Firehand has a couple
that you need to read:
"Team Obama’s decision to crack down on the medical marijuana industry wasn’t motivated by public health concerns,” Lee writes, answering his own question. “The Justice Department green-lit a scorched earth campaign against medicinal cannabis in order to placate law enforcement and control the damage from the Fast and Furious scandal by deflecting attention to other matters."
Then this one:
"And Holder's DoJ will investigate this probably never. Death threats, terrorist threats, more racist threats, but it's the New Black Panthers doing it."

Combating the Gaystapo
a Post from Kevin DuJan over at Hillbuzz:
"Yesterday, Floyd Corkins II of Herndon, Virginia — who worked with The DC Center, an LGBTQAI community center in the nation’s capital — brought a gun to the Family Research Council’s headquarters because he was driven by an all-consuming hatred of Christians and egged on by the nation’s self-styled “gay leaders” to “get in their faces” and inflict harm on the people that the gay community routinely brands as “enemies”. He concealed his gun in a Chick-Fil-A bag as a political statement and likely got the idea to do that from the nonstop, hate-fueled rage the gay community’s directed against the fast food chain for the last month because of COO Dan Carthay’s unapologetic promotion of traditional Christian values"
If anyone records these events but doesn't want to post it themselves, send it to me. I will post it on my youtube account and then post it here as well.

Justice under the law of Obama
You embezzle millions from your clients and investors, violate dozens of of Securities Laws, and all you need to do to avoid even being charged with a crime? Donate money to Obama.
"A criminal investigation into the collapse of the brokerage firm MF Global and the disappearance of about $1 billion in customer money is now heading into its final stage without charges expected against any top executives."
Such as Jon Corzine, one of Obama's top campaign $$ bundlers.
"Jon Corzine -- under federal and congressional investigation following accusations that the securities firm he headed illegally took clients' funds before collapsing -- is among President Obama's top re-election campaign bundlers, raising at least $500,000, according to the campaign’s filing Friday with the Federal Election Commission."

Advice to teens from 1959
"Open letter to Teen-ager
Always we hear the plaintive cry of the teen-ager. What can we do?...Were can we go?
The answer is GO HOME!
Hang the storm windows, paint the woodwork. Rake the leaves, mow the lawn, shovel the walk. Wash the car, learn to cook, scrub some floors. Repair the sink, build a boat, get a job.
Help the minister, priest, or rabbi, the Red Cross, the Salvation Army. Visit the sick, assist the poor, study your lessons. And then when you are through - and not too tired - read a book.
Your parents do not owe you entertainment. Your city or village does not owe you recreational facilities.
The world does not owe you a living...You owe the world something.
You owe it your time and your energy and your talents so that no one will be at war or in poverty or sick or lonely again.
Grow up; quit being a crybaby. Get out of your dream world and develop a backbone, not a wishbone, and start acting like a man or a lady.
You're supposed to be mature enough to accept some of the responsibility your parents have carried for years.
They have nursed, protected, helped, appealed, begged, excused, tolerated and denied themselves needed comforts so that you could have every benefit. This they have done gladly, for you are their dearest treasure.
But now, you have no right to expect them to bow to every whim and fancy just because selfish ego instead of common sense dominates your personality, thinking and request.
In Heaven's name, grow up and go home!
- South Bend Tribune, Sunday, Dec. 6, 1959."

Update to yesterday's post on the IED's about the signals in the Gulf of Mexico
I clicked on This Ain't Hell this morning to start going through my blogroll and found a link to a story about a Russian Akula sub that was in the Gulf of Mexico last month. Unannounced by the Russians. Then as I logged into to post an update G.Brandon Hoyt of by: Brandon, the Random Man had left a comment linking the same story. I'll just post the link to TAH's story so you can follow the link yourselves.

IED's on our southern border
Check your local and national news. Check the cable news channels. Are they discussing the following stories?
Story #1
"Federal law enforcement agents in San Diego arrested 60 people in connection with an Iraqi criminal ring with ties to Mexico’s powerful Sinaloa drug cartel.
The gang is accused of selling drugs, machine guns and improvised bombs (IEDs) out of a social club for Iraqi immigrants in El Cajon, Calif., a city of more than 90,000 located near the Mexican border."
Story #2
"Using IEDs to try to attack targets in the U.S. is something many law enforcement officials know all too well.
“The threat is indeed real. IED attacks been attempted multiple times in New York City already,” Deputy Police Commissioner Paul Browne told POLITICO."
Story #3
"Improvised explosive devices have claimed the lives and limbs of thousands of American soldiers across Iraq and Afghanistan.
And now officials say the devilish devices are posing a growing threat across Texas and the United States."
I live a few hours from the Texas-Mexico Border I am a HAM Radio Operator and I listen to a scanner constantly. I have been hearing many things on the US Military frequencies, and also on the various Law Enforcement frequencies for months. Things which worry me. Things which are NOT being broadcast on the news or printed by the newspapers. I know that the Coast Guard and the Navy have increased their patrols between Brownsville and Galveston. I know that there are more Military aircraft patrolling the Gulf, most of them have MAD gear on them. I know that there are more ASW craft in the Gulf right now than there have been in the last 5 years. I know there is a LOT more encrypted radio traffic going on in the area now than I have heard in the last few years, much of it on the Federal or Military frequencies. And using a homebrew scanner antenna that most of the signals are coming from the Gulf, I traced the strongest signal on my map and they are about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile east of South Padre Island about 15 to 25 miles north of Brownsville. That was taken over the weekend, using a lenstatic compass to shoot the azimuth from the antenna, then using google earth to follow it out adding in the perceived signal strength, which was hitting me about 5 bars out of 12. Not totally sure if my distance is correct but it's a somewhat educated guesstimate.
What aren't we being told? And who decided not to tell us? And why isn't the media screaming about the secrecy?

Political pandering and graft with our tax dollars
Over at Hillbuzz:
"On August 2nd the House released an investigative report on Solyndra, the failed solar energy company, which shows beyond a doubt the Obama administration abused taxpayer dollars for political gain.
Solyndra received a $535 million loan, straight from our pocket, as part of Obama’s “green jobs” strategy. Indeed, Solyndra was considered one of the jewels in Obama’s green recovery crown. When Obama visited the plant in 2010, he highlighted Solyndra as an example of the “right thing to do for the economy,” claiming the plant would employ at least 1,000 high paying jobs.
As is so often the case with lofty oratory, the reality never lived up to the rhetoric."
Why oh why, does this remind me of this:

"Disinformation: is intentionally false or inaccurate information that is spread deliberately. For this reason, it is synonymous with and sometimes called black propaganda. It is an act of deception and false statements to convince someone of untruth. Disinformation should not be confused with misinformation, information that is unintentionally false."
A propaganda technique when used by political operatives in order to shape public opinion. Who can do that? Why the Media of course.
Peter has a post you should click on to go read: How disinformation works.
The ask yourself, just who is creating this propaganda and misinformation, and for what effect. And who is the target of it.
Your answers if you really look into it might upset you.

Reading assignment
I often post books here which I feel have an important message. I have in the past posted a couple of these more than once. I will do so again
First click on the following links and you can download the book from the Baen Free Library
But two book in particular stand out.
The Road to Damascus by John Ringo and Linda Evans
And
Freehold by Michael Z. Williamson
Download those books, read them, check them out of your local library, go to your local book store and buy them.
Keep them in your head, try to distill the message. Then look at what is going on around you everyday in your life right now.
And ask yourself, "Are they Prophets?"

The shrinking river
http://www.thetrumpet.com/article/9694.8596.0.0/world/environment/the-mighty-mississippi-to-run-dry
They have to be joking, right?
But now, due to the worst drought since the 1950s, the Mississippi may be about to go dryClick on that above to read the whole story. Now below is something else. Please excuse my rather bad tring grammers and such I'm in the throes of a series of quite horriffic back and neck spasms which I have taken a pain pil and a muscle relaxer, well hat I though was a muscle relaxer but might have bee a sleeping pill, whih I was going to take after I finished this but I may have messed it up. Now back to below.....
\|/
|
This should be the feed from the Poplar Street Bridge on the west bound lanes. Idon't know how well it will work. I am once again trying to type under the influence of pain medicationnand a sleeping pil. Not fun, but lets try this.
http://wrc.dot.il.gov/il_traffic_cameras/images/camera1.jpg
This photo should updated every time you reload this particular page/post of my blog. IT should be showing the westbound US 64, US 70, SH40 and I believe US 44 as they cross the Mississippi River. If I grabbed the right camera you should be able to see the water level in front of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial AKA The Gateway Arch's front steps and Lenore K Sullivan Boulevard which used to be Wharf Street. If you can see the large concrete wall at the end of either leg of the Arch, I'd like you to notice that during the flood of 1993, shortly before my eldest child was born I was doing security there, and the water covered all of that and most of the steps. Seriously if you can see the steps, only the top 20 to 26 steps were dry, the rest were submerged. The reason I'm showing the 2 of these to you is for you to see for yourself just how low the river actually is. It is dark now as I type this, but I hope that you can see during the day, by looking over to the right of the above photo, in the background you will see Lenore K. Sullivan street, and the cobbles laid on the riverbank. When the river is at it's proper level you can see about 20 to 30 feet of the cobbles. As the water gets low though you can get to the point where the cobbles stop and the mighty Miss mud is shown instead. If you are seeing the mud and not the cobblestones the river is a minimum 17 feet low at that point. And if you have read the first link up there you know that levels that low reduces necessary barge traffic. Lessening how much can be carried safely. When less, lets say grain is carried, how does that effect food prices? Through less animal feed, less bread being made, less major foodstuff are able to move fast and inexpensively.
This is the next phase of our country's financial problems.Low supply with high demand. And the government won't be able to keep the coming inflation in check much longer. Between the corn subsidies for ethanol taking feed corn out of the market so it isn't available to feed livestock, farmers are going to have to cull their herds drastically. For a bit, meat prices will fall, until the farmers get to their breeding stock levels. They can't afford to purchase feed for the animals, so rather than let them starve and be subject to sever health problems they will cull the herds. The herds of Cows, Pigs, Sheep, Chickens, Turkeys you name it. the farmers and ranchers will have to cull the herds back to what is called the bloodstock, the core breeding animals. The animals that will give birth to next years herd. And the farmers hope they can get enough for what they had to cull to pay their bills and purchase enough feed to keep the bloodstock alive, so they can be bred next year.
Down here in Texas many farmers are already harvesting what they can early. Trying to save whatever they can. Cotton, Sorghum, Corn, Rice anything and everything they are trying to get it in and sold. So hopefully they can make enough money to pay the bank notes coming due, and hoping to still have enough to purchase seed and fuel for next year. Any major investments in ne machinery they might have planned for this year, those plans are put on hold. So the Implement dealer can't sell new equipment, so he orders less. The manufacturer can't get the dealers to order more, so they start idling plants to stretch out the work as long as possible.
All this means, is very soon, there will be a glut of farm products going into the supply line, which will deflate the value. You might be able to purchase prime cuts of meat for what you currently pay now for ground chuck. You will find a rather limited selection of fruits and vegetables, but for a good price, so they get sold before they spoil. This will take place over a few weeks to maybe a month. But then, there won't be that much left in the inventory. Just bloodstock, and you don't slaughter bloodstock, the large silos will have been emptied to reduce spoilage. This country used to export quite a lot of foodstuffs. After this, we will have to import a lot of foodstuffs just to keep our pantry's stocked. Even with the importing of foodstuffs, it has to be delivered. With the rivers at all all time lows, that leave trucks and trains. I hate to tell you, but our country doesn't have enough truckers or train operators to take up the slack. Especially if with all these other prices are going up so does fuel for those trucks and trains.
This is all interconnected. You cannot do "A" without also having "B", which requires "C" which means you need "D" That is what a lot of people don't seem to understand. We are on the precipice of having a total breakdown in our country's infrastructure, and many people could die, from malnutrition, diseases such as pellagra, I should think we would have a new outbreak of rickets and other disorders as well.
It is time for the politicians to stop their little oneupsmanship games and pay attention to the problems and take corrective actions to try to alleviate this. I don't think we can head it off, it's gone too far. But they may be ways to alleviate some of the worst symptoms.
I myself. I'm going to continue my prayers for our country, and I suggest you do the same.
A hard choice
"He was laying face down on a backboard, soot all over him. Most of his clothes were cut away except for his boots and t-shirt. I told him, "hang on this is really going to hurt." And then I started shoving kirlex in the halfdollar sized exit wound in the back of his leg. A .50 cal round had "cooked off" and gone through his leg. The second I did, he started squirming and screaming writhing in pain. At first he just screamed then he started saying things.
"Oh God! Stop! Please! Stop Doc!" he screamed.
I grit my teeth and tried to ignore his piteous pleas. You have to plug this wounds. A tourniquet simply won't do it. Plugging it will prevent infection, it will speed the healing, and is one of the quickest wats to start clotting in such a wound, but it will hurt so much. And so on this day I put a man through unbelievable amounts of pain to save him."

1984 was and is a warning,
however certain political groups and organizations are using it as a manual to destroy our country.
How much longer are we going to allow Attack Watch and other programs of it's ilk, the Patriot Act, the TSA and all these other offenses against our Freedoms and Liberties?
I strongly suggest you check out George Orwell's 1984 from the Library or purchase it.
Read it......
Then look around at our current world. How many similarities do you see?

Looking for a partner
in a small venture. I write stories, lots of short ones and a few long ones. I have a bunch of ideas floating around my head and I am always looking for ways to get them out in to the real world.
One of those ventures is a few stories I've written. I get them to a certain point and then I get stumped as what I am writing doesn't seem real to me any longer.
I am looking for someone who can help me get these stories out there.
So I started thinking about starting up a web comic. Many many years ago I did some childish drawings that I submitted to a local weekly, and to my surprise they actually published a few of my doodles. I didn't get any remuneration for them but my dad was very proud that I had been published. I admit I couldn't draw worth a darn then and now with carpal tunnel and arthritis it's even more difficult.
So if you or someone you know is an aspiring artist who would like to get involved in a startup project please let me know.
What it is, I will pay for the domain and web hosting and write scripts, the artist would draw and bring to life my stories. I would hope to do a bi-weekly publishing schedule on Tuesday and Thursday. At first there would be no or little income, until I could work my way through the vagaries of web advertising, but the artist would also have a dedicated sub-domain to publish whatever they wished within reason.
So please if you or someone you know might be interested, leave a comment with an name, e-mail address and if they have an on-line portfolio.

A friend of mine posted this on another board
and gave me permission to repost it on my blog:
I didn't know what I had when I was growing up. - G. Gardner
My Dad got up every morning and went to work. He worked hard to get ahead and to provide well for his family, and when work was done he came HOME. He sat at the supper table with his wife and children every night, and talked with us and took an interest in our lives.
He deliberately and purposefully set a good example, taught us everything he could, and made us behave and do right.
Mom kept an immaculately clean and orderly house. She cooked three FINE meals a day EVERY day, except on Saturday night when Dad took her out to a restaurant.
Most mornings breakfast was eggs and bacon or sausage, likely with either grits and toast or biscuits, sometimes with gravy on top of that. Almost every morning! I didn't know how good I had it... I didn't know how many kids were lucky if their mom bothered to get up and fix cereal and milk.
My mother loved her children openly and vigorously and unconditionally, and was the sweetest and kindest person I ever knew.
Dad never failed to come home from work; he never disappeared until midnight, never came home drunk hitting people. Never saw him drunk once. Never saw him drink. Rarely saw him lose his self-control.
He was a hard man, something of a perfectionist and a disciplinarian, and far from unstinting in his praise... but he was loving and took good care of us and if we grew up not knowing something it wasn't his fault.
We had to do chores and like most kids we didn't like it, but we did it and didn't dare grumble in Dad's presence. Along the way we learned how to do many things, and we learned how to work hard... this stood us all in good stead in adulthood.
I walked onto a new job as a young man once, and the foreman wasn't enthused about me as he set me to perform some menial tasks. I came back to his office an hour later and told him I was done, what did he want me to do next. His jaw hit the floor and he insisted on inspecting my work to see if I'd really done what he said already; when he saw that I had he gave me a .50/hr raise on the spot --- on my first day.
I didn't know what all the fuss was about honestly... I just did what my Dad had taught me to do, which was work hard and do it right.
I hadn't even realized up to then that all those chores had been more than just chores... my Dad was teaching me how to work and get ahead in life.
We weren't spoiled but we never lacked for anything we needed, and even had most of our reasonable wants satisfied by our fatherly provider.
My parents loved each other deeply and demonstrated it often. They were fiercely loyal to each other, and there was never any hint of unfaithfulness said of them anywhere in the community.
They modeled what being good people and good parents were for us.
I had no idea how good I had it. I loved my parents and appeciated them and did a lot for them when they got old and sick... but by golly if I'd realized what a wonder they were I would have worshipped the ground they walked on.
I've since met so many people who had parents that were mediocre if not selfish, mean and uncaring. Met so many people who grew up from broken homes.
So many young men these days who don't take care of their wives and children very well at all, lazy and shiftless bums who think they're too good to work whatever job they can get. Husbands who disappear all hours of the night getting into trouble, cheating, coming home drunk and mean.
So many young people today don't know HOW to be good people, or good parents... they grew up never seeing an example of it to follow, some of them want to be good parents but have no idea HOW. No one ever taught them, no one ever showed them by example.
How very sad that is.
My childhood had its rough parts but none of that was my parents fault; my life at home was practically Leave it to Beaver and Father Knows Best compared to so many these days.
Once, when I was grown and had a wife and child of my own to take care of, I went to my Dad and thanked him for working hard and taking care of his family and being there for us, and coming home every day to sit at the supper table with his wife and children instead of being out acting a fool. He told me "Son, as far as I was concerned, that's just what a man does."
That's just what a man does, he said. My God, so many young men need to hear that today.
If you had a good father, or a good mother, and they're still alive... go see them and tell them how much you appreciate them. I can't tell you how much I wish I could, but mine have passed on.
Apparently they just don't make 'em like that very often, anymore.

Even bacon?
"You, too, can be O.K. without pork.
That’s the message of Michael J. Sorrell, president of Paul Quinn College in Dallas. Well, part of the message at least – after all, Sorrell didn’t ban pork from his campus dining facilities arbitrarily. No – the decision to stop offering any pork products was based in a much broader institutional philosophy, the president says.
“When you come to college, you come to be educated,” Sorrell said. “We thought we could do more in the area of promoting healthy lifestyle choices and healthy eating habits.”
To be honest when I read the headline on Instapundit, my first thought was some college trying to curry favor with Muslims. Then I read the article.
Uhhmmm, I'm 44 years old and I will eat what I want to eat, when I want to eat it, without the interference of an overly officious school administrator. Where does he get off attempting to dictate what students do and do not eat? Fine it's the schools cafeteria, take out the pork and bacon, don't be surprised if students get chinese take out and pizza delivered so they can eat it, in your cafeteria, just to rub your nose in your simpleminded, and I do mean that exactly as I typed it, decision.
As many have pointed out many times in the past. You cannot legislate behavior. People will do whatever ay to obtain or do it.they choose to do. If you attempt to make something illegal or restrict access to it, they will still find a way to obtain or do it.
Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Well isn't that special.....
"A new report from the conservative Government Accountability Institute (GAI) finds that President Barack Obama’s and Attorney General Eric Holder’s failure to criminally charge any top Wall Street bankers is likely a result of cronyism inside the Department of Justice and political donations made to Obama’s campaign."

END GAME -- Really Scary - from inbox
The END Game … Is it already too late? Obama's Second Term Transformation Plans The 2012 election has often been described as the most pivotal since 1860. This statement is not hyperbole. If Barack Obama is re-elected the United States will never be the same, nor will it be able to re-capture its once lofty status as the most dominant nation in the history of mankind. The overwhelming majority of Americans do not understand that Obama's first term was dedicated to putting in place executive power to enable him and the administration to fulfill the campaign promise of "transforming America" in his second term regardless of which political party controls Congress. That is why his re-election team is virtually ignoring the plight of incumbent or prospective Democratic Party office holders. The most significant accomplishment of Obama's first term is to make Congress irrelevant. Under the myopic and blindly loyal leadership of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, the Democrats have succeeded in creating an imperial and, in a second term, a potential dictatorial presidency. During the first two years of the Obama administration when the Democrats overwhelming controlled both Houses of Congress and the media was in an Obama worshipping stupor, a myriad of laws were passed and actions taken which transferred virtually unlimited power to the executive branch. The birth of multi-thousand page laws was not an aberration. This tactic was adopted so the bureaucracy controlled by Obama appointees would have sole discretion in interpreting vaguely written laws and enforcing thousands of pages of regulations they and not Congress would subsequently write. For example, in the 2,700 pages of ObamaCare there are more than 2,500 references to the Secretary of Health and Human Services. There are more than 700 instances when he or she is instructed that they "shall" do something and more than 200 times when they "may" take at their sole discretion some form of regulatory action. On 139 occasions, the law mentions that the "Secretary determines." In essence one person, appointed by and reporting to the president, will be in charge of the health care of 310 million Americans once ObamaCare is fully operational in 2014. The same is true in the 2,319 pages of the Dodd-Frank Financial Reform Act which confers nearly unlimited power on various agencies to control by fiat the nation's financial, banking and investment sectors. The bill also creates new agencies, such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, not subject to any oversight by Congress. This overall process was repeated numerous times with other legislation all with the intent of granting unfettered power to the executive branch controlled Barack Obama and his radical associates. Additionally, the Obama administration has, through its unilaterally determined rule making and regulatory powers, created laws out of whole cloth. The Environmental Protection Agency on a near daily basis issues new regulations clearly out of their purview in order to modify and change environmental laws previously passed and to impose a radical green agenda never approved by Congress. The same is true of the Energy and Interior Departments among many others. None of these extra-constitutional actions have been challenged by Congress. The left in America knows this usurpation of power is nearly impossible to reverse unless stopped in its early stages. It is clearly the mindset of this administration and its appointees that Congress is merely a nuisance and can be ignored after they were able to take full advantage of the useful idiots in the Democrat controlled House and Senate in 2009-2010 and the Democrat Senate in the current Congress. Additionally, Barack Obama knows after his re-election a Republican controlled House and Senate will not be able to enact any legislation to roll back the power previously granted to the Executive Branch or usurped by them. His veto will not be overridden as there will always be at least 145 Democratic members of the House or 34 in the Senate in agreement with or intimidated by an administration more than willing to use Chicago style political tactics. The stalemate between the Executive and Legislative Branches will inure to the benefit of Barack Obama and his fellow leftists. The most significant power Congress has is the control of the purse-strings as all spending must be approved by them. However, once re-elected,Barack Obama, as confirmed by his willingness to do or say anything and his unscrupulous re-election tactics, would not only threaten government shutdowns but would deliberately withhold payments to those dependent on government support as a means of intimidating and forcing a Republican controlled Congress to surrender to his demands, thus neutering their ability to control the administration through spending constraints. Further, this administration has shown contempt for the courts by ignoring various court orders, e.g. the Gulf of Mexico oil drilling moratorium, as well as stonewalling subpoenas and requests issued by Congress. The Eric Holder Justice Department has become the epitome of corruption as part of the most dishonest and deceitful administration in American history. In a second term the arrogance of Barack Obama and his minions will become more blatant as he will not have to be concerned with re-election. Who will be there to enforce the rule of law, a Supreme Court ruling or the Constitution? No one. Barack Obama and his fellow-travelers will be unchallenged as they run roughshod over the American people. Many Republicans and conservatives dissatisfied with the prospect of Mitt Romney as the nominee for president are instead focused on re-taking the House and Senate. That goal, while worthy and necessary, is meaningless unless Barack Obama is defeated. The nation is not dealing with a person of character and integrity but someone of single-minded purpose and overwhelming narcissism. Judging by his actions, words and deeds during his first term,he does not intend to work with Congress either Republican or Democrat in his second term but rather to force his radical agenda on the American people through the power he has usurped or been granted. The governmental structure of the United States was set up by the founders in the hope that over the years only those people of high moral character and integrity would assume the reins of power. However, knowing that was not always possible, they dispersed power over three distinct and independent branches as a check on each other. What they could not imagine is the surrender and abdication of its constitutional duty by the preeminent governmental branch, the Congress, to a tyrannical chief executive devoid of any character or integrity coupled with a judiciary essentially powerless to enforce the law when the chief executive ignores them Conservatives, Libertarians, the Republican Party and Mitt Romney must come to grips with this moment in time and their historical role in denying Barack Obama and his minions their ultimate goal. All resources must be directed at that end-game and not merely controlling Congress and the various committee chairmanships. Steve McCann May 12, 2012 I would add but 6 words to those above mentioned, Conservatives, Libertarians, the Republican Party and Mitt Romney, to say "and we the American people also", must come to grips with this moment in time and our role in denying Barack Obama his life long goal of "transforming" us into his slaves working on his government plantation. Please forward this to all you can, maybe together we can save America for ourselves and those who will follow after us.
Borepatch on Leftie Professors and Social Security
The Universities are reliably leftist, filled with intellectuals who dhttps://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifespise the free market:
The schools, too, exhibited and thereby taught the principle of reward in accordance with (intellectual) merit. To the intellectually meritorious went the praise, the teacher's smiles, and the highest grades. In the currency the schools had to offer, the smartest constituted the upper class. Though not part of the official curricula, in the schools the intellectuals learned the lessons of their own greater value in comparison with the others, and of how this greater value entitled them to greater rewards.

Bush and Wall St. didn't cause the economy to collapse,
the Federal Reserve did. From a senior economist at the Federal Reserve, we have a book telling how the Fed caused this, not Wall Street, not President Bush, but the Fed and Ben Bernanke.

Problems at St. Louis University Law School
My father got his Law Degree from SLU, back in the 70's when I was 3 or 4 years old. He was one of the minority of Law School graduates, in that he got his degree, passed the Bar exam and then went almost immediately into private practice. Most new lawyers will work for other firms for a few years to get experience before striking off on their own. My father and a few of his friends however started their own firm, under the guidance of an older attorney who was basically retired. They could go to him for assistance in their cases while they built up their knowledge and reputations. When my father passed in 2004 he had been listed in the Who's Who in American Law for many years, and was widely known for being able to come up with unique legal strategies for varying situations. If he were to see what SLU had become, he would be extremely disappointed.
"I resign my deanship at Saint Louis University School of Law, effective immediately. For the present, I will remain a tenured full professor on the law school faculty as is my contractual right. I no longer have confidence in either of your abilities to lead this institution or in your commitment to the well-being of the School of Law. ..."
{After only one year as Dean at St. Louis University School of Law, Annette Clark resigned today and released two remarkable letters.}
This makes me very glad my father cannot see this.

How could this be???
The Minnesota election was decided by less than 350 votes, and now we find:
"In the '08 campaign, Republican Sen. Norm Coleman was running for re-election against Democrat Al Franken. It was impossibly close; on the morning after the election, after 2.9 million people had voted, Coleman led Franken by 725 votes."
The final tally came down to:
"Franken and his Democratic allies dispatched an army of lawyers to challenge the results. After the first canvass, Coleman's lead was down to 206 votes. That was followed by months of wrangling and litigation. In the end, Franken was declared the winner by 312 votes. He was sworn into office in July 2009, eight months after the election."
And then we find out:
"During the controversy a conservative group called Minnesota Majority began to look into claims of voter fraud. Comparing criminal records with voting rolls, the group identified 1,099 felons -- all ineligible to vote -- who had voted in the Franken-Coleman race."
So an election won by 312 votes had at LEAST 1,099 illegal votes cast in it. And we know what happened when the Democrats finally took over the Senate, right?

Thank Tam for this one
She posted the link to MININERD and I found THIS post. An Excerpt.
"The regular players exhibited classic signs of the politics of envy: a sense of entitlement to the achievements and rewards of people more successful than themselves and the need to blame those successful people for their own failures and imperfections. When a minority of people have more of something (money, talent, etc.) than the majority, the majority can “win” by making it a negative thing to have more and a positive thing to have less. This radical egalitarianism (or radical leveling) happened in real life during the Cultural Revolution in China, and was perfectly exemplified in fiction by Kurt Vonnegut in “Harrison Bergeron.”

Is anyone else having a problem reading Lee's page? I cannot access the main page at all.
Correct me if I am wrong,
but if you are dishonorable discharged from the US Armed Forces, you are ineligible to Vote, Own a Firearm or have a Professional License. And yet the Lame Stream Media is saying the Wisconsin shooter used "Legally Purchased Firearms". If he is dishonorably discharged he cannot legally purchase or own Firearms. So how are his Firearms "Legally Purchased"?

I used to be very supportive of Michael Yon. Until he became more about Michael Yon and less about the service men and women of our country.
His attacks on Soldiers Angels are reaching absurd proportions. All I will do is ask you to click the below link and go to Blackfive and read the letter posted there. Be sure to check out the links there.

THE SPLC, for some strange reason ignores the actual documented facts about the Occupy Movement, yet according to the SPLC, the Tea Party is a "Hate" group, full of "Extremists". And yet the Occupy members who have plead guilty of actual "Hate" crimes aren't even mentioned.

Please join with us bloggers in NEVER mentioning the shooters name. He and the idiot in Colorado are looking for fame/infamy, let's not give it to them. If the Lame Stream Media followed this simple act, I honestly believe there would be less incidents such as this. They would have no reward for their behavior. So let us not reward these despicable creatures.

For those who don't believe anything
not even the truth. Written by a great author, Lois McMaster Bujold.
For the Climate Change believers, the Liberal Left Wing Fanatics and others. If you refuse to believe anything those who differ from you says, maybe the problem isn't with them. But with you.
If you wish to know which novel the quote is from it is "Brothers in Arms" and I strongly recommend the whole series of novels.

Obama's "October Surprise"
The Ulsterman has a report of Obama bid to have Ben Bernanke pull some shenanigan's this october, in a bid to help Obama win the election.
"I have recently received confirmation of Ben Bernanke’s intent to initiate a sizeable QE3 just prior to the November election. Whispers of this have been circulating for a number of weeks. It is now confirmed. Bernanke now appears quite motivated to do just that though there will be a fight among some within the FED"
Click to RTWT and you really need to read the whole thing.
The Ulsterman also has a post about e-mails concerning the Solyndra scandal"
"The Solyndra scandal took a big step up the ladder today, as ABC News uncovers new evidence that shows fears over a collapse reached all the way into the West Wing. An OMB analyst tried to raise red flags on the Obama administration’s attempt to rescue the now-bankrupt green-tech firm, before the Department of Energy rejected her advice and restructured the loans in March 2011, which illegally subordinated taxpayers in case of default. An e-mail from Kelly Colyar in August 2011 reminded recipients that she had predicted that very scenario — and that White House chief of staff had been briefed on her warning in February, before the restructuring."
Click to RTWT and you need to read this one as well.
And the third story from The Ulsterman, The Obama Administration has started to implement a program which might have UAV's flying over your city this fall.
"You see, Obama – he don’t trust the military. Not all of them…not many of them. But he trusts those drones, now don’t he? Don’t take him having to trust some military official to order troops to carry out an order inside the United States. It’s just inputting a bit of data – and the push of a button, right? And keep the f-cking military out of that equation there. Move the program…attach it directly to the White House. Make it…make it part of Homeland Security, right? Simple as that. One appropriations bill – just one…and it’s done."

Obama suing to restrict Military voting rights?
"President Barack Obama, along with many Democrats, likes to say that, while they may disagree with the GOP on many issues related to national security, they absolutely share their admiration and dedication to members of our armed forces. Obama, in particular, enjoys being seen visiting troops and having photos taken with members of our military. So, why is his campaign and the Democrat party suing to restrict their ability to vote in the upcoming election?
On July 17th, the Obama for America Campaign, the Democratic National Committee, and the Ohio Democratic Party filed suit in OH to strike down part of that state's law governing voting by members of the military. Their suit said that part of the law is "arbitrary" with "no discernible rational basis."
Excuse me?
Because Military members are allowed an additional 3 days to cast their vote, there is "no discernible rational basis"? Have you idiots ever heard of Patrols? Field Exercises? Extra Duty? Temporary Duty? You know, assignments which may place them outside of their base and not allow them time to go in to cast their ballot. Unless you want to allow the US Military to have portable voting booths to go to each unit with all of the necessary paper ballots for each state, county and local jurisdiction that the service members call their registered voting address. But that won't work for you either. As the Military would make sure you couldn't stuff the ballot box.
The US Military takes the ballot box very seriously. I remember when I was in basic training. I was only 17 at the timeso I was ineligible to vote, but I saw the DI's handing out the absentee ballots by state. My battalion was divided up by state and the guys who were registered to vote were called up, had to show their ID, sign for their ballot, go to the little booth to fill it out and then were given an envelope to seal it in. With MP's standing there to ensure no one interfered in any way. Then the sealed ballot was put in a double locked shipping trunk with a slot cut in the front, that looked like an old steamer trunk on steroids, that said US Postal Service on it. There was a US Postal Service Police officer standing next to it. When all the voting was done, the Postal Officer rolled the trunk out and into a large panel van which said US Mail on it, then locked the door and a regular postal worker drove the panel van, followed by the postal officer to the next battalion.
This was 1985, and like I said, the US Military takes the voting process seriously. One guy in Charlie Battery told the DI he didn't feel like voting, he thought it was a waste of time.
That was the first time I EVER saw my Battalion Commander, the DI heard this guy had him step aside then talked to the Charlie Battery XO. The XO RAN, not walked but RAN, back into the barracks. Eight minutes later the Battalion Commander was there and he told all of us in the battalion the importance of our vote, and why it was our DUTY and OBLIGATION to vote in every election.
I wish I could remember that speech, but it hit me in the gut. And I have voted in every election ever since.
It is EVERY Citizens Duty and Obligation to vote in every election. Every vote DOES count. Even with vote fraud perpetrated by both the Democrats and the Republicans, every vote still counts.
If you don't step up and vote, you have no say in what happens to our country, your state, your county, your city or your town. You have no right to complain about the politicians if you don't vote. Why? Because you didn't perform your Duty and Obligation. You shirked it and let others make your choice, therefor you have no right to complain.
But back to the Democrats attempt to take away the voting right of service members .
The Administration should be extremely careful in this. #1 because it may set a precedent they don't want and #2 It might just annoy service members enough that the Democrat party will lose even the small percentage of the military vote it already has.
So they had better re-think their strategy, if you could call it that.

Beeman Dual Caliber Air Rifle sighting in.
Here is a test target, a phone book with a piece of paper with a dot marked in the center.
That is actually 12 shots, 6 on the left as I adjust the scope and 6 in the center. That raged hole in the center just under the black dot is 3 pellets.
This air rifle is very powerful. I've shot .22 shorts that didn't penetrate as far as this rifle did with .177 pointed Crossman pellets.
One pellet actually penetrated all 583 pages and dented the wood backing board.
That is 360 pages into the phone book.
I will do some more shooting with this air rifle this weekend to fine tune the scope sighting. Oh and this is at 30 feet just sitting on my back steps using my knees for a rest, no bench.
Yes I can shoot. I am actually much better with rifles than I am with handguns. With my old No.4 MKI SMLE I would regularly shoot a 3 inch group at 100 yard with iron sights. Compared to normally shooting a 10 inch 18 round group with a handgun at 21 feet, I much prefer a good rifle for any type of distance shooting.

New acquisition to the gunsafe
a Beeman Dual Caliber air rifle. It is a .177 and .22 air rifle which according to the box puts out a .177 pellet at 1000 FPS and a .22 pellet at 800 FPS. I got mine at the Walmart down in Aransas Pass Texas as my local store didn't have it. It was $114.00 where Amazon has it for for 174.99 plus shipping, and several oterh vendors have it ranging from $139.99 to 159.99 plus shiipping. So I got it at Wally World. They didn't have any .22 pellets in stock though, so I'll have to get those later.
Today all I have done is mount the scope and fired a few pellets through it. I will have to take some time this weekend to zero the scope. This has the makings of a decent yard varmint rifle, as .22 shorts for the Sears/Savage 29A are rather expensive at almost 6 dollars a box of 50 versus 3 bucks for 250 pellets. The pellets I fired into a 1X3 board almost fully penetrated the board at 15 feet, so the yard varmints should watch out.
Pics and more details to follow if the heat and humidity don't get me this weekend.
The link to the rifle at Walmart is : http://www.walmart.com/ip/Beeman-Dual-Caliber-Air-Rifle-with-Scope/16686245
It doesn't say if it is available via site to store, but according to the reviews with a little bit of care this rifle turns out excellent accuracy. As the farthest I plan on shotting this is only about 50 feet, that is good enough for me.

Chick-fil-a Kiss in
Gay marriage supporters are going to have a "Kiss in" at Chick-fil-a in response to Company CEO Dan Cathy's comments as to his beliefs in regards to traditional marriage.
"Basically what you're going to get is a bunch of pretty normal, average, everyday people that just happen to be gay or lesbian give each other a kiss or a hug, hold each other's hand, and really show them that we stand up for what we believe," said Marci Alt, who is organizing a protest outside the Chick-fil-A in Decatur, Ga., about 20 miles from the company's Atlanta headquarters."
I have no problem with that, however you know that someone will do something silly, so they can get on the news and spout off "their" message. I'd be willing to take bets on it. Ms. Alt goes on to say.
"Activists who are planning to turn out for Friday's kiss-off say it is not about speech, it's about action. Chick-fil-A and the non-profit foundation WinShape that it supports have donated millions to anti-gay groups such as the Marriage & Family Foundation, the Family Research Council and the National Institute of Marriage, all of which support a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.
"Yes, you're allowed to have your opinion, but when you start signing checks over to people who are against my community and trying to rip my family apart, I'm going to stand up," Alt said. The couple have also invited
Alt said she expects "hundreds, hopefully thousands" of people to show up for the Atlanta kiss-in. Other formal protests are planned in Dallas and New York City and hundreds of other informal kiss-ins are expected around the country."
Please notice the BOLD words. It is not about speech, it's about action. I'm sorry but didn't the US Supreme Court decide that contributions to political groups and such are protected as Speech? Sooo the fact that Chick-fil-a gives money to these organizations, they are exercising their free speech. And these activists have an issue with that. I'm sorry folks you're being hypocrites. Chick-fil-a can give money to whoever they want, just like you can. So for you to say the reason you are going to stage your "kiss in" is because of that, just goes to show just how hypocritical you are.
Free Speech for me, but not for thee.

Violent upheaval every 50 years?
While cruising the news like I do every day I came upon this story.:
"Circa 1870, the North fought the South in the Civil War. Half a century later, around 1920, worker unrest, racial tensions and anti-Communist sentiment caused another nationwide upsurge of violence. Then, 50 years later, the Vietnam War and Civil Rights Movement triggered a third peak in violent political, social and racial conflict. Fifty years after that will be 2020. If history continues to repeat itself, we can expect a violent upheaval in the United States in a few years."
If this is true, then the current issues we are having with the Occupy movement may be pre-ordained. The researcher Peter Turchin goes on:
"In the new study, Turchin, who reported his results in the July issue of the Journal of Peace Research, compiled historical data about violent incidents in U.S. history between 1780 and 2010, including riots, terrorism, assassinations and rampages. The data indicates that a cycle of violence repeats itself every 50 years in America, like a wave that peaks in every other generation. This short-term cycle is superimposed over another, longer-term oscillation that repeats every 200 to 300 years. The slower waves in violence can either augment or suppress the 50-year peaks, depending on how the two cycles overlap.
The longer cycle is "the one which we understand much better, and it is a universal feature of all complex societies," Turchin told Life's Little Mysteries. From the Roman Empire to medieval France to ancient China, scholars have noted that societies swing between 100-150 years of relative peace and 100-150 years of conflict, and then back again. Only some societies exhibit the shorter-term, and less subtle, 50-year-long cycles of violence along the way — the Roman Empire, for one, and if Turchin's theory is correct, the United States as well.
Why 50-year cycles? Turchin explained that a surge of violence begins in the same way as a forest fire: explosively. After a period of escalation followed by sustained violence, citizens begin to "yearn for the return of stability and an end to fighting," he wrote in his paper. The prevailing social mood swings toward stifling the violence at all costs, and those who directly experienced the civil violence maintain the peace for about a human generation — 20 or 30 years. But the stability doesn't last."
So the troubles will come to the boiling point in 2020 according to his research. That is less than 8 years, and my take on this is that things are going to get worse and worse, until we reach the boiling point. I personally don't want my family any where near cities or large towns when that happens. But that is just my opinion.

Feds suing to gain control of New Mexico's Water supply
The Gateway Pundit has the story.
"Clearly, it was jolting news the New Mexico Legislature’s Water and Natural Resources Committee wasn’t prepared for.
During Monday’s committee meeting, in the Barbara Hubbard Room at the Pan American Center Annex, lawyers representing the New Mexico Office of the State Engineer, Elephant Butte Irrigation District, and the city of Las Cruces, told the committee that a state Water Court hearing will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, at the Third Judicial Court Complex, 201 E. Picacho Ave., and the future management of state’s water supply could hang in the balance of the hearing’s outcome."

If this goes through, coupled with a recent case in Oregon, you won't be able to even water your own grass or flush a toilet without a permit or permission from the Federal Government. Is that what we want? A federal government that so over reaches itself that there are NO personal liberties or freedom. That is what the liverals like Obama, Reid and Pelosi want. What do you want?
Me? I want a very limited government, that recognizes the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and recognizes it's own limitations under those two documents. That is what I want. The government has no reason to be in my bedroom, my house, kitchen or anywhere else where their actions infringe upon me or my family.

Harry Reid's Bain Investor
Harry Reid states on the record that he spoke to an unnamed Bain Investor and that this unnamed investor claims Mitt Romney didn't pay taxes.
Here is my question.
If this individual knew of that, why didn't he report him to the IRS? The same IRS that offer rewards for such activity. Also why hasn't the IRS stepped in? Why is there no media reports of the IRS now investigating Mitt Romney's past returns?
Because the IRS knows Mitt paid his taxes. they know Harry Reid is talking out of his rectal orifice, and this is a slam job against Mitt Romney. The only reason this is out in the media is because Obama and the Democrats are losing. And they know it. They are trying to fire up the remains of their base, and obfuscate their own record, by disparaging Mitt Romney's record, and destroying his credibility.
They know they cannot run on Obama's record, they know the only way they have any reasonable chance to win a second term is to make Romney and any Republican out to be a criminal who is stealing from citizens of this country either from not paying taxes or graft.
