Own a Wood Burning Stove? The EPA wants to regulate it even more.

The local air pollution agency says I can’t sell my old wood stove to help pay for an EPA-certified wood stove. Why is that? Replacing an older stove with a cleaner-burning stove will not improve air quality if the older stove is reused somewhere else. For this reason, wood stove changeout programs usually require older stoves to be destroyed and recycled as scrap metal, or rendered inoperable.

WHAT!?!?

So if I go out looking SPECIFICALLY for an old pot-bellied stove like the kind my aunt and uncle had in their living room when I was a kid I can't buy it?  Not even as an antique?  What are these bozos smoking? Cause it sure seems to be on the controlled list.  Do they have a medical card for it?

Many people can't afford to replace their old stoves with the more modern ones unless they sell their old one to someone else.  According to these new regs, the only way it can be sold is as broken up scrap.  Who wants to buy a broken up scrap cast iron stove?

The EPA has been trying to ban, outlaw and destroy the wood burning stove market for YEARS.  This might finally be the straw that breaks the camels back for the market, forcing several manufacturers out of business.  If no one can afford to buy their government mandated stoves, they'll have no choice but to go out of business.  Losng more jobs, and TAX money in the process.
