I just finished an interesting book.  It runs a little formulaic at times, but I really enjoyed it.

especially if you like SPACE MARINES, then you should try this book.

What's on my Kindle - The Prince by Jerry Pournelle

Unfortunately you can no longer purchase the Kindle edition of "The Prince", which is a shame, because it is a very fine book.

If you have the money to spend though, you can still purchase the Hardcover version of the book.

What's on my Kindle - Part Four - Elizabth Moon

Ms. Moon is another author who is very prolific.  And I will only put down the 2 series and a couple of individual books from other series of hers that I have on my kindle.  Even though I have read the other series, I don't have them on my Kindle and checked them out of the library because the publisher insists on such a high price for the Kindle versions of the books.  So I bought them at the half price store in paperback instead.  If the prices were more reasonable, I'd buy them again in Kindle version just to have them available when I travel.

This is actually a 3 book Omnibus version.  Part of the Serrano Legacy Series.  I have all of the books in paperback but I couldn't find them when I wanted to re-read them so I bought the whole 9 book series in 3 omnibus books.

What's on my Kindle - Post Three - Anne McCaffrey (Tom McCaffrey)

Do you have any idea just how hard it is to list ALL of the books Ms. McCaffrey has written?  Either by herself, or with others?  Seriously, I would be typing for over an hour with all the links I'd have to make.  And my arthritis and carpal tunnel would make me pay for it later.

So to save myself that I should just direct you to her Authors page at Amazon.  And yes I HAVE read almost everything Ms. McCaffrey has written, either in hardback, paperback or E-book version.  I DO have the ENTIRE Pern series including the books she co wrote with her son and also the books he wrote after her death as a single author, in E-book format and most of it in paperback.

What's on my Kindle Part Two - Lois McMaster Bujold

Now Ms. Bujold is VERY hard to list properly because of all the compilation omnibus volumes of her books, but I'll try. 

The first book I ever read of hers was Cordelia's Honor, which is actually two book in one, Shards of Honor and Barrayar.  After I read that, I was hooked.

I should note I first read it as a paperback and now I have it as a Kindle book.  In fact I have almost all of these books in paperback, and I still pull them out from time to time to enjoy getting lost in the worlds Ms. Bujold has created.

Ms. Bujold has another series out there which I haven't as of yet read.  However it IS on my list of books to buy.

One thing you will notice about ALL of Ms. Bujold's works, is that she builds a coherent word picture of the world her stories inhabit, and if you close your eyes you can almost see it for yourself.

THAT is good writing.

What's on my Kindle Part One - Michael Z. Williamson

Since I'll be out of town for  almost a week with limited internet access, I'm pre-writing and scheduling some posts. 

Since I got an e-mail about just what books I enjoy reading, I figured I do a series of posts about what books I have on my Kindle, Kindle for PC App, Kindle for Android on my Cell Phone, and Kindle for Android on my Tablet.  Yes I do have that many devices set up to read Kindle books.  I like to read.

You will notice that many of them are Science Fiction/Fantasy.

This is a very good series by David Weber and John Ringo, and like my recommendation of reading The Road To Damascus, you will find parallels between the main protagonists and certain groups within our own country.  It's frightening to me, just how future psychic Sci-Fi writers have become.  It seems like they "know" something.  Those links are to free editions of the novels, if you like them you can purchase them directly from Baen.
