire experiences to share with others.

- Mark (GreyLocke) Anderson 12/29/2013

“Political tags–such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist,  fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth–are never basic criteria.  The human race divides politically into those who want people to be  controlled and those who have no such desire. The former are idealists  acting from highest motives for the greatest good of the greatest  number. The latter are surly curmudgeons, suspicious and lacking in  altruism. But they are more comfortable neighbors than the other sort.”

- Robert A. Heinlein

“Men by their constitutions are naturally divided into two parties

1. Those who fear and distrust the people, and wish to draw all powers  from them into the hands of the higher classes

2. Those who identify  themselves with the people, have confidence in them, cherish and  consider them as the most honest and safe, although not the most wise  depositary of the public interests. In every country these two parties  exist, and in every one where they are free to think, speak, and write,  they will declare themselves. Call them, therefore, Liberals and  Serviles, Jacobins and Ultras, Whigs and Tories, Republicans and  Federalists, Aristocrats and Democrats, or by whatever name you please,  they are the same parties still and pursue the same object. The last one  of Aristocrats and Democrats is the true one expressing the essence of  all.”

- Thomas Jefferson (Letter to Henry Lee, 1824)

Pretty...  What do we blow up first?

- Myn Donos - Wraith Squadron

We  have a finite amount of time on this planet.  When the Lord’s going to  take us, we don’t know, but every second of your life is a second gone  forever.  Someone who doesn’t have respect for your time has no respect  for you. This is something all young men should learn by puberty.

-Wraith

Life and Freedom is too precious to give it up without a fight, no matter what.
When you meet the end of that road, make the ghost of Death EARN his Prize.

Death is not the enemy. Death is never the enemy. The ones who deal it for their own convenience are.

- Gallstone 6/5/2014

"There's a reason we separate military and the police: one fights the enemy of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people."

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

- C. S. Lewis

If you can’t tolerate people who don’t agree with you, why are you engaging in argument at all?

- Charles C.W. Cooke

Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

- King James Bible Proverbs 26:4

In political arguments intelligent adults pay attention mainly to what is being said, while fatuous children pay attention mainly to who is saying it

- Kevin C. Williamson

"'Freedom' IS NOT 'Free'!!! Someone Must Pay for The Freedom of 'Free People'! It is a Bill that is usually Paid with the Blood Of Brave Men (And Women), Far From Home, Afraid, Cold, and Uncomfortable, WELL OUTSIDE of the THIN Bubble of 'Civilization' that MANY people in the Western World take for Granted as 'The Norm' (Never knowing, or caring, how THIN that 'bubble' really is, or how FEW people actually live inside that bubble)... Those Brave, 'Rough', Men and Women WILLINGLY place THEIR BODIES between the EVIL PEOPLE of the World, and The People at home that those men and women love. 'The FEW' pay that bill (which is ALWAYS 'Past Due', and Accrues Interest and Late Fees Daily), so that 'The MAJORITY' can live day to day, pretending Evil DOESN'T HUNGRILY pace and test the boundaries 'of that thin bubble of civilization'"

The thing about death threats is, I believe you. Think about it.

-

That's right. You see, according to *Cacteau's* plan. *I'm* the enemy. Because I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, freedom of choice. I'm the kind if guy who would sit in the greasy spoon and think "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the big rack of Barbecued spare ribs with the side order of gravy fries?" I *want* high cholesterol. I want to eat bacon, butter and buckets of cheese alright? I want to smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinatti in a non-smoking section. I wanna run around naked with green jell-o all over my body reading a Playboy magazine. Why? Because maybe I feel the need to okay pal? I've *seen* the future, you know what it is. It's made by a 47 year-old virgin in gray pajamas soaking in a bubble bath, drinking a broccoli milkshake and thinking "I'm an Oscar-Meyer Wiener". You wanna live on top, you gotta live Cacteau's way. What he wants, when he wants, how he wants. Your other option: come down here, maybe starve to death.

“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”

Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.

"I would agree. After all, even if Humans *evolved* on this planet, but an Intelligent Creator first set forth the conditions under which life could evolve, then evolution cannot hold ANY contradiction to the idea of Intelligent Design.

As an analogy, think of God as a scientist in his lab & he sets up an experiment with the *conditions* that allow for evolution under multiple generations; Evolution may be merely the precise process that brought Human Beings into existence, but it was still set up deliberately!

So I don’t consider any argument between “Creationism vs. Evolution” to be valid."
