Why the Sad Puppies?

Larry once again went afisking as Larry does.

"Here’s the thing, Teresa. You don’t speak for all of fandom. You don’t own them. You don’t even speak for all of the TrueFans or SMOF or whatever you want to call them. There are plenty of longtime SMOFs who are just as sick of your preening, entitled nonsense as my people are, and though they may find my actions upsetting or barbaric, or personally think I’m a jerk, at least everything I’ve done has been in the open… Plus, they are safe to criticize my side without fear of retribution or career sabotage. Can’t say the same thing about your side."

At the end he links to Sarah Hoyt, who tells her experiences in SF&F publishing that are the REASON we NEED Sad Puppies.

"One time I came into the room at a con and found one of my editors talking to another of my editors. I could tell from the expression, the startled look at me, that news that I might be a – dropped voice — conservative had been conveyed. I hoped I was being paranoid, but I wasn’t. My treatment by that other house immediately changed, overnight.

So I lived in fear, unable to associate normally or make friends with anyone. It was like being spied on all the time and knowing the worst construction would be put on my actions and words, even if the actions and words were not political, even if I just forgot what the week’s hate and the week’s cause was."

Seriously go read both of those. When certain people go out of their way to INTENTIONALLY harm another through making it so they cannot work/publish, those people have become tyrants.

And in my personal opinion, "Death to Tyrants" through a thousand cuts such as the fiskings Larry does, which have become legendary in their own right.

So all of you SJW's, who get offended at the drop of a dangling participle, we are sick of being shoved aside, and tired of being belittled by such as you.

So watch out.  "Conservative" writers, authors, blogger and all the rest are coming to take back what you thought of as exclusively "Yours", and make it Everyone's.

You pompous, bombastic, egalitarian twits.

ETA: From the comments at Sarah's post

"Consider the SJWs who insist that the world needs to be a safe speech zone. By this they do not mean places where you are free to discuss ideas openly, but rather places where words and ideas are to be avoided if they deem offensive to those who they have decided deserve protection. But they will not ever call this censoring, because censoring is bad. Censorship is what those terrible no-good very bad conservatives do. Because in their mind’s dictionary it says conservative = that which is bad, undesireable, mean."

EATA: A Comment on Larry's post

"Wow, so much has changed in a year. And I have some bad news for these gender feminist dingbats: we haven’t even really marshaled all our forces.

Secondly, there is no way to present quotes about marginalizing the “underrepresented” from us that don’t exist or hiding your own mountain of racist supremacist quotes. There are open and public quotes that point to collusion or outright admit they won’t deal with literature by straight white men. On the other hand, the idea straight white men have ever conspired to do that is a straight up lie.

I have yet to see a single Tweet urging whites to read whites, men to read men, or heterosexuals to read heterosexuals, or arranging that into awards or symposiums. The Tweets in the other direction is a flood.

“Read this, she’s gay. Read this, he’s PoC. Read this, Women!!”

Well, read this: f**k you.

I see some tough times ahead for intersectionalists. The truth is no one was doing a single thing to gays, women or non-whites in the SFF field but now you’ve made genuine enemies. They’re not enemies because of who you are but what you say. You could’ve just written some good fiction and let it sit there like everyone else instead of marking us all for a KKK but you couldn’t do that. So, deal with the push back."

Larry Fisks another SJW Idiot

The Social Justice Warrior Racist Reading Challenge, A Fisking.

Seriously go read that.

I was in Corpus yesterday and I went to the Half Price Bookstore.  Know what I found for my second eldest daughter?  The Planet Pirates, by Anne McCaffrey, Elizabeth Moon and Jodi Lynn Nye.  And until I just Googled her, I didn't know if Jodi Lyn Nye, was white black or other.  I had to Google her name to see a picture of her.

I don't care what color, sex/race/religion someone is.

Here is my ONLY criteria for me to buy their writing.

Do they write a good story.

That is it.

If they can't write a story that interests or intrigues me, I'm not going to waste my dollars on them.

So for all this "Support Writers of Color", and "Support Message Writers" and all that other nonsense, if they write a good story, one that engages my mind and my imagination, I'll buy it.  If they don't, I won't.

I buy books to engage my mind and my imagination.  Something that will let me suspend disbelief and for a brief while let me believe that MAYBE we can travel to other worlds.  And through good books I DO go to other worlds, at least in my mind.  If you cannot write a story that makes my mind go off on those journeys and flights of fancy, I don't want your book.

Your book can have a message, but if it doesn't have a compelling and engaging STORY, I don't want to waste my time or my money.

There are too many other books by authors who DO write those stories for me to spend my limited income on your dreck and drivel.

Over at Larry Correia's

Larry got in to an argument with some people over the comments by Ms. Nevada and self defense.  And the SJW's (Social Justice Warriors) went on the warpath (Can I say that considering it's is supposedly demeaning to Native Americans?  Even though I'm part Pottawatomie).  Especially when there is DOCUMENTED PROOF that TWO of the SFWA's most  celebrated Icons are Child Rapists and Molesters.

While reading through Larry's most recent post on the kerfuffle, he posts a comment that an ACTUAL RAPE SURVIVOR left on another blog, which SHOWS just how stupid this whole big artificial outrage actually IS.

And one of Larry's readers posted the comment I excerpt below.

"As far as I’m concerned, every single one of these Pink SF/F authors is a child rape apologist. And don’t ever consider them anything different until they formally denounce both Samuel R Delany and Marion Zimmber Bradley."

Click on that and read the original post by Larry and the copied comment from a Rape Survivor.

Read it and you tell me just what the SJW's are really trying to do.  Help rid the world of rape in all it's forms?  Or to have some type of moral superiority they can hold over everyone elses head as an example of their so-called righteousness?

Copy cats and a Fisking by none other than Larry Correia

First the copy cats.

"At least 3 men accused of making threats during or after watching the new Batman movie have been arrested in separate incidents, underscoring moviegoers' anxieties and heightened security in the wake of a deadly mass shooting at a Colorado theater showing the film.

A Maine man was arrested when he told authorities that he was on his way to shoot a former employer a day after watching "The Dark Knight Rises," Maine state police said Monday."

Then Larry Correia takes an article on CNN written by Professor Daniel Webster, who runs a  "Policy and Research" center which is decidedly anti-gun.

"Let’s think about this, because this is going to come up a lot in the anti-gun thought process. Webster points out my side’s argument and then quickly dismisses it, like “oh, you silly gun nuts, crazy murderers will totally be thwarted by the same laws as law abiding citizens”.

Just last year, Anders Breivik shot 69 people in Norway, a country with gun control far stricter than America. (he also blew 8 people up with bombs, but I’ll come back to that later). In 2008, a group of terrorists completely shut down the city of Mumbai by going on an epic shooting spree. More than 300 casualties. India has some of the strictest gun control laws in the world (and in fact, has no “gun culture” to speak of, which led directly to their disastrous police response, but I’ll come back to that too)."
